Chereads / SPIDER-MAN / Chapter 51 - 51) Apple Pie & Coffee

Chapter 51 - 51) Apple Pie & Coffee

Sitting outside a nice little coffee shop with an apple pie with whipped cream and a glass of coffee was Vulcan. Using a spoon, he would eat his food while taking a sip of his coffee frequently.

His area was desolate, and not a sound could be heard. What was once a busy commercial steet was not completely devoid of any signs of life.

A small buzzing sound appeared around his ear. "Sir, it would seem Siren has passed away," said the voice.

"I guess that means he refused our offer, and not only that, he killed one of our dear friends. I'll make sure once our duty is fulfilled to give her a proper funeral with the screams of the man who killed her," he replied with anger, crushing the metal spoon in his hands until it was as thin as paper.

"Whiplash and Firepower have also failed in their mission; I'm sorry for recommending them, sir. I won't make the same mistake again," replied the voice.

"It's ok; I must say I didn't expect Stark to win. How surprising. It's no problem, though; it doesn't change our plans much anyway. Have we found 3D-Man yet?" he asked.

"I'm afraid not, but it would seem he's not alone; from what I can see, he's currently with Spider-Man. Should we eliminate him?" questioned the voice.

"He's an unknown variable, so I think it's best to remove him," he replied.

"Understood! By the way, it seems a certain tiger girl is heading in your direction; should I send someone to intercept?" asked the voice.

"No, I need a little warm-up. It's been a while since I've had a fun challenge, and I have high hopes for her, especially when she is such a brovado. Let's see if she can back it up," replied Vulcan.

"I hope you enjoy your game, sir," added the voice.

"I said you can drop the sir; you've already done more than enough," Vulcan said.

"I can never do more; at least let me do this, sir," replied the man, followed by static.

BEHEMOTH & HAWKGIRL

In the middle of the road, with his guard held up, was Behemoth, as a pile of bullets fell in front of him. People with masks and scrafs covering their faces were shooting at him from cover, slowly getting picked off by Hawkgirl.

Soon the flurry of bullets came to a stop, and Behemoth rose up, dusting his shoulders, while Hawkgirl jumped down from the second story of the neighbouring building.

"This is insane," exclaimed Hawkgirl as Behemoth grunted in response.

"Woah, aren't you a large one? Not often do I meet someone taller than me," said a voice from behind them.

He was almost as tall as a behemoth and also had a muscular physique. He wore a pair of jeans with a white vest, letting everyone see his arms that seemed like bears. He had blonde short hair and muttonchops with weird cuts on his knuckles, and he walked with a sense of pride towards the two while taking off his glasses and placing them in his pocket.

"Hawkgirl, call for backup and get somewhere safe until they arrive. He's not someone we can take on; I'll be lucky if I can even stall for time," commanded Behemoth, raising his arm in front of her, like protecting a child.

"Understood," replied Hawkgirl, slightly afraid, before running off and touching her earpiece.

"Running already? It would seem you know who I am; well, I'd be surprised if you didn't gather information on me and my fellow members." the man said.

Behemoth didn't speak in response but instead clenched his hands as the veins popped out and his eyes frowned in anger.

"Stalling for time, are you? Well, let's see how long you can last, though I should warn you not to get me angry because then you'll definitely die. Painfully." The man stated it seriously.

Behemoth stayed stoic as the man cracked his neck, knuckles, and wrists.

"Let's get this over with," added the man, starting to sprint towards Behemoth, who took on a boxing stance.

10 MINUTES EARLIER

"I see a group of people holding guns up ahead," said Peter while swinging through the steet, 3D-Man riding his bike through the abandoned cars not far behind.

"Let's kick some asses, yeah," he replied.

"Roger that," replied Peter.

A group of the armed stood in a circle with their guns in their hands, talking, oblivious to the two coming towards them. They had cars surrounding them, making it seem like a small camp with nearby bins lit on fire.

"This has been a lot easier than I thought it would be," said one of them.

"Na, we just got lucky. I heard Greg's group get annalised by Captain America himself," replied the other.

"Oof, that's rough. In the clips I've seen, I think Greg will take awhile before he can walk again," replied the man.

Two strands of web appeared on the other's shoulder. "Huh, what the fuck is this? Semen?" said the man before being slammed into the ground, Peter standing on top of him.

"Why does everyone think that?" questioned Peter, a bit irritated.

"Hey, put your hand up now. It's ok, Jake, I got him," said the other.

"Ooh, that seems painful," said Peter before jumping in the air.

"Huh?" questioned the man before getting rammed by a speeding motorbike and rolling across the floor unconsciously.

A little while later, 3D-Man came running. "See that?" he exclaimed.

"He didn't even see it coming," replied Peter, and the two clapped hands, bringing each other in.

Peter senses went wild as he turned around, swiftly webbing up a gun and yanking it away from the man.

"We should probably save this for later, right?" asked 3D-Man, raising his fists.

"I think so too," replied Peter, bending down with one hand on the floor and the other in the air, along with his legs spread out behind him. The sounds of yells and people clocking their guns are coming from all over.

"Let's do this," said 3D-Man.

"Dam right," replied Peter, as a group of armed men came from behind the shield of burning cars.
