Once all the lights in the room were turned off, Yuan and Yu Rou climbed into bed together.
"It's been a while since we slept together, hasn't it? It's only been a few months since you left the Yu family, but it feels like so much more time has passed," Yu Rou suddenly remarked.
Turning his head to gaze at her delicate face, Yuan replied with a smile, "You've matured a lot since I last saw you."
"I had to grow up quickly once I started living on my own. Living alone isn't easy. I thought I was prepared because I've been taking care of you for years with little difficulty, but I underestimated the challenge. Caring for yourself is a lot harder than looking after someone else. Luckily, Jingyi is with me, so I'm not truly on my own."
"Brother, the same goes for you—you've changed a lot."
"Just like you, I had to grow up quickly," Yuan acknowledged.
"I know, but you also seem like a different person now," Yu Rou noted.
"In a bad way?" Yuan inquired, raising an eyebrow.
