Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

Disha, lost in her own thoughts, was staring out of the car window. She was contemplating Aryan's peculiar behavior today and why he responded abruptly to Vidyut bhai. While immersed in these reflections, Disha was brought back to the present when Nita called out to her.

Disha, gathering herself, replied, "Yes, Mom."

Nita, brimming with excitement, inquired, "Have you decided anything? About the dress? What kind of dress are you planning to wear?"

Confused, Disha asked, "Mom, why the dress? I mean, is it necessary?"

Nita smiled and explained, "No, beta, it's not necessary, but if you want, we can get a designer dress. Alternatively, we can opt for a saree. Whatever you feel comfortable with."

Disha responded with a smile and nodded in agreement.

In a short span, Disha and Nita arrived at Disha's home. At that moment, only Disha's mom was present, as her dad had already left for work. Disha's mom welcomed them warmly, and they engaged in a lengthy conversation. Nita handed an invitation card to Disha's mom, urging her to attend the upcoming event.

As time was limited, Nita and Disha said their goodbyes and departed. Though Disha was reluctant to leave, she accompanied Nita. As soon as they got into the car, Nita instructed the driver to head towards the 'Elegance Creations' to explore dress options.

Nita, sensing Disha's unfamiliarity and disinterest in shopping, took the lead in selecting 2-3 dresses for her to try. Despite Disha's hesitance, she tried on each dress, unknowingly looking stunning in every one of them. Nita, faced with the challenge of choosing the best dress, decided to purchase all three, disregarding Disha's attempts to dissuade her.

On their way back, they stopped for lunch, considering the time constraints. With three newly acquired dresses in hand, they made their way back to the Singhania mansion.

After arriving home, Disha made her way to her room, where she neatly placed the newly purchased dresses in the closet. Exhausted, she laid down on the bed, and the weariness took its toll on her, prompting her eyes to close within a short span of time.

The living room buzzed with excitement as Sameer, Ishaan, and Abhi took charge of organizing the upcoming party. They were deeply involved in coordinating with the workers, providing instructions, and actively participating in the preparations. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and anticipation for the festivities. Disha, having refreshed herself, engaged in the conversations, discussing various aspects of the party and contributing ideas to the lively discussions.

As the evening progressed, the Singhania Mansion was adorned with sparkling lights, creating a captivating atmosphere. After a swift dinner, everyone retired to their rooms. Sameer left for his home, while Disha, deep in contemplation, chose to remain in her room, skipping dinner once again tonight.

Disha, feeling a bit bored, decided to switch into her comfortable nightwear. She then sat on the bed, picked up a book, and started reading, losing herself in the captivating pages as the night unfolded in silence.

Aryan, despite his increasing frustration throughout the day, had not yet realized the impact of his actions. He worked late into the night, feeling irritated every time he saw Vidyut in meetings.

As he arrived at the impeccably decorated Singhania Mansion, he suddenly remembered the party scheduled for tomorrow, an event he reluctantly acknowledged he had to attend. Despite his grievances with Vidyut, Aryan never disclosed their conflicts to his family, avoiding any revelations about their strained relationship.

In the room, Aryan found Disha engrossed in her book on the bed. Without uttering a word, he proceeded to freshen up in the bathroom. After dressing in nightclothes, he lay down on the bed without acknowledging Disha.

Expecting Aryan to realize his mistake and apologize, Disha was hurt by his indifferent behavior. When she looked at him with teary eyes, Aryan lay with his back turned, seemingly oblivious to her emotions.

Disha gently placed her book on the side table, preparing to rest. However, in a surprising move, Aryan pulled her towards him, wrapping his arms around her in a warm embrace as they lay on the bed.

Aryan continued to hug Disha silently, realising his mistake as his eyes fell upon the marks on Disha's hands caused by his firm grip.

Aryan, holding Disha in a tight embrace, saw her teary eyes, and the sight weighed heavily on his conscience. Unable to find the right words, he grappled with a profound desire to apologise and mend their strained connection.

As Disha sensed Aryan's struggle to express himself, she leaned in, tightening their embrace, bridging the emotional gap between them.

Disha, observing Aryan's turmoil, gently cupped his face in her hands, and a warm smile adorned her face. In that moment, her actions conveyed understanding and a genuine attempt to comfort Aryan despite his earlier harsh behavior. The silent exchange between them spoke volumes about the complexity of their emotions.

