With eyes that shone with determination, Serena entered the court room at the announcement of her arrival. With the two guards beside her, her appearance shocking everyone present in the hall, including her mother, sisters and brothers as well as her husband who sat on a their respective thrones.
She greeted and bowed to the empress, who stared at her with flickering eyes, but then composed herself as she spoke, with ever word carrying her unchallenged authority.
" Crown princess Serena Van Roseletta, you have been found guilty of the crime of trying to murder a total of hundred and twenty slave turned criminals. You have tried to destroy the priceless lives of these humans, do you accept your crimes?"
"Yes your majesty", Serena spoke in a voice devoid of any emotions in a tone neither submissive now overbearing. No one expected her to accept the charges so easily. All the members of the opposing factions were ready with records containing all of her past evil deeds, eager to see her struggle yet fail as they stepped on the head of this useless yet arrogant princess who had shamelessly occupied the throne of the crown princess.
"Very well, since you have admitted to your crime I shall present your punishment. Crown princess Serena Van Roseletta-"
"Please wait your majesty!" Without caring about anything, Serena cut in between the empress' sentence causing everyone present to suck in their breath. She raised her head to look at the empress and her husband with her cold, emotionless eyes.
" Forgive me, but before pronouncing my punishment, please authorise crown prince Adrian's and my divorce papers. I do not wish to burden anyone with my misdeeds, I committed the crime and only I wish to suffer their outcome. He should not be labelled as the official husband of a criminal. Please your majesty, you were the one who bestowed this marriage upon me, but I am unworthy of it." Saying her part, she ignored the shock in everyone's eyes, particularly in Adrian's sea green eyes that trembled slightly with deeply hidden emotions.
The empress' eyes flashed with a knowing look as she turned her eyes towards the crown prince and then the fourth princess, before speaking once again after authorising the divorce papers.
"Ok then, from today onwards you and crown prince Adrian are divorced and seperated. Now your sentence, Crown princess Serena Van Roseletta, from now onwards you are stripped off your title and powers and are banished to the cursed star planet for the next 25 years and are to leave this planet within the next four hours."
The hall once again plunged into total silenceas everyone turned their heads to look at the crown... no, the 1st princess, who stood there with her head lowered.
'But I'm still her daughter and the 1st princess in name. So I need to cut off these ties as well to complete the quest, right system?'
"Yes host."
As everyone thought that the pampered 1st princess was in a shock, Serena dropped down on her knees, shocking everyone even more.
"I accept the punishment your majesty, I shall leave the palace and planet immediately, that too without anything, but please remove me from the title of the 1st princess as well. Please remove me from all the rights and duties of the imperial palace or that of anyone related to it and vice-versa, to have no interference from the palace or any related power on anything related to me, be it good or bad, prosperity or destruction or even life or death!"
