Adara woke with her heart practically beating out of my chest. countless questions hot through her head, What was that memory? Was that me? Was that my...
She felt her thought process trail off, as a heavy calmness flooded over myself, pushing back all the curiosity and fear that I momentarily had. It was not good to think, she needed to go prepare breakfast for the lord.
Sliding on the leather sandals provided by the master, I quickly began heading down the winding staircase and towards the kitchen I had been provided with which was, in retrospect, much nicer than my room.
the cupboards had a nice, gold trim along their matte black surface. accessories such as mounted wolf heads or large weapons were hung from the wall, and a large glowing chandelier which provided light across the large room.
Adara dug through the store cupboards to find some ingredients, unfortunately it was surprisingly bare.
Damn, the lord will be disappointed. Panicking a tiny bit, as her heart returned to the quick beat it was earlier, the chef begun formulating a plan.
Grabbing the remains of the moose she used for last night's dinner that were unceremoniously thrown over the stone counter, Adara split it's femur bone down the middle with a large cleaver and tossed it over the green fire, an eternal flame that the lord provided her with.
As it cooked the chef raced to the large window that faced the rising red sun and looked into her small vegetable patch, thankfully, Adara was able to procure some potatoes, although small. It would get the job done.
Using the magic tool chained to the wall, she was able to boil them instantly, it was splendid that Hypnos had gone through a brief period playing with time magic.
Grating the potatoes as quickly as she could Adara was able to make a large clump of the heavy potato strings
Mixing it in a bowl with an egg and some corn-starch she switched out the potato construct with the bones that had been cooking.
The cooked bone marrow mixed easily with some sugar and upon resting on the fire for a few minutes, it caramelized well.
Scraping the caramelized bone marrow onto the now cooked hash browns, she smiled. Breakfast complete.
Placing my hard worked meal on a tray I made my way to the Lord's bedroom and knocked.
I heard some shuffling behind the door, but unfortunately no answer... I waited a moment and knocked again.
This time a low grumble came out from behind the redwood door, "enter..." Called the master.
Opening the door with one hand, the tray in another, I stepped inside to the lavender induced room, the smell making me sleepy
Ignoring the wave of tiredness, I tried to sound as neutral as possible, " I have prepared breakfast for you, my lord."
As I looked at the thick stone mask protecting me from what was left of his most recent vessel, I was once again close to stumbling over in an induced sleep, the effect deities had on people proving itself once again.
Not even looking at the meal, Hypnos responded with disapproval, "no need, I'm not in the mood to eat right now, have it disposed of,"
Feeling a slight tug in my soul as my efforts go to waste, I nod and begin to take my leave.
"Hold on, Anara," calls Hypnos, "there's something I want you to do for me."
I feel a small jab of surprise overtake me, just for a moment, before the radiating tranquility overtakes me once again.
"Of course my lord, Anything," I say automatically, the effect of [Enslaved] pushing me to be more subservient.
He nods, already expecting that answer, "I will have Ronan prepare you transportation, in which you will travel to the south, an auction is taking place and I must have a certain item, you will be informed of the detailed soon, just be prepared to leave within the hour."
He ends it there, leaving me further confused on why he would want a simple servant take control of a seemingly important task, but not wanting to challenge such a powerful monster, I nod and leave, the makeshift breakfast still steaming.
