Chereads / A Servant For the Demon Lord / Chapter 27 - Induction

Chapter 27 - Induction

Adara, despite the unexpected turns of the evening, took on the responsibility of showing Lucas around the mansion. As they walked through the dimly lit corridors and elegant rooms, she explained the various areas of significance.

"This is the library," Adara said, pushing open heavy wooden doors to reveal a vast collection of books. "You're free to explore it, but do be careful with some of the ancient tomes. Lord Hypnos values them greatly."

Lucas, still nursing a few sore spots from Ronan's attack, nodded attentively. "Got it. Ancient books, not for roughhousing. What's next?"

As they reached the end of the tour, Adara hesitated for a moment before turning to Lucas. "This is your room," she said, gesturing to the door. "Rest and recover. If you have any questions or need assistance, don't hesitate to ask. Lord Hypnos can be unpredictable, but he values loyalty."

Lucas grinned, not entirely fazed by the bizarre turn his night had taken. "Thanks, Adara. You've been a lifesaver. I'll try not to mess things up too much."

Adara went to say something in response, hesitated, and close her mouth again, before nodding and responding with a polite, "I'm glad that I can call you my colleague now..."

Leaving Lucas at his door, the chef of the mansion retired to her own bedroom a few doors down.

Lucas yawned, threw off his shirt and collapsed on his bed, it had been an exhausting few hours.

After eating on the floor of the dining room, Adara has showed him around the empty mansion, while Ronan went to go prepare a times table for his new tasks.

The newly made servent was a bit scared, he lost control of himself there, he didn't even remember the proper sequence of events during that "test".

He did recall, however, tearing a chunk of Ronan's flesh off with his teeth, and then giggling about it like a maniac.

Shivering, Lucas chalked it down to temporary delirium from the rather stressful couple of days... There was no way he'd ever accept that that was his true nature.

Not liking where this train of thought was going, he dismissed it and summoned you his system.

Looking at his mysterious title, Lucas smiled, he was glad it's effects were slowly coming into play, it certainly hadn't been like this before.

On top of that, his hand to hand combat had doubled from the measly two to it's current four.

He bet that one level was from the small tutoring from Adara, while the other was from the mental aspect he picked up against Ronan.

That being that no matter how strong your opponent is, no matter how big the difference is, you can always do something...

He should ask one of the other three for more combat lessons, after all "the star born" only had to level up one more time to complete his quest.
