Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Upon Disha and Kajal's arrival at their residence, Disha's mother promptly instructed them to expedite their preparations, noting that the clock had already struck 2, and they had to depart in sometime to ensure their timely arrival at Singhania Mansion by 3.

Disha retreated to her room, finding a carefully arranged ensemble laid out by her mother – a purplish lehenga, matching jewelry, accessories, and heels. With precision, she adorned herself in the lehenga, ensuring her hairstyle and makeup remained intact.

Soon after, Kajal entered the room, extending a helping hand in putting on the jewelry and accessories. Disha, with care, completed her look by donning a pair of heels. Upon inspecting herself in the mirror, satisfaction gleamed in her eyes.

Following this, Kajal, exuding joy, embraced Disha warmly. "Disha, you look absolutely stunning."

With the final touches in place, Disha descended to the living room, allowing Kajal the space and time to prepare herself comfortably.

Nisha entered the living room to find her parents already dressed and eagerly waiting for her. Seeing Disha, they expressed their joy and affectionately embraced her.

Disha's mom, in a protective gesture, applied kajal behind her ears to ward off any evil eye, prompting Disha to playfully pout and request her not to. Despite Disha's protest, her mom went ahead, and then their attention was diverted when the doorbell rang.

Disha's father answered the door, revealing Disha's friends who had come to join the celebration. They were warmly invited inside.

By then, Kajal had also finished getting ready, and after placing the gifts and ceremonial items in the car, the group set out for Singhania Mansion.

In the car, Disha and Kajal sat in the back, carefully handling the gifts, while Disha's parents occupied the front seats. In the second car, Vishal was driving, with Aditi and Vikram seated in the back.

Disha felt a mix of sadness and happiness, knowing that Kunal hadn't come. However, she realized that distance from her was necessary for him to move on.

Lost in her thoughts, Disha didn't realize when they arrived at Singhania Mansion. Everyone got out of the cars. Kajal and Disha's mom, carried the gifts and ceremonial items as they entered the mansion.

As Disha stepped into Singhania Mansion, she was greeted by an unexpected shower of flowers, creating a magical and jubilant atmosphere. The air was filled with joyous applause as friends and family celebrated her arrival. The entire scene was a testament to the effort put into making her feel special on this auspicious occasion. Disha couldn't help but smile, appreciating the warmth and love that surrounded her at Singhania Mansion.

As Aryan's eyes landed on Disha, he felt like time stood still. Disha looked so stunning and lovely that Aryan was captivated, unable to divert his gaze. The elegance of Disha's lehenga and her understated makeup seemed to have enchanted Aryan. When Disha noticed Aryan looking at her, their eyes locked momentarily before Aryan immediately averted his gaze to look elsewhere.

Nita came forward and warmly embraced Disha, followed by extending a heartfelt welcome to Disha's mom and everyone present.

Nita led Disha and Aryan to the stage, which was adorned with a beautifully arranged seating for the couple, ensuring an aesthetic and comfortable space for Disha and Aryan. Nita, with a warm gesture, seated them close to each other, emphasizing the togetherness and intimacy that the occasion demanded. However, as soon as Nita turned to descend from the stage, both of them quickly moved away and sat at a distance.

In a short while, the event started with the performance of few artists. After that Ishaan, Abhi, and Sameer danced enthusiastically. Aditi and Kajal also showcased their dance skills.

Gradually, the entire atmosphere turned festive with the lively Sangeet celebration.

The vibrant celebration echoed with laughter and joy as guests engaged in lively conversations. On the stage, Sameer and Aryan found a corner to share some moments of camaraderie. The lively atmosphere was complemented by the artistic strokes of mehendi being applied to Disha's hands and feet.

Despite Aryan's attempts to resist, his gaze involuntarily gravitated towards Disha, who was glowing in the celebration. Sameer, observant as ever, couldn't help but notice Aryan's subtle glances and decided to have some good-natured fun by teasing him about it.

As the night unfolded, guests began to bid their farewells, and Disha's friends gathered to accompany the couple. In the midst of this, Disha's mehendi neared completion, displaying intricate patterns and designs. It was then that Nita, with a mischievous gleam in her eyes, approached with a playful request for the mehendi artist to hide Aryan's name in the design, challenging him to find it later.

The mehendi artist, with a nod and a smile, took on the challenge, adding an element of suspense to this already memorable night.

The Mehendi function concluded, and everyone settled at the dining table to start dinner. Despite Disha's attempts to keep some distance from Aryan, Kajal tactfully arranged for Disha to sit beside him.

Aryan noticed that Disha wasn't eating, so he whispered to her, "Eat your food, or do you enjoy creating scenes every time?"

Hearing Aryan's words, Disha felt quite angry, but her hunger got the better of her. She showed Aryan her mehndi-covered hands, explaining why she couldn't eat.

