Chapter 54 - 54) Webs & Claws

Peter stood in front of Behemoth and looked at him with horror. He was full of holes, and blood continued to pour out from everywhere. "You're going to be okay," claimed Peter, bending down and stretching his webs across Behemoth's wounds, trying to stop the bleeding.

Behemoth took hold of Peter's hand, stopping him from helping him. "Stop; it's already too late for me," replied Behemoth. Peter could feel how weak he was with his lethargic grip and his eyes, which were almost lifeless.

"Don't you dare die; I'm sure there are still things you want to do in this world," retorted Peter.

Behemoth slightly grinned "Of course, but life doesn't always go as planned," he retorted.

"Stop thinking about how you're going to die and instead think about being alive," replied Peter, gently placing Behemoth's hand on the floor before continuing to wrap up his wounds.

"I've already lost too much blood, let alone the hole in my heart. Spiderman. No matter what you do, I'll still die, and you can't change that. I appreciate your kindness and your desperation, but the only thing you can do for me now is make sure no one else dies. That's all I want," replied Behemoth.

Peter started to tear up. "I think this is the most I've seen you speak," he added while letting his arms fall in defeat.

"I'm not much of a talker," replied Behemoth.

The two stayed in silence for awhile, with only Behemoth's heavy breathing being heard.

Sabertooth looked at them from a distance and let them have their moment, looking at the ground.

"Good luck, Spiderman, go kick his ass," said Behemoth as the life in his eyes faded and his whole body became limp, with his heavy breathing coming to a halt.

"I'm sorry for your loss," said Sabertooth.

"Shut up" replied Peter looking at Behemoth's body one more time, at how his body was abused and skewered. He got back to feet and closed his eyes, trying to stop the tears with his fists clenched.

"Finally backup, where's Behemoth?" questioned Hawkgirl coming from behind the truck. She turned the corner to see the aftermath of his fight and gasped, holding her hand over her mouth. Her eyes started to water ans she could only look at him in silence while stopping her tears.

Peter sniffled before turning around and talking to Hawkgirl. "Let's kick his ass for Behemoth," he said.

It took awhile, but soon Hawkgirl also turned to face Sabertooth. "For Behemoth!" she replied.

"I'll give you both the same choice I gave him. Join us, and I won't hurt you. I know it's rich after killing your friend, but he gave me no choice. At least listen to our story," added Sabertooth.

"Stop, just stop. No matter how sad your story is, it doesn't excuse you from this; so many people are dead because of you! There's always another way, always." replied Peter.

"I'll take your response as a no," replied Sabertooth, disappointed, while his metal claws slowly released from his knuckles.

"I'll face him head-on; act as support," asked Peter.

"Got it!" replied Hawkgirl, readying her bow.

Sabertooth started to rush towards the two, and Peter rushed towards him. Hawkgirl shot an arrow towards Sabertooth, who clawed away before swiping towards Peter.

Peter slid on his knees through Sabretooth's legs, and as he turned around, Peter kicked him straight in the jaw. Sabertooth was surprised by his power but continued his attack none the less.

He went for a vertical slash, which Peter moved sideways out of the way as Sabertooth used his other claw to stab Peter. Peter moved his head out of the way before punching him in the face.

Sabertooth took a few steps back. "You're stronger than you look," he said. Peter didn't reply and instead waited for Sabertooth to attack again.

With his back against Hawkgirl a set of two arrows dug into his back. He looked around towards Hawkgirl.

"What you looking at?" asked Peter and as Sabertooth turned back to look at Peter he was met with two feet slamming into his face. Peter flipped backwards and landed on the ground in front of him.

Another arrow pierced his back, and his eyes became covered in web fluid. Peter started to flurry him with punches while Sabertooth clawed away the webs with ease, slicing Peter's suit, leaving claw marks but, thankfully, no cut or wound.

"You're starting to piss me off!" said Sabertooth.

"And? Why do I care?" replied Peter.

"Oh, you'll see," replied Sabertooth, rushing towards Peter again as more arrows landed on his back.

A flurry of swipes and stabs were sent Peter's way, but he dodged everyone of them, even countering between them. Sabertooth went for another slash, which Peter dodged by stepping backwards, but without realising it, his back now faced a wall, and Sabertooth was directly in front of him.

He went for a stab, and Peter managed to jump up and hang on the wall before being grabbed and slammed into the ground. Before he had time to think, he had an awful pain in his lower chest that was also warm while he groaned.

Blood poured out but before he could even concentrate on the pain Sabertooth tried to stab him again. Peter's webs latched on a nearby lamppost and he managed to pull himself out of the way as a trail of blood was left on the concrete.

Hawkgirl shot another arrow towards Sabertooth, who easily swung it away this time, and now his focus was on her.

"Shit!" Peter muttered as Sabertooth started to run towards Hawkgirl. He quickly stretched some web across the wound, stopping the bleeding for now, before getting back up to his feet.

Sabertooth charged towards Hawkgirl, who was now in a state of panic and started to also run away after all her arrows got deflected.

Peter started to swing towards them, and as he started to fall to the ground, he webbed up a nearby manhole and swung it towards Sabertooth, hitting him in the leg and causing him to tumble to the ground.

Sabertooth got back up to his feet as Peter dragged the manhole back towards him. "You're getting on my nerves!" he said, agitated.

"Awww, that's hiss-terical," replied Peter mockingly.