Aryan, speaking softly, said, "I'm sorry." In response, Disha uttered, "It's okay." However, she suddenly got up from the bed. Concerned, Aryan also sat down and asked, "What happened? Are you okay?"

Disha, pouting, replied, "I'm hungry." Aryan, realising the reason for her sudden movement, playfully remarked, "So, you got up in such a hurry because you're hungry?"

Disha innocently nodded, and her childish gesture melted Aryan's resolve. He couldn't help but chuckled.

Disha, with a playful display of faux anger, said, "Aryan, why are you laughing? I'm hungry!"

Aryan said, "Alright, wait, I'll bring food for both of us to the room."

Disha, content with Aryan's promise to bring food, smiled and settled comfortably on the sofa, waiting for his return from the kitchen.

After a while, Aryan brought the food and sat down on the sofa beside Disha, ready to eat comfortably. Following the meal, Aryan and Disha lay down on bed, with Aryan holding her close and she rested her head on Aryan's chest.

Unaware of the potential impact her question might have on Aryan, she asked him, "Aryan, what happened in the morning? Why were you so angry?"

Aryan got angry as soon as the mention of the morning incident came up. In an instant, memories of betrayal from his ex-girlfriend, which led to his resentment towards Vidyut, flooded back. Aryan tried hard to suppress his anger, but he couldn't entirely control it.

Aryan, suppressing his anger, said, "It's quite late, Disha. Go to sleep." With these words, he closed his eyes, but he still kept Disha close to him.

Disha couldn't comprehend the situation, but she sensed that Aryan was disturbed by her question. However, she remained uncertain about why Aryan had an issue with Vidyut.

As Disha drifted into a peaceful sleep, Aryan, burdened by the memories of his past, found solace in her innocence. Observing the tranquility on Disha's face, Aryan felt the weight of his troubles gradually lifting. He leaned in, tenderly kissed her lips, and then cradled her in his arms, finding comfort in her presence before succumbing to sleep himself.

Disha's eyes opened with the first light of dawn, determined to begin the new day afresh and forget about the events of the previous night. As she glanced to her side, the empty bed hinted that Aryan wasn't there, and she speculated he might be in the bathroom or closet. However, he wasn't in either place. Thinking he might have gone for a morning walk, Disha decided to take a quick shower. While she was getting ready, she remembered her neglected yoga routine, realising she needed to restart it soon.

After dressing in a blue saree and minimal makeup – as she wasn't in the mood for elaborate preparations – Disha found Aryan still absent from the room.

As Disha exited her room, she observed the gym door slightly open in the corridor. She went towards the gym and was about to knock, when Disha unintentionally overheard a conversation inside that caught her off guard. In surprise, she instinctively took a few steps back, processing the unexpected revelation.

In the gym, Aryan had a tight grip on Vidyut's collar, shouting angrily, "Everything that happened is solely because of you. You are solely responsible. If you hadn't interfered, she wouldn't have left me, and I wouldn't be hurting this much today. You are the reason for all of this."

Vidyut, freeing himself from Aryan's grip, stated, "I didn't do anything, Aryan. Payal was never worthy of your love. She was cheating on you. But you were so blindly in love that you couldn't see how she was using you."

In a fit of anger, Aryan exclaimed, "Yes, yes, I know she cheated on me. But she cheated on me with you. My cousin, whom I considered my best friend and a real brother." The revelation stirred a storm of emotions, leaving Aryan grappling with betrayal and hurt.

Vidyut, still trying to handle the situation, placed a hand on Aryan's shoulder and said, "Aryan, no matter how much I explain, you won't understand. There's no benefit in dwelling on the past. What has happened is done. Forget about it and focus on your marriage now. Pay attention to Disha."

Aryan, fueled by anger, forcefully shrugged off Vidyut's hand from his shoulder, stating, "Don't tell me what to do and what not. Stay away from me and my life."

Disha, overwhelmed by the sudden revelations, swiftly turned and left for her room, struggling to process the information.

Disha found it difficult to shake off Aryan's words, especially the notion that payal might not have left him if Vidyut hadn't intervened. The fear that Aryan might still prefer Payal lingered in her mind, intensifying her restlessness and prompting tears to well up in her eyes against her will.

Disha, determined to compose herself, rushed to the closet, locking the door behind her. She needed a moment alone to process the overwhelming emotions swirling within her. The fear of Aryan's lingering attachment to Payal haunted her, overshadowing the reality of their recent wedding. Deep down, Disha wondered if she could ever compete with Aryan's past and gain his undivided love and attention.
