For some reason, it felt like my heart was beating so fast. I was so happy that I was smiling to myself. My heart really felt like it was about to burst out of my body. I was so happy that I accidentally bumped into someone when I turned around, causing me to fall to the floor.
"You?" I exclaimed when I saw the face of the person who had bumped into me.
"Hay, unholy woman!" he mocked with a sarcastic smile that made me want to punch him in the face right now.
"What do you mean by saying inappropriate things like that?"
"Why, you don't like the new nickname?"
"You?"
"What, you want to be angry with me? Do you dare to fight me after what happened three years ago? Do you still dare?" he said while pushing my body roughly.
"Don't ever bring up the past again. Do you think what happened three years ago was purely my fault? It was just your imagination. The one who should be called a murderer is you, not me!"
Lisa almost slapped me on the cheek, but it seemed like someone was holding her hand back from hitting my cheek.
"Niko?" I exclaimed when I saw Niko beside me and holding Lisa's hand.
"Don't you ever touch Nadia with your dirty hands. Listen to me Lisa, from this moment on you will be 10 meters away from Nadia. If I find out that you are close to Nadia, I can hire a hitman to kill you, mutilate you and sell your organs abroad. Do you understand?"
Niko left in a huff as she pulled on my hand, leaving Lisa to grumble to herself. I was so surprised that Niko still kept pulling my hand while walking away so fast.
"How long do you want to take me, Nik? This is the Faculty of Medicine, not Psychology!" I said, causing Niko to stop.
Niko removed his hand from mine when he realized he was taking me so far to the front of the Faculty of Medicine.
"Wow, was that you, Nik?" I asked, so amazed by his words to threaten Lisa that he couldn't move a muscle.
"I won't let Lisa touch you in the slightest, Nad. So you can rest easy, I'll always be there to be your guardian angel."
Niko's words just now touched me deeply. For the first time, I saw Niko, who was ignorant and always didn't care about what Lisa did to me, say something so extraordinary. I didn't expect at all that Niko would help me deal with Lisa like that.
During the lecture, I can still clearly remember everything Niko said to me that morning. Even when the lecturer was explaining, it looked like Niko's face was smiling at me.
Maybe I was completely crazy, but somehow the image of Niko's face kept haunting me. Even the pen I was holding looked like Niko's face smiling at me.
"You're crazy, Nadia!" I said, covering my face with my hands.
When the lecture was over and I left the class, suddenly a group of men bumped into me, causing the books I was holding to scatter to the floor.
"Aishh, instead of apologizing for bumping into people, they just left as they pleased. Kids these days have no sense of manners at all!" I grumbled in annoyance.
As I was cleaning up the fallen books, suddenly there was a man who helped me tidy up my books.
"Thank's," I said quietly.
The man didn't answer. He just left without looking at me again. However, I could clearly see that the man was wearing a white bracelet that felt very familiar to me.
Who was that man?
❤❤❤
"Nad, let's go now!" Niko shouted.
"Yes, just a moment. I'll get the car keys first."
This morning was a real hassle for me. Being a student and a housewife at an early age makes me a super busy woman. Besides having to prepare breakfast for Niko, I have to leave the house clean and tidy.
Niko really doesn't like it when he sees the house in a messy state. Therefore, I have to wake up early to fulfill my obligations. These days, Niko and I have been busy with various final assignments.
Being students who are about to finish their tenure on campus, we both have to be willing to stay up late for the sake of a grade. Like this morning, I was busy carrying my assignment books. Not to mention, I had to drive because Niko seemed to be busy with his assignments as well.
After taking the car keys, I immediately rushed over to Niko who was already near the car. This time, I took the driving part and left Niko to finish her many tasks.
"You have so many tasks, huh?" I asked while driving the car and glanced at Niko who was focused on her laptop.
"Yes, yesterday I also had some important conversations with my lecturer," he said as he typed something into his laptop.
"Important conversation? What important conversation?" I asked curiously as I furrowed my brow in confusion.
"About continuing my master's degree in Germany."
I was silent for a moment. Silent without words. Hearing the word Germany, it felt like a knife was being plunged into my heart. I don't mean to exaggerate, but it felt like a teardrop was at the end of my cheek. Like being stopped by a heavy object and like being locked in a very small room.
"Germany?" I said, looking surprised.
"Yes, if my GPA of 4 continues and is maintained until graduation, I get a scholarship to continue my Masters in Germany," he said.
"Scholarship?" I asked again.
"Yes, I've had many discussions with my lecturer. And, if I can maintain my Ip, continuing my Masters in Germany is in sight."
I paused for a moment and didn't continue. Niko was indeed the greatest man I had ever known. Ever since he was a child, Niko had always been the overall champion in his class. Whenever I was in his class, I always competed fiercely with him. Niko was always the overall champion, while I had to settle for third place.
In fact, from the beginning of the semester until now, Niko's IP has always been 4 and that's really a very remarkable achievement. But, I was quite shocked when I heard that Niko could get a scholarship to Germany to continue her master's degree. Why did Niko just tell me such an important thing today?
Niko nodded slowly. I was a little disappointed to hear that. Why, why do I have to be the last person to know about the most important thing in his career? What does Niko think of me, anyway?
"So, are you really going to continue your master's degree in Germany, Nik?" I asked again.
"I think so, continuing my studies in Germany is my big dream," he replied.
"How long will you be in Germany?" I asked again.
"I'm not so sure that I can finish my Master's degree quickly. I'd like to continue my studies for a Specialization. But, there are still many considerations and I can't decide yet," she explained.
I fell silent again and tried to concentrate on driving. I look straight ahead and dare not look at Niko's face at the moment.
"Are you planning to continue your doctorate there too?"
Niko was silent for a while and looked at my face intently. "I don't know, maybe I can continue my doctorate there too."
I was right, Niko had planned all this carefully without my consent.
"So, you'll be staying there for a long time?"
"I think so," he replied shortly and went back to his work.
"Apparently, you've prepared all this carefully, huh?" I said quietly, causing Niko to suddenly glance at me and give me a look that was very difficult to interpret.
"What's wrong with you, Nad?" he asked, looking at me confused.
"I'm fine, ko. What's wrong?"
"Is there something you want to tell me?"
"Nothing. But I just wanted to say that you should keep your spirits up, okay? To fulfill all your dreams and don't get sick. I'll always be here to support you."
Niko looked at me gently. He smiled slightly and held my head with his right hand.
"Why?" I asked confused when I saw Niko had been staring at me.
"It's okay, I understand what you're feeling right now."
"What do you mean?"
"It's okay. Just forget what I said earlier."
Arriving at the campus, Niko seemed to be in a hurry. We didn't have time to talk to each other, and Niko didn't even have time to say goodbye to me. Niko has been busy lately. I've also seen Niko staying up late for almost two weeks and busy doing her assignments.
Then, what about my fate if Niko will continue her master's degree in Germany later? Why doesn't Niko discuss this with me first? After all, I am his wife now. Even if Niko doesn't love me, he should have discussed this with me first.
