Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

Disha tried to sleep, but sleep eluded her. She was afraid that something similar to last night might happen, or perhaps Aryan might give her a new punishment because of the hoodie incident.

Disha wasn't sure where these wild thoughts came from, and without much contemplation, she stepped out of her room. Standing in front of the last room in the corridor, she took a deep breath and before knocking on the door.

Nita, rubbing her eyes, opened the door and was slightly shocked and concerned to see Disha standing there so late at night. She quickly asked, "what happened, Disha? Are you okay, do you need anything?"

Raj, noticing the conversation, joined Nita near the door, sharing the same concern, he too inquired about the reason for Disha's unexpected visit at this late hour.

With a sad expression, Disha asked to Nita, "Mom, can I sleep in your room tonight? I'm feeling very scared."

Nita, initially stunned by Disha's request, then smiled and said, "Yes, beta, there's no need to ask. You can sleep comfortably here."

Disha, expressing her gratitude, entered the room, and stood near the bed. Nita was about to explain Raj about the situation, but Raj interrupted saying, "It's okay. You take care of Disha, she's not used to a new place yet, may be that's the reason she's unable to sleep."

Nita was pleased to hear Raj's understanding nature. Saying goodbye, Raj left for the guest room, closing the door behind him.

Nita walked towards Disha, holding her hand, and asked, "What happened, dear? Are you sure nothing's wrong? You can tell me."

Disha, replying with a smile, said, "Mom, nothing is wrong, really. I couldn't sleep, and I was feeling a bit scared, so I came here."

Nita, smiling, nodded as she listened to Disha. Since it was quite late, without much conversation, Nita told Disha to go to bed. After covering her with a duvet, Nita lay down as well. She started gently patting Disha's head and felt her drift into a deep sleep in no time.

Nita didn't mind Disha coming into her room, but the idea of Aryan not being with Disha late at night concerned her. Observing Disha in a sound sleep, Nita silently exited the room and made her way to Aryan's room, contemplating the situation.

Nita knocked on Aryan's door, waiting patiently for a response that never came. Concerned about his absence, she cautiously opened the door and discovered an empty room. Perplexed, she proceeded to Aryan's study, hoping to find him engrossed in work, yet the study room revealed no sign of him.

After not finding Aryan in the study, Nita thought of calling him to ask where is he? However, she remembered that she had left her phone in the room. As she headed towards the room to retrieve her phone, she noticed the lights were illuminating the staircase leading up to the terrace.

Nita felt relief as she approached the terrace and saw Aryan standing there. However, her relief quickly turned into concern when her gaze fell on the fire that was not far from Aryan. Nita hurriedly ran towards Aryan and pulled him back.

With concern etched on her face, Nita addressed Aryan, expressing worry about his well-being. She questioned him, "Aryan, are you okay? What are you doing here?"

As Aryan remained immersed in his own thoughts, Nita's unexpected tug brought him back to the present. Startled by the concern evident on Nita's face, Aryan quickly regained his composure. With a reassuring tone, he spoke, "Mom, I'm fine. Please don't worry about me." Despite the sudden interruption, Aryan attempted to assure Nita that everything was okay.

Nita, displaying her worry, pointed towards the fire and inquired, "What is happening here, Aryan? What are you burning?" After saying this Nita turned her gaze back to the fire. Upon closer inspection, she recognized the hoodie, It hadn't completely incinerated, and Nita could distinctly make out the item within the flames.

Aryan, deeply engrossed in his thoughts and staring at the fire, didn't offer a response to Nita's question. Sensing the weight of Aryan's emotions tied to his past, Nita decided not to press him further with inquiries. Instead, she chose to stand by him quietly as they both observed the diminishing flames.

As the fire gradually subsided, Aryan shifted his attention back to Nita. Troubled by his own thoughts, he broke the silence, "Mom, why are you still here? You should go to bed; it's quite late."

Understanding Aryan's concern for her well-being, Nita responded gently, "Yes, beta it's quite late and now you should get some rest."

With those words, Nita held Aryan's hand, and they walked together towards their respective rooms. Upon reaching the corridor, Nita bid him good night and turned towards her room.

