Chapter 17 - 17: Battle Of Strength.

The princess's sister was still with her grandfather and they were both sitting in front of the house on a bench while the sun continued to set.

" Maybe your sister has incurred some trouble along the way your father must be looking for you by now." He said, turning his gaze towards her.

" Well this is unlike her, she would have sent a guard to come see me home if she couldn't make it back here." She said, staring at the floor.

He leaned closer to her, patted her slightly on the head, and said, " I know how you feel, but you can come again tomorrow or maybe I'll bring her to the palace."

She didn't say anything after that and he slowly grabbed her right hand and immediately stood up from the bench.

As they began to approach the capital's gate a bad feeling began to unwell inside of him and the terrified looks on the faces of the guards only confirmed his thoughts.

" Is there anything wrong inside the capital?" He asked, approaching the both of them.

" We don't know for certain sir, but we've been told to continue our duty and not interfere." One of them replied.

" Look after the princess for me." He said, letting go of her and immediately ran off into the distance.

She immediately ran after him as well and one of the guards immediately chased after her leaving only one left at the gate.

As they came closer to the scene, they could see a few people standing by and the knights were trying their best to calm them down and hold them off.

He didn't need anyone to tell him what was happening because he could feel the massive amount of energy coming from the distance and when he came running through, everyone was quick to make a way for him.

" What is the situation's status?" He asked, approaching a knight who was standing a little far from the people.

He was wearing plate armor like the others but he had two gold badges to the right of his chest and one of them had a bow carved into it, a significance that he an archery master.

" I plan on heading there myself shorty, but I've sent three third-degree knights to ensure Princess Rose's safety." He replied, turning towards the direction of the commotion.

He cursed under his breath and immediately ran straight toward the direction as fast as he could.

When he got there, he saw a large black enclosure appear in the middle of the alleyway and after a few seconds, the princess came flying out of it with her whole body completely bruised.

He gasped as he looked at her lying on the ground and groaning and shortly after that, the dark enclosure went down and he could see the person behind all of it standing a little far away from them.

He slowly began to walk towards them and after a few steps, a great gush of wind blew towards them and the entity was sent flying.

He immediately looked to the side and could see a red furry coat flying and standing just a little far from it was a blonde man whose fist was still held out because he just flung it a second ago.

Right in the evening when the fight had just begun, the king was having a meeting and he was getting out of the throne room.

He wasn't wearing his crown and had curly yellow hair, squinted blue eyes, thin pink lips, and was about one hundred and eighty centimeters tall.

A red furry coat along with a yellow shirt black trousers and a pair of brown boots were what he was wearing.

He strolled along the confines of the fences and after a while he found himself standing in front of a shed that had stairs leading up to it from all four sides and was being supported by four pillars.

He slowly walked up the stairs and saw two boys who seemed to be about fourteen playing with wooden swords and at the other end was a girl who seemed slightly older than them and was meditating with a scroll lying in front of her.

" Oh Freda, have you seen Iris today?" He asked, approaching them.

" Good evening father." The two boys said, bowing their heads.

The girl immediately opened her eyes, bowed her head as well, and said, "Good afternoon Father. I saw her leave with elder sister Rose this afternoon."

" Afternoon? The sun's already set and they're still not home yet." He said, slightly rubbing their heads.

" Be sure to train harder, you'll be joining the academy soon."

" Yes, father." They both said in unison.

After that, he slowly descended from the shed and after a few steps towards the Castle, he heard the sound of the compass he was wearing around his neck rattling.

He brought it out and checked it to see that it was pointing towards the east and shaking violently.

" Such an enormous amount of energy, I hope Fredric is able to take care of it." He thought, turning towards the direction where the compass was pointing.

As soon as he turned around, he saw a knight running towards him and he was huffing and panting.

" Your Highness, Captain Fredric sends for your presence." The knight said, trying to regain his breath.

He gasped as soon as he heard that and immediately after that the compass he was wearing glowed a bright yellow and began to shake more violently while pointing towards the same direction.

" Rose." He mumbled and immediately dashed off.

The knight had to cover his eyes because of the air and when he looked towards the gate, the guards were in the same condition and the king was nowhere to be seen.

Dust went flying and people gripped tight onto their clothes as he ran through and the master archer was left wide-eyed as the huge gush of wind blew past him and immediately turned towards the direction where it went.

As soon as the king arrived at the destination, he saw his daughter get thrown out from a confinement he recognized quite well and without hesitation, he threw off his coat and punched the person standing in the middle of the confinement as soon as it went down.

He turned to his right and saw his father-in-law standing right in front of Rose along with her sister and just as he turned towards them he felt something right next to him.

Immediately he turned to his left and gripped the vine that was about to swing at his neck and ripped it out from the ground.

As soon as he gripped the vine he immediately faced his front and held out his fist which collided with that of the person heading straight towards him.

A great gush of wind blew from the point where they were standing and it was immediately followed by multiple cracks which originated from the point where they were standing.

He looked right at his opponent's evil glare and immediately backed away before taking a fighting stance.

He made an evil chuckle and said, "Less words and more entertainment. You're certainly leaps above the ones I've faced so far."

The king gritted his teeth and immediately dashed straight and just as he came close to him, he swung his fist straight towards his face.

The attack was blocked and resulted in another violent gush of wind but the impact of the attack still sent him flying.

He immediately got on his feet and a fist came right at his face and sent him flying further towards the east of the capital.

This time as the fist came towards him, he immediately jumped back and watched as the floor went cracking and instantly shattered.

" Such vigor I have to give credit to this body. I wouldn't be able to hold out this long under normal circumstances." He thought as he landed on the ground once again.

They stared at each other for a while and he immediately flipped up a rock with his right foot and kicked it straight towards him.

The king stepped hard on the ground and instantly dashed straight towards him, leaving the area where he was just standing completely cracked.

The attack was easily dodged and he kept heading straight towards the person standing right in front of him and sent a punch straight towards his face.

He used his left hand to deflect the incoming punch and a black ball of energy began to emerge from the tip of his fingers but before he could finish his attack, he was hit on the head.

The impact made his gaze fuzzy for a moment and right at that moment another impact came right at it and sent him flying away and crashing into a nearby building.

The king held his head and shook it slightly because of the pain and just when he looked up, he saw a black swirling portal appear just a little further in front of him.
