The week was really long not realizing the break was over. The two ladies went from one event to the other to be able to help Layla forget what recently happened. Going from club to parties to karaoke to trip was a fun one. The two of them spend the one week really well not realizing it has come to an end.
Thea and Layla lay miserable on the bed like one who was dead. They both drank really hard last night and now they are just there. The sound of Layla phone made a noise showing that a message was sent, then the noise came again. Layla rolled out of Thea body "oh my head" she placed her hand on her head then slowing opens her eyes to get her phone.
" I will need a coffee with no sugar, honey preferably, the temperature of the coffee should be around 195 to 205 degree". She wasn't sure who could send her those messages since the number doesn't carry a name she just threw her phone back and continue sleeping.
After what was like 30 minutes, her phone began to ring out loudly. No one seems to get up from the bed then it stopped and immediately again the call came through again, this time Thea tap Layla "get your phone, I need peace". Then Layla stretched her hand and reach out to her phone and pick the call.
" Miss Payne" Layla eyes were still closed and her hand were going through her hair which was messy "this is her". The person on the other end started talking " I sent you the schedule of Mr Logan Ford for the week, I guess you received it". Layla immediately opens her eyes and sat properly on the bed as she went through her emails. " oh yes I received it ".
"He has a meeting at 8 this morning, and he will be at the office in less than 30 minutes " Layla looked at the time and it was 7:14 am already when will she get dress. How did the week ran so fast and they did not keep notice of it. "Also while brewing his coffee, don't forget to get the right temperature, and honey".
She immediately remembered the message she read talking about coffee " Yes sir " she did not wait for whoever it was to end the call, she ended the call and tapping Thea who was still sleeping like a child " Get up, you need to get me to the office". She slowing opens her eyes " is one week gone already ".
Layla who does not know what to do next "I need 10 minutes to be done dressing and 10 minutes to be at the office " Thea who was still feeling sleeping did not just know what to do but stare at her. " help me, get a dress, anything ". She ran into the bathroom.
"It almost 30 minutes ", they were in the car already heading to Layla's office but she was not calm at all she wondered if mr Logan was already at the office. " Calm down, we almost there", Thea just wanted to calm her nerves because she seems really anxious, she trying her best on driving really fast which was against the rules of driving though she surprise why no police car is chasing her right now .
" I need to make him a coffee " Layla went through her phone again " I got 5 more minutes " Layla was hoping Thea can put more effort before she get to the office and getting to the elevator she would have exhausts the time left. "He should find himself a nanny" Thea said it but Layla paid less attention to her "and we are here ". Immediately Layla came rushing out of the car "thank you very much ".
She composed her walking step but she try walking fast but she could not help and she started running " you are late ". She recognize the voice immediately. It was the man who has giving her the work as a receptionist and now the assistant. He was like a father figure to her. " Has Mr Logan arrived " mr Yates who was trying to get an explanation of why she is late nodded negativity. " I will come and see you mr Yates " she ran immediately to the elevator.
She stood behind the desk with her hand shaking as she stir the glass of coffee then the door open. She knew it was Mr Logan and she took her the spoon kept neat one and stood with a smiling face. "Good morning sir " walking in was a man of nobility from his head to his feet, his walking step, his style of dressing, everything was so perfect.
"Gotten over your ex already, you look better than the last time I saw you" he sat down to have the glass of coffee "thank you sir ". He stretched out a file to her " My secretary would be hardly available but he will be here later in the day to instruct you on what to do" she nodded then he took the glass of coffee to his mouth and made an annoying look. "It is cold" Layla wasn't good in any aspect of this tho she was surprised at why it could have gotten cold "I just made that " she said in a low voice not allowing Mr Logan to hear her.
"What did you just say" She does not want to lose her job just yet she smiled at answer while she took the coffee cup from him " I will get another, my mistake sir". He should know how to make his own coffee right not everyone knows how to make one including her. " A mistake you say " he really one annoying one she just kept quiet and walk out.
After few minutes she got back with the coffee hoping for no complains. "What on my schedule today". Immediately she brought out the file as she went through it " you have a meeting right now with the directors " she was still going through the pages " you also have a lot of paper work to sign ". He looked at her with the look of he does not have any strength to sign any contract " what about that heritage deal contract ". She raise her head and when she realize that he was looking at her she face the file immediately.
She know she saw something about the heritage deal but where was it, she search through the files in her hand and immediately she saw it " You will be meeting with them by 12 in a hotel they will call later to tell us the location ". He nodded his head " Hope their information is there so you can reach out to then " He stood up " what else is on my schedule " he slowly started walking then Layla followed behind " you will be going to the factory and then " she was not allowed to talk finish as she was cut short " reschedule that ". She quickly open the door "Alright sir.
When they got to the meeting hall, immediately they saw Mr Ford, there was intense silent as no one dare to raise up their head, she quietly went round and be giving each and everyone a file. Being an assistant is really stressful, if Mr Thomas has not drop a voice message on how thing should be done, she was sure she would have gotten fired. After giving out the file I went to sit down to the seat which was at one corner of the hall but was right behind Mr ford.
"The meeting would start right away " The speaker stood but Mr Logan Ford raise a finger telling him to stop. From the look on his face, you could tell how scared thinking of if he has done something wrong. " You " He pointed to the man sitting opposite him in the first sit " Find else where to sit" The man was shaking as he slowing stood up and find another sit.
" Miss Payne " That was her name, she was not sure want wrong she has done yet again, she stood up and went to him " Sir" he pointed to the sit " Sit there ". She wasn't sure if she heard him right so she said "sir ". She dare not looking into his eyes, he just move his hand and without asking further questions she sat there. " we may proceed ".
The meeting took almost an hour, there was no single one who did not received a query from Mr Logan. Litrally even without staring the presentation, just by him going through your file he already sited something wrong. "Is this what you call that can bring money "the man just innocently stood there sweating " but sir " he stood up, she immediately follow "when you all are ready to discuss business, you let me know ".
He walk out of the room, she slowly bow to then and she left.she could feel the fear of those people in the room. Immediately I left the meeting hall she quietly call the heritage. As long as she does not want problem am she needed to be careful. When she got to the office she went to his office and he was going through some document.
She made a minute to admire he but it did not even last long because he raise his head up " The heritage already called in for where the meeting will take place but there is a little bit of change in time ". He raise his head up " the meeting is by 11 " she said trying not to look guity at least it not her fault, if she had not called she won't even know about it.
He looked at his time " almost 11" he stood up "They should make time before making arrangement" he walk out as he calls his driver " get a suit for me "he kept walking fast, how can I meet up "navy blue in color ". I went through the file to check up the names of who am going to call to get a suit but there were different name, I just called mr Thomas.
"He asked for a suit but there are different names, don't know who to call ". Being a boss is one time offer it comes with a price and everyone must respect that "just send me the location of the hotel I will send the person to get it " after a few second of silence " navy blue ". She does not want to get in trouble if it was a different colors "I will be coming to the office by 2, to engliten you on things ".
The meeting went smoothly, the deal wss sign, at least she don't have any problem with him today. He went home after the meeting. Mr Thomas and her discuss on how things were done. She will also be doing most of his part due to his mother illness. The day ran really fast as she hoped.....