Aryan, curious and still processing the events, called out, "Mom, why were you looking for me? How did you know I was on the terrace?"

Nita, facing Aryan, explained calmly, "I was just worried as you weren't in your room or the study, so I thought you might be on the terrace."

Understanding Nita's concern, Aryan nodded. Just as he was about to leave, Nita added, "Aryan, Disha isn't in your room. She has already slept in my room."

With that, Nita gently guided Aryan towards his room, leaving him with his thoughts.

Aryan stood outside the room, hesitating to enter. Meanwhile, Nita returned to her room and was preparing to lie down when there was a knock on her door, confirming her expectations. Opening the door, she saw Aryan and inquired, "What's the matter, Aryan?"

Aryan, feeling uneasy, struggled to find the right words, said, "Mom, I came to pick up Disha. Please let her know that I'm waiting for her outside the room."

Without uttering a word, Nita subtly shifted to the side, pointing towards the bed, silently indicating that Disha is already asleep.

After bidding Aryan goodnight, Nita was about to close the door. However, noticing that Aryan hadn't moved from the doorstep, she paused and looked at him. Instead of returning to his room, Aryan entered Nita's room and walked directly toward the bed. With great care, he lifted Disha in his arms, ensuring not to disturb her sleep. Afterward, he walked towards the door, softly saying, "Good night, Mom," before leaving the room.

Observing Aryan's considerate actions towards Disha, Nita found solace in the genuine concern reflected in his eyes. With a reassuring smile, she closed the door and settled in for the night.

As Aryan carefully carried Disha towards their room, Abhi, who was on his way to the room, observed the scene. He discreetly hid in a corner, Once Aryan entered the room with Disha still in his arms. Then wearing a mischievous smile, Abhi emerged from the corner.

Aryan gently laid Disha on the bed, covering her with a blanket before settling on the other side, maintaining a certain distance between them. Aryan found himself contemplating why he felt the need to bring Disha to this room instead of sleeping alone. Lost in these thoughts, he started to look at Disha, appreciating how adorable she appeared in her night attire, looking at Disha, he also peacefully went to sleep.

As the morning light streamed into the room, Disha slowly opened her eyes, greeted by a peculiar weight on her stomach. It felt as though something substantial had been placed there. Turning her gaze downward, she was surprised to find Aryan's hand gently resting on her abdomen, holding on as if afraid she might slip away.

Aryan's bare back, devoid of a T-shirt, caught Disha's attention, and the masculine contours left her momentarily captivated. The unexpected tranquility on Aryan's face, void of any lingering anger, further intrigued Disha.

Disha, overwhelmed by the sight, leaned in and planted a soft kiss on Aryan's cheek. She then carefully moved his hand away from her stomach and headed towards the bathroom, entirely oblivious to the subtle smile on Aryan's face.

Disha, while taking a shower, suddenly remembered that she had slept in other room. She wondered how and when she came to this room. Blushing at the thought that Aryan must have brought her here, she became lost in her thoughts.

Disha emerging from her shower and wrapping herself in a bathrobe, headed towards the closet. Her attention shifted to Aryan, who was still asleep. Choosing a light purple saree from the closet, Disha got ready, and emerged from the closet. Seeing the empty bed, she assumed Aryan was in the bathroom based on the sound of running water.

Seating herself at the dressing table, she dried her wet hair with a blow dryer, applied light makeup, and adorned herself with sindoor and bindi, completing her look. Dressed in a way that showcased her marital status, Disha looked absolutely stunning.

She glanced at mirror once again and satisfied with her look, she moved towards the other side and started tidying up the bed. Aryan, now out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his lower body, caught Disha's gaze. Water dripped from his hair onto his well-built shoulders, and his masculine physique left Disha momentarily awestruck.

Aryan, noticing her attention, smirked and cleared his throat, startled by the voice, Disha looked at Aryan and upon seeing smirk on his lips, she got embarrassed knowing that he had caught her gawking at him, feeling awkward by her own actions, she fled the room, her mind in a whirlwind. As she rushed out, the tinkling sound of her anklets resonated, pleasing Aryan, who, with a smile, proceeded to the closet to choose his outfit.
