Chapter 2 - 02. Talent

7 legs, he was able to do everything in only seven minutes. Is he really a five year old. No child, no matter the education method will never ever even think of climbing the cliff.

"Congratulations you got the highest record in history, beating it by 6 minutes at that, an unfathomable achievement."

I couldn't even speak loudly, everything was just unreal. The moment I announced it, the children that were still there heard it. Thankfully the young master and young lady was not here at the moment. He is lucky they are still young to even act arrogantly at things. The commoners never had the right to either way, but it is obvious they understood something.

"Nothing!" The kid just popped up in front of him. "What?!" I replied. My entire tought was stopped. "I said nothing. There is nothing for you to be so serious about!". The kid continued. "I can totally read your face, you're worrying that I would get hate for being better than the noble family, but what are you an idiot.". At that moment I wanted to just stop him, but he continued and I couldn't interject. "A five year old wouldn't be like that, all they know how to do is follow the simple instructions their parents and the adult said, they would never harbor hate!". I couldn't speak. Actually I just couldn't process this kid. He is talking about the intellecence and understanding of a five year old, when is one himself.

"Aren't you five yourself?". I was just curious and my curiousity couldn't hold the thought of finding more about this kid. "Cause i'm special. Anyway! When can I hold a sword.". The kid just changed his intimidating personality back to his cheerful one. How can a child be so shrewd. This is unrealistic, actually it's just impossible, this is no five year old kid, this kid is much older than he seems.

'Well that was fun, that man's thinking has probably been destroyed, hahahaha. He probablt exaggerated everything by now. Oh we- Swords!' I was walking down on a different path. To the left part of the top of the hill. There was an entire establishment where the the sword was at.

The entire place was huge and there was text above the entrance. "Soldier Camp 3". I couldn't wait so I ruman as soon as my eyes caught a glimpse of a single metal reflection.

I always knew my mother was a mercenary, she never told me nor have I ever even seen a sword in the house, but her body was clearly built like one. She has always been with me, and only her. I had no father to do heavy house works, but we never needed it as my mom could do everything. My mom was amazing and as soon as I finish this I will ask her to teach me.

I went straight to the swords like a mindless child. I knew I was not allowed to by common sense, but I just so wanted to look at it closely.

"Stop staring at the sword, you're not allowed here, wait for everything to start. Go to the benches and wait there, make some friends while you wait." A man just came to me and emotionlessly said all that. He smirked at the last part thinking I was an outcast. 'Hmph, I wanna fight him.'

I went back to the entrance and left to it was the benches where the kids were at. I just got talked to by one of the soldiers in this camp, they probably don't wanna talk to me now. 'Well that"s much better to me, I need to lessen my communications with the students as much as possible. They are not only a waste of everyones time, but I can't waste a second not training after I start everything.'

I sat on an area with the least people and had the most parents. With this, no one will go to me. But this feels eerily something... yeah it's just me.

Time went by and everything started. 'I knew it, no one will talk to me, I really thought I was gonna get bothered there.'. Many soldiers gathered at the middle of the training ground. This place was huge. It had a really big flat area at the middle where even when 50 people gathered everytjing was still open to be ran through by many children.

"6 people will be called at the same time, we will lead everyone according to the tester they will be spar.". The one that talked wasn't a normal tester. He had a huge white beard and long white hair. He is probably the head master of the school or leader of the camp.

Anyway I don't care, all I care is my beating heart that can't wait to hold a sword. It also seemed like my mom is on the other side. I guess even without paying she could still watch. I had good eyesighr so I could see her worry. I never ever touched a sword, nor learned how to. Unlike the other children who probably played with swords like toys since at such a young age. 'Wait they are young, what did I say by that, hehe, i'm funny.'

I truly did not know how to use a sword, but I didn't care. I am a genius, I can learn anything just by seeing it. That means i'll just learn by watching the soldiers fight. Maybe there could be a child better than them too.

"Deruk!"

So that's the young master. The heir to the baron of my 'area...?'. His eys look very confident but by looking at the way he holds his sword, he can't win this. 'Well no one has, but I will.'. I observed that match carefuly. The kid has clearly learned something. He had a normal sword stance, but he acted arrogantly and eaised it to attack his opponent. 'So just like everyone, mom said nobles learn at 4, but I guess it's just been a few months or even just weeks when he learned the sword.'

He lost, that was expected, why would you raise your sword leaving so much openings to such a small body. The young lady went next and what I saw was interesting. I thought the young lady wouldn't be participating, cause from what I learned from Hero Karu, female nobles don't hold a sword. But even then, the way she holds her sword was exactly like the soldiers. She couldn't have possibly learned swordsmanship if it's the same as Hero Karu's world, but maybe she did. If not, I guess she's a small time genius which could almost be as good as me.

She stood with the normal sword stance. With her sword at her front. She ran but unlike her idiot brother, she didn't raise it high up but carried it on her side. When got close she swung from the right aiming for his nexk. The man blocked and parried her sword by just tapping it lightly and pushing it to his left. Without a pause he striked his sword down to her and she also lost. But it was a good attempt.

'No one has yet to win, I do wonder how they test who pass...'. Well it's my turn now, so I couldn't think about it. It's sad they skipped the way they pick the passer on the story of Hero Karu, but he passed when he won, so I just need to do the same.

I was put on the same tester as Sirel, with this I could just do the same as her. With the way they underestimate us, he probably will do the same thing he did to Sirel.

While I was walking towards the are, I looked at my mom and smiled. 'I'll win, no problem, i'll humiliate this tester as much as I can.'

I took hold of the sword and heart raised sky high. I couldn't even hold my excitenent and held it with two hands and rubbed my face on it. The sword was a simple wooden sword, but it had a gaurd cross which is my source of victory later. I looked like a creep and a tester stopped me and told me to go on the field now. I looked at my tester and he probably was disturbed by what I did, but oh well, I feel disturbed by your face and skills too.

I went on the same spot everyone went. I held my sword properly on my right hand and raised it. I started with no hesitation. I ran at him with my sword on right. I did the same as Sirel and swung my sword from the right aming for his neck. He blocjed and parried it too. 'Like I expected'. At this moment he probably thought I was captivated by Sirel and watched her battle and just copied her. But you're wrong, I just had noone else better to copy from.

He striked his sword down. I instantly retracted my sword rhat he parried before. I use the gaurd cross of the sword to block his strike. At that moment before he could even react to my block, rather than pushing his sword back, I twisted my sword from the right and pushed his sword downward. And without an ounce of hesitation I ran my sword to the open air and his open neck.

"I win, old man."
