"So, do you want Bahasa or Ips?" I asked again with a grin.
"I want to be a preacher then," he said, making us all laugh again.
"Eh, being an ustadz is not that easy, No. You have to understand religion, the history of Islam and much more. Ustadz is also a very noble job," said Niko who was given a nod by all of us.
"Iye, I know that. I also haven't been able to become a cleric. Just now, I just said that."
"You never filter what you say first. Don't just say it without thinking about it. You're a kid!" exclaimed Niko as he ruffled his sister's hair in annoyance.
"Ih, I'm not a kid. I'm a handsome man from the shiniest planet Earth," he said confidently, making everyone laugh again.
The laughter grew in our little family. Where Noah is, there's bound to be a riot, excitement and great fun. Noah can always make the atmosphere warm.
Noah is indeed the shining star in our family. He's very funny, but he's also cool like his two older brothers. He's handsome and smart, but this one is more eccentric and unique than his brothers, who seem to be ignorant.
As it was getting late, Niko and I said goodbye to go home.
"Stay here overnight, I still miss you guys," my mom pleaded while hugging me from the side.
"Next time we'll definitely stay over, but not today, okay?" I said, returning Niko's hug.
"Alright, take care of yourselves. Don't be lazy to study, don't make a lot of noise, stay healthy, get enough rest and don't forget to pray five times," Papa advised.
"Yes, Pah. Niko will always remember the advice of papah and mamah."
"And, don't forget to make children soon. Give me a nephew as soon as possible!" Noah exclaimed suddenly, to which Niko's parents laughed.
"You little brat. What do you know about making children, huh? Learn something, don't play in a band!" exclaimed Niko while pinching his brother's head.
"Hahaha, you two should come when my band performs. Support your little brother, so he can become a top band."
"Yeah, we'll come sometime if we remember," I joked, to which Niko nodded.
"Agreed, high five first!"
I smiled a little and immediately did a high five together with Niko, making Noah grin.
"Take care of papah and mamah at home, you're now the only boy they rely on at home. Don't trouble your papah and mamah."
"Ready, Uncle!" said Noah as he saluted his brother.
"We'll say goodbye first, Pah," Niko and I said as we kissed both of their palms.
"Be careful, don't speed on the road," Dad advised.
Niko nodded slowly. We both went home after saying goodbye.
"I'm lucky to know your family, Nik," I said quietly on the way home. "They're very kind to me and love me very much. Can I think of them as my own family?" I asked, looking at Niko's face as he drove.
"They are your family, Nad. Whatever and however, my family is also your family," he replied, making me smile from ear to ear.
"Thank you, Niko."
"Thank you for what?" she asked confused.
"Thank you for giving me such a wonderful family. Without them, I wouldn't be this happy."
"You're welcome, Nad. Visit their house often if you miss mamah and papah."
I nodded slowly and smiled a little. The next day, since we didn't have the same class schedule, I decided to clean the house while it was quiet since Niko had a morning class. Since there was quite a lot of housework, I spent quite a long time cleaning the house.
"It's hard to be a housewife," I complained as I wiped the sweat dripping down my forehead while sweeping the backyard.
"I can't underestimate the work of a housewife. Now I feel it myself. Housework is harder than I imagined before."
After I finished cleaning up the house, I went to the bathroom. 20 minutes later I quickly put on makeup in front of the mirror. After finishing dressing up and getting ready, I rushed to campus using my Toyota Rush car, a gift from my parents.
On the way to campus, my father kept calling me and chatting with me.
"Don't forget to eat, pray and get enough rest," my father said across the phone.
"Yes, Pah. Don't forget to eat and don't work overtime at the office."
"Yes, Nadia. Oh yeah, when are you coming home? Your sister said she misses you."
"When Nadia's work is done, she'll come home. Dad, don't worry, Nadia likes to chat with Kesya. She often makes video calls too."
"Thank God then, hurry up and come home, okay? Mamah here also said she misses you."
"Yes, Dad. Alright, Nadia is driving. I'll get back to you later, Pah?"
"Okay, be careful on the road, sweetheart. Love you."
"Love you to, Pah."
Having just arrived on campus, I accidentally saw Niko alone with a girl in the campus corridor. The girl was none other than Nina, Niko's classmate.
Nina, the girl Bobby had told me about who seemed to like Niko. They looked very harmonious and seemed to be having fun while talking.
"Nad, have you done Mr. Bambang's assignment yet?" asked my classmate Disa as I was looking at Niko who was alone with Nina, making me surprised by Disa's presence.
"Eh, Dis? You startled me. What did you say?"
"I surprised you, didn't I? Sorry, Nad."
"Yeah, it's okay. Just be cool, Dis. By the way, what did you ask?"
"Did you do the assignment for Mr. Bambang?"
"Oh, I did. Why?"
"Hm, can I cheat?" she said with a grin.
"You can, I'll show you the assignment in class."
"Thanks, Dad? Then I'll go first, I want to go to the cafeteria first," he said and left while waving his hand.
I smiled and looked back at Niko and Nina. For some reason, I really didn't like that ugly scene. It felt very strange and confusing.
My heart and mind seemed to be out of sync and raging incoherently. I didn't understand why I didn't like Nina's seemingly sweet demeanor in front of Niko. All I felt at the moment was dislike and I hated it.
"Woi, what are you doing looking at Niko and Nina together?" exclaimed Bella who suddenly appeared and surprised me.
"No, who's looking at the two of them?"
"Akh, I know. You must be jealous of Nina, right?" she guessed, which made me immediately misbehave.
"Huh? What, jealous? How could I be jealous of Nina?"
"Really?" he asked.
"It's Niko's and Nina's right to socialize with anyone. Why should I be jealous, I don't like Niko."
"Lied to by a psychologist? It doesn't work, honey. Just admit it, if you're jealous, it's good, it means you're normal."
"What the hell, you're even discussing jealousy. I'm going to class first," I said, immediately leaving Bella.
"Ma'am, our class is over there, not to the left," she said, pointing to the right, making me immediately stop my steps.
"Where are you going? Do you want to go to the Faculty of Law?" Bella exclaimed, embarrassing me so much that I turned around and immediately headed to my class.
"Nadia, you're so stupid!" I shouted while messing up my own hair, making the few people who glanced at me chuckle.
