Chereads / The Awakened Conqueror / Chapter 32 - Three Fairies

Chapter 32 - Three Fairies

The first period finally ended, and Miss Jiang was disappointed that she couldn't make Kai look at her like some love-struck fool. Nevertheless, she felt somewhat satisfied that Kai was at least paying attention to her now. However, his constant smiling was starting to irritate her.

The next period was math, taught by a middle-aged man who also noticed Kai's change in behavior. But instead of showing concern like the others, the teacher decided to lecture him, which only made him even more irritated after experiencing the teasing of his seductive teacher. The next class was also the same, but they just gave Kai some experience in life rather than lecturing him. Then, the lunch break soon arrived.

Kai stretched his body and suddenly felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He quickly pulled it out and saw a message from Reika.

"Kai-kun. Let's meet up at the cafeteria. Li-er and I are already here."

Kai pondered for a moment, realizing that they would draw a lot of attention if they ate in the crowded cafeteria. He swiftly typed his response.

"Too many people there. We'll just end up struggling to eat properly. Let's just eat on the roof instead."

"But isn't the door to the roof always locked?"

"Don't worry. I've got the key. I eat there during lunch all the time."

"Wait, how did you get the key?"

"I managed to get it from Rick. Just keep it a secret, okay? But you can tell Senior Lian Li."

Reika agreed. "Okay, we'll meet you on the second floor stairs. We're already in the cafeteria."

"Great. I'll be waiting."

Wrapping up their conversation, Kai casually returned his phone to his pocket. Zi Que couldn't help but notice and pointed directly at Kai's pocket with a knowing look.

"Is that your girlfriend in there, Yuan Kai?" Zu Que teased, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.

Kai simply nodded, acknowledging the question, and then made his way towards the trio that were waiting at the door. The guys immediately bombarded him with questions about his girlfriend.

"Well, with a face like yours, you could have anyone! Who is she? Is she in our class? Another section? Or maybe a junior?" Li Qi interrogated, his eyes lighting up with curiosity.

Kai shook his head, amused by their fascination.

"Nah, she's a third-year senior," he replied nonchalantly.

The guys burst into exclamations of surprise and admiration, unable to contain their astonishment.

"Seriously? A third-year senior? You're killing it, dude!" exclaimed Zu Que.

Amidst their chatter, the group reached a flight of stairs, only to find two stunning seniors approaching from the other direction.

"Hey! Aren't those the two fairies from the third year? They're part of the top three beauties in Sakura High!" whispered Li Qi, barely containing his excitement.

"Oh, crap! They're actually looking at us!" exclaimed Zu Que, his heart racing.

The trio's excitement peaked, but Kai paid them no mind. Instead, he confidently walked up to Reika, one of the beauties, and took the lunch box from her arms.

With a smile on his face, Kai greeted Senior Li, "Hey, it's been a day."

Reika clasped her hand to Kai's other hand, which was not holding the lunch box, and smiled sweetly at him. He also responded with a charming smile. Lian Li saw it and unconsciously bit her lower lip. The trio was about to pull Kai when they saw his action, but they suddenly froze in their place when they saw the little fairy suddenly hold Kai's hand. They suddenly remembered what Kai mentioned earlier.

'So the 3rd year that he's referring to was the little fairy of the 3 fairies!'

Why are those guards so close to you, and you even manage to get the key on the roof?" Lian Li asked Kai, her left eyebrow raised in curiosity.

"Shh! Li-er! keep your voice down!" Reika whispered urgently.

"Haha! Don't worry, it's not a big deal," Kai reassured Reika before turning to Lian Li. "Well, it's just a way for them to see how good I am. You'll see too, Senior. Let's go now, we've already wasted enough time."

Kai glanced at the trio who were staring at them dumbfounded, and casually waved them off. "See you later, guys."

Kai then pulled Reika with Lian Li reluctantly following behind. Lian Li wanted to go back, not wanting to be a third wheel, but Reika didn't give her a chance, dragging her along.

The trio stood still like statues, watching their new friend and the two most beautiful girls in school walking away.

"Am I hallucinating?" Zu Que said.

Gu Yong pinched Zu Que's face, wincing in pain. "Damn it! That's too hard! It hurts like hell!"

"Sorry, I thought you wouldn't wake up if I held back," Gu Yong scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit guilty.

"Your fingers are so thick! I'm just a normal high school boy, my skin isn't trained like yours!" Zi Que retorted.

"Alright, calm down, you two. Let's go before we miss out on food," Li Qi intervened, acting as the referee again.

"Sigh~ I wish I were handsome too. Then I could be with beautiful or cute girls like Yuan Kai, instead of being stuck with you two sausages," Zi Que sighed wistfully.

"What did you say, you jerk? You don't want to be with us?" Gu Yong replied, angrily.

Li Qi shook his head and pulled the two of them towards the cafeteria on the first floor. However, just as they were about to take a step, they spotted a little girl running up the stairs towards them. She had tears streaming down her face as she asked, "Seniors, do you know where Senior Yuan Kai is?"

The trio exchanged glances, a mixture of confusion and intrigue on their faces.

"Hey! Don't tell me, is this some kind of scandal?" Zu Que exclaimed, his eyes wide with excitement.

Li Qi couldn't help but roll his eyes and playfully slap the back of Zu Que's head. "You're such an idiot! Why are you jumping to conclusions? With those two beautiful girls constantly attached to his side, why would he need anyone else?"

"Well, you'll never know for sure unless we ask her directly," Zu Que countered, a mischievous grin on his face. He turned to the little girl, as she wiped away her tears. "Hey, why are you crying? Did that jerk cheat on you or something?"

Mae Ling tilted her head in confusion, clearly not understanding Zu Que's question. Ignoring it, she asked again, her voice filled with desperation, "Please, can you tell me where Senior Yuan Kai is? I really need his help."

The trio once again exchanged glances, silently agreeing on a course of action. Li Qi pointed towards the direction he had last seen Kai. "I think I overheard him saying that they were going to eat on the roof. Maybe you'll find him there."

Mae Ling's eyes lit up with gratitude, and without wasting a single second, she sprinted towards the rooftop.

"Sigh~ I should have been the handsome one. Then I could have been the one to help the damsel in distress, instead of being stuck with you two sausages," Zu Que lamented, letting out a dramatic sigh for the third time that day.
