Chereads / SPIDER-MAN / Chapter 14 - 14) Delilah (3)

Chapter 14 - 14) Delilah (3)

Peter didn't want to make the same mistake as last time and quickly webbed Delilah's leg to the floor, but she threw a knife in response towards his chest. He was in an awkward position and had to completely move out of the way last second causing himself to fall. She threw another knife at him while using another one to cut through the web.

Peter laid back on the cold concrete to dodge the second knife and did a kick-up, to stare down at Delilah who got back up to her feet. She now held her knife in her reverse grip and cracked her neck.

She rushed in and slashed towards Peter's neck with great speed and accuracy, cutting his costume. Peter went for a kick to her torso but was blocked and Delilah flipped her knife into a hammer grip. She stepped forwards and slammed it downwards and Peter held her wrist to stop the knife.

While Peter prepared to punch her while gripping her wrist tightly, Delilah turned the knife downwards digging into Peter's flesh. Despite the pain, Peter continued with his punch and hit her straight in the chest.

Delilah continued to dig the knife into Peter's arm eventually making him take it away quickly before she did any more damage.

She barely missed his veins and the cut wasn't that deep thanks to the awkward position her hand was in, even so, it still hurt like a bitch and he held his wound tightly.

Delilah got back into a fighting stance and her wrist was a glowing red from where Peter gripped. She spit out some blood onto the floor and went on the offensive again, not giving Peter time to recover.

Peter shot some more web towards her eyes but she blocked them with her other hand and continued to charge towards him. He backed away from her trying to maintain some distance and he looked backward searching for something. 'Think Peter, Think. What can I do?' he questioned to himself. Things didn't go according to his plan and he was running out of tricks he could use, besides running away.

Peter's eyes went wide open and he shot his web out towards the street and swung overhead towards Delilah. Peter pulled some of the web towards him to make sure it would hit her.

Delilah continued rushing at Peter, 'What is he doing, Why did he web over there?' Delilah also thought. She tried to get a step ahead of him, but she wasn't used to fighting a 6ft spider.

Peter had webbed a manhole cover from the street and using his strength pulled it open and launched it towards Delilah with an overhead throw. Delilah managed to see what Peter had webbed and stopped and backed away while throwing her knife at him.

His sense of time slowed and using this he calculated everything he needed to. The speed and direction of the knife and the speed of the manhole cover and calculated the arc he needed to intercept the knife. He wiped the knife to the ground with the manhole cover and Delilah was left stunned.

'Was it a coincidence, pure fucking luck. Or did he plan for that to happen' she thought to herself, trying to explain what she witnessed. She quickly blocked it out of her mind, she didn't have time for such thoughts and rushed at Peter again. She had run out of knives, so all she had left was her fists. It was all or nothing.

Peter dragged the manhole back behind him and threw it by an overhand again this time hitting Delilah right on her shoulder. Her face squinted in agony but she didn't make a noise and continued her pursuit. Peter used his hand and pulled his web back and used his other hand to yank it back towards him. The manhole landed directly on Delilah's neck and all her air escaped.

She tumbled but quickly picked herself back up and like a bull charged towards Peter and screamed. She was too close and they both went for a punch to end it. It was close but Peter put too much wined up in his punch and Delilah made contact first, right on Peter's face. He got sent backward in the air, rolling and tumbling into the street.

Delilah stayed standing but motionless breathing rapidly and looking at the fall, letting her arms dangle, exhausted. Peter slowly picked himself back up and looked at the assassin. "I'm not finished yet," she told Peter before collapsing to her knees and eventually her face hit the concrete, unconscious.

"I think that's proof you are though," he said, before gasping for breath, placing his arms on his hips and looking at the sky. He slowly walked towards Delilah and webbed her up and dangled her from a lamppost. He attached a pair of incriminating documents about her on her web encasing along with a little note.

'Courtesy of your Friendly Neighbourhood SPIDER-MAN'

Peter called the police from another burner phone to lock her up and he crawled himself to the rooftop. He opened his backpack and got changed out of his costume, and started to fix himself up, He couldn't exactly show up to Uncle Ben like this. He'd think he was in an underground fighting ring, not a library.

His nose got fucked up pretty badly and he thought it might be broken so he had to crack it back into place. He seethed in pain but tried not to make a sound, to varying success. He waited for his nose to stop bleeding and looked as the police cars finally arrived.

A middle-aged man and a young man exited the police car and looked at the weird hung-up woman. "So he wasn't lying huh? Thought it would've been a prank call" stated the older one and turned on his flashlight. He had blonde hair and was quite tall.

"Look there's some documents and a post-it note on the weird cocoon thing." noticed the other one.

The blonde looked at and squinted trying to read it. "C.o.u.r.t.e.s.y Y.o.u.r F.r.i.e.n.d.l.y N.e.i.g.h.b.o.u.r.h.o.o.d Spider...Man" he muttered reading the note the best he could.

"How do we get her down?" he questioned.

The other one shrugged in response "I wasn't exactly trained for this sir."

"Neither was I" he replied still studying what the hell he was looking at.

Peter was now sure Delilah was in safe hands, somewhat. She was a Superhuman after all, but he did mention it in his call so he assured himself it was probably alright. He looked at the time, it was 8:15 already, and he had fifteen minutes to travel to the library, he was definitely going to be late, it took him half an hour to get here in the morning. He slightly worried and panicked, and started swinging back to the library as fast as he could.
