Chapter 5 - "Class"

Thapira POV

"Adventurer, what do they even do ?" I thought to myself silently.

It seemed like if I wanted to get a job I needed to become an adventurer in this world. I think being an adventurer is similar to most of the RPG or MMORPG games where you level up or something with the character that you have created. Sadly, I never even played it in my life, I only heard it from my classmate back in high school.

During high school and university time, all my free time was occupied because of my step-sisters. I spent most of my free time tutoring and taking care of them as my parent asked to because they were begged me to help them as the 2 of them stop listen or behave to what they were told. I have no choice but to help them out. Moreover, my father was always working abroad and my step mother also got a 9 to 5 job therefore as the only man in the household I must manage and look after them when my parents not home.

"They were a pain in the butt." I accidentally muttered out while thinking about my sad past.

"Hmm .. did you say something ?" Bart asked me when he heard me.

"Ahh …. It was nothing !! "I replied to him with an awkward smile.

"Anyway, are you ready for the registration ?"

"Yes"

I walked closer to the counter while Bart was standing behind me. Via, the receptionist girl quickly went to the another room and returned with a small iron tray with her.

On the tray there was a piece of card, a paper sheet and a tiny needle. She began to explain to me about the procedure and the material that will be used for this registration.

She handed me the piece of paper that appeared to be a form, it was made from a magical lizard skin that was used to keep the record of the adventurer's details.

The form was filled with strange languages but somehow I knew these characters and could read them really well, maybe because of the knowledge of the body that I was in.

I was only able to fill in my name and told her that I could not remember anything about myself except my name.

"Ahh I forgot about that. My apologies ! Would you mind lending me your finger real quick" Via apologized to me and asked me to show her my finger.

She then asked for me to point my index finger. I was confused at first but then she poke it with that tiny needle. Somehow I didn't feel any pain from that needle.

She asked me to drop a few bloods onto the form. After a few seconds, the form began to light up and the details were filled by itself.

It was shocking and fascinating, it looked like a magic trick that I only saw on the internet but this one was different and it felt so real.

I quickly grabbed the paper and began to skim through it. I learned some informations about the body that I was in. He was 17 years old, born in a city called "Flora" of the country that had a long name "The Joustra of Dynasty". More details like birthday, height, race and more but the only thing that caught my attention was the section that said "Class", It was empty.

"Ms. Via, why is this section empty ?" I returned the form and asked Via about it.

"I will have a look."

After a while, she told me that everything was fine but it seemed that I was "Classless" or "No Class".

I asked her what is "Class".

Following her explanation. I learned that people who were born in this world will bestow a "Class" from the priest when they reach the age of 17. To put it simply, "Class" was like a directed role that was given by the god of the world, it could only be given once in a lifetime. It was not a compulsory ritual but most people who wanted to become an adventurer tended to get their "Class" as soon as they reached the right age.

There was also a catch to that, status also played a big role in this. Noble people tended to receive a "Class" with a higher chance compared to commoners.

"Class" were Warrior, Mage, Priest, Ranger, Paladin and more. Sometimes when people receive the "Class" that they didn't wanted or not desired they have no choice but to train and change their class to the received class because having Class will increase the person's capability, skills, strength and power which allows them to become stronger if they trained hard according to the received class.

So no class will be okay and normal in this world but you need to train more and work harder than the person who had a class.

Anyway but why the boy that I was trapped in does not have any class. It sounded like a misfortune for me to come to this world without a class and become homeless at the same time.

"Why me !!" I screamed out in my head.
