Adara wakes up maybe an hour in to screaming, throwing her heavy cloak off herself, she quickly switches to a crouching position, her hand flying to the bone dagger resting on her hip.
"God damnit! How do I log out!" Yelled the lunatic of a man that adara spoke to a day before
Adara, startled by the sudden commotion, blinked in confusion at the man's frantic outburst. "Log out? What manner of madness are you babbling about now?"
The man, visibly distressed, fumbled around, patting his own body in a frenzied search. "The log-out button! I can't find it! How do I get out of this game?"
Adara's patience reached its breaking point. "There is no log-out button, no game to escape from! This is reality, stranger, not some fantastical realm you can simply exit at will!"
As the man continued his frantic search for a nonexistent "log-out" method, Adara realized the gravity of the situation. She grasped his shoulders firmly, staring into his bewildered eyes. "Listen to me. Whatever delusion clouds your mind, this world is real, and danger lurks in every shadow. Snap out of this insanity, for your own sake!"
But the man, lost in his panic, continued to mutter about log-outs and escape methods, oblivious to Adara's urgent warnings. With a heavy heart, she resigned herself to the fact that this peculiar traveler was beyond her help. She knew she had to proceed on her own, leaving the man to grapple with his illusions, hoping against hope that he would eventually realize the truth before it was too late.
Of course, in a curious twist of fate, the man calmed down quickly, nodding in a sense.of clarity "right, okay, calm down Lucas," he said to himself, "it's just like one of those novels, you're a sword art fan, you got this,"
Adara, watched, muttering a silent chant to herself, causing the runes glowing on her bone dagger to light up for a moment, she was worried he might have a fit, or even turn on her.
"Come on Lucas, believe in yourself, you wanted this, man, you literally prayed to God that you would be put in a fantasy novel."
Adara observed Lucas with a mix of concern and bafflement. His sudden change in demeanor, from frantic panic to self-reassurance, left her unsure of what to make of this stranger's erratic behavior.
"I don't know what 'sword art' or 'fantasy novels' you speak of," Adara remarked, her voice tinged with wariness. "But this world is not a tale spun for your amusement or desire. It's a harsh reality, where survival depends on wit and resilience, not fandom or wishes."
She tightened her grip on the bone dagger, cautious of Lucas's unpredictable behavior. The runes glowed faintly as a precaution, ready to react to any potential threat.
Lucas, seemingly oblivious to Adara's concern, continued to mutter encouragements to himself, a determined look etched on his face. "I can do this. I'm the protagonist now, right? Time to embrace the adventure! Just think about the harem that you're about to collect..."
Adara sighed, realizing that reasoning with Lucas about the true nature of their reality might be futile. She chose to keep a wary eye on him, prepared for any unexpected turns his mind might take as they continued their journey towards Corcilus. Her focus remained on fulfilling her duty, hoping to swiftly complete her task and part ways with the perplexing and unpredictable Lucas.