Aryan glanced at Nita, seeking assistance, but before Nita could say anything, Kajal intervened, saying, "Aryan jiju, you're sitting right next to Disha, so why don't you feed her?"

Kajal's comment brought the entire Singhania family to a pause, with all eyes turning towards Aryan. Aware that Aryan wasn't comfortable with such close interactions, the family anticipated his reaction, wondering how he would handle the situation.

Disha, shocked by Kajal's suggestion, wished for the earth to swallow her, preferring hunger over the awkwardness. However, defying expectations, Aryan took the initiative and placed the first bite in front of Disha's mouth, breaking the stunned silence. Disha awkwardly ate from Aryan's hands.

The Singhania family, still in mild shock, gradually resumed their dinner, and Nita couldn't conceal her joy witnessing the evolving bond between Aryan and Disha.

As dinner concluded, the family regrouped in the living room, sharing smiles and laughter, making the evening memorable for all.

After exchanging goodbyes, Disha and Disha's parents, along with Kajal, departed from the Singhania mansion to make arrangements for the wedding day. Aryan's eyes lingered on Disha as if he wanted to memorize every detail of her until their car vanished from his sight. It was a moment that hinted at the complex emotions swirling within him.

Disha, after reaching home, went straight to her room, taking a quick shower and changing into shorts and a T-shirt. She sat on her bed, looking at the mehendi designs on her hands. They say the darker the color of the mehendi, the more your spouse loves you.

Disha's hands displayed a rich hue, but the thought that her future husband's love wasn't reflected in those patterns made her smile sadly.

"Tomorrow marked a crucial day in Disha's life – her wedding day. Despite her lack of enthusiasm about the impending marriage, a strange restlessness lingered within her. Lost in thoughts, she eventually drifted into sleep."

As the dawn broke and the first rays of sunlight gently kissed Disha's face through the curtains, she stirred from her sleep. However, an unexpected surge of emotions overwhelmed her. Today marked her final day in this familiar abode.

The impending transition to a new phase of life after the wedding filled her with apprehension. Leaving her family behind, Disha was acutely aware that she would soon step into a new home, amidst unfamiliar faces she had yet to forge connections with. The magnitude of change weighed heavily on her.

Lost in her thoughts, Disha was seated on the bed when Kajal emerged from the bathroom after taking a shower. Disha decided to freshen up as well and headed towards the washroom.

After showering, Disha adorned a pink full-sleeve Anarkali dress. Without bothering to dry her wet hair, she applied minimal makeup and entered the living room. Disha's parents and Kajal were engrossed in deep conversation about the wedding.

Disha was aware that she had to fast today, but her mom reminded her nonetheless.

Disha's mom said, "Disha, don't eat anything by mistake. After the wedding, both you and Aryan will break the fast together, and until then, no food is allowed for both of you."

Disha replied, "Yes, Mom, I know. Don't worry; I won't eat anything. I want to go to the temple. Will you come with me?"

Disha's mom said, "Dear, I have a lot of preparations to do. You and Kajal go to the temple, but come back soon."

Disha and Kajal set out for the temple, chatting along the way. Upon reaching the temple, after performing the rituals, Disha sat there for a while, finding immense peace in the temple's ambiance. After a brief moment, the two friends headed back home.

Having showered and dressed casually, Aryan was the first to enter the living room. The thoughts of the impending wedding seemed to have robbed him of his sleep. As everyone gradually gathered and took their seats at the dining table, Aryan, who typically only consumed black coffee in the morning, headed towards the dining table to join his family. However, Nita promptly intervened, reminding him that he would be fasting today and could eat only after the wedding.

Aryan, already suffering from a headache due to incomplete sleep, felt as if his head was about to explode after hearing Nita's words. Nevertheless, he resigned himself to follow his mother's instructions and retreated to his room.

Sameer and the other family members were ready in the living room, waiting for Aryan, who hadn't come down yet.

As the sound of Aryan's shoes echoed from the stairs, everyone turned toward the staircase. Aryan was descending, dressed in a beige sherwani suit adorned with fine zardozi work, inspired by the Nawabi era. To complete his look, he wore a safa (turban) and a mala (necklace), and he had paired the ensemble with ethnic mojris (shoes). Aryan looked like a masterpiece, as if crafted by the hands of a divine artist, both extraordinarily handsome and exuding power.

Aryan joined everyone, and they were all delighted to see him, even the uncle and aunty who often taunts him.

Nita brought the pooja thali, and after performing the aarti for Aryan, everyone set off for the wedding venue.

Aryan had personally chosen the wedding venue "Sapphire Royale Hotel", which happened to be a hotel he owned. To maintain privacy and keep the wedding details away from the media and reporters, Aryan had booked the entire hotel for the occasion.

The Singhania family enters Sapphire Royale, where a luxurious room awaits them as they patiently wait for the auspicious time of the ceremony.
