Chapter 11 - Noel Family

Bailey's mother was once maried to the esteemed grand tutor, Jayden Noel. However, their wedded bliss was short-lived, as Jayden found himself irresistibly drawn to Princess Joyce Avery, and soon enough, the king permitted them to marry.

With Joyce's undeniable status and the king's decree, Bailey's mother was forced to relinquish her position as Jayden's lawful wife, becoming a mere concubine. This new arrangement established Joyce as the mistress of the Noel family.

Despite not being the true owner of her current existence, Bailey couldn't simply ignore the desires and aspirations of the original inhabitant of this body. After all, she carried the weight of someone else's identity and had a duty to honor it.

Alicia could sense the pain Bailey felt in her silence. Clearly, her words had struck a chord deep within Bailey's wounded soul.

"Enough," Bailey retorted, her voice tinged with weariness. "I have no patience for idle banter, I warn you. Remain dutifully within the confines of the palace and refrain from causing any unnecessary disturbances!"

Bailey couldn't shake off the feeling that the timing of events was too perfect to be a mere coincidence. .Just after she bid farewell to Kelsey, the Noel family conveniently sent a maid to the palace. It almost seemed as if it had been orchestrated, making it difficult not to suspect foul play

Rory, too, harbored a sense of discontent. Upon hearing the report from his trusted servant, Jay, he frowned in annoyance. "The queen consort didn't refuse?" he questioned, a note of disbelief lacing his words.

Jay shook his head in response, silently confirming Rory's doubts.

"So, the Noel family believes they can infiltrate the palace without so much as a word? Do they hold no regard for my authority?" Rory's voice carried a hint of resentment.

This woman had long conspired with the Noel family, fully aware of her audacity and unwillingness to submit!

Rory's eyes gleamed with a dangerous glint, signifying the explosive nature of the Noel family's presence in their lives. It was a ticking time bomb waiting for the perfect moment to detonate.

Once Daisy had entered the palace, Bailey became increasingly cautious during her visits to Kelsey's residence. She couldn't help but fear that Daisy would exploit the situation, concocting false narratives to create further turmoil.

Daisy, too, sensed that something was amiss. Bailey's frequent trips to Kelsey's house did not escape her notice, leading her to conclude that the queen consort had purposefully concealed these interactions from her.

Bailey had grown clever in her attempts to deceive Daisy. On numerous occasions, she used the pretext of shopping outings, taking Chloe along while leaving Meghan to keep an eye on Daisy. Bailey meticulously planned her departures, waiting until she was sure Daisy was asleep before venturing out.

Unaware of Daisy's vigilant gaze, Meghan believed she was asleep and paid little attention to her behavior.

As soon as Bailey left, Daisy seized the opportunity to secretly trail her, witnessing their covert entrance into a humble cottage tucked away from prying eyes.

Hesitant but intrigued, Daisy dared to listen in on their conversation, piercing the veil of secrecy by puncturing the fragile barrier of the paper-covered window.

As Daisy strained to catch every word, her astonishment grew. Unbeknownst to her, Bailey had dedicated her efforts to tending to an elderly gentleman, tirelessly working to restore his health.

"Your father's upper body has shown remarkable progress," Bailey revealed, her voice carrying a calm determination. "However, his lower limbs have been afflicted by severe dampness, hindering swift recovery. Given time and a few more doses of the prescribed medicine, he will regain walking ability."

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Kelsey and her father showered Bailey with heartfelt appreciation.

Daisy, nestled in the corner, widened her eyes in astonishment. Good heavens, when did Bailey acquire such medical skills?

After careful consideration, she decided to return to Noel's Manor first.

Dalay's words took Alicia aback. "Mother, how did Bailey conceal such abilities? She never displayed them when she was at home."

Joyce's face remained Impassive, devoid of any emotions. She asked, "Apart from her medical skills, is there anything unusual about Balley?"

"The queen consort constantly guards against me. She rarely allows me to approach and care for her. I can sense that she has become much more composed than before. She no longer bursts into anger even if I say something wrong."

As if suddenly remembering something, Daisy continued, "There is one more thing I heard from other people in the mansion. It seems that the queen consort reprimanded a maid in the palace a few days ago. The maid was replaced, but she is still in the mansion and is extremely afraid of the queen's consort. Whenever she sees her, she avoids her."

Joyce sneered, her gaze growing even colder. "This little girl has more tricks up her sleeve than we thought. It seems she concealed her true abilities while at Noel's Manor, playing tricks on me, the princess."

Alicia frowned in worry. "Mother, what should we do if she escapes our control?"

"Why fear her?" Joyce mocked with a smile. "No matter how capable she is, she is still the result of a concubine's belly. How can she compare to you? Moreover, the Fifth Prince, who has now been conferred the title of king of a kingdom, is the only son of the former king's wife. He is the most likely candidate for the crown ruler in the fufiae.

"If you marry him, you will command the respect of the erítire kingdom. She will have to submit to you."

Joyce pondered momentarily before saying, "Besides, why bother about what she does? Even the concubine of King Rorye is no pushover. How could she let any other woman catch King Rory's eye? Bailey is destined to stir up no storms."

Mentioning the Fifth Prince, Alicia's face blushed. "Thomas has invited me shopping. I won't be having dinner at the mansion tonight."

"Alicia, when it comes to men, you must know how to maintain a balance. Don't always immerse yourself in them. Even though you are destined to be husband and wife, you can't trust him completely!"

"I understand," Alicia replied reluctantly with a pout. She knew what to do in her heart and didn't need her mother's guidance!

Soon, Daisy returned to the palace. As she leisurely entered the courtyard, she saw Bailey sitting on a stone bench, seemingly waiting for her.

"Kneel," Bailey ordered with unwavering confidence.

Her gaze was intense and piercing as she stared at Daisy, causing goosebumps to ripple across her entire body.

Daisy, however, stood her ground and defiantly retorted, "Why should I kneel Your Highness?"

Bailey locked her gaze on Daisy, a dangerous gleam flashing.

With a Hick of her hand, two small pebbles struck precisely on Daisy's lower leg, causing her to kneel immediately. She couldn't even stand up.

Daisy asked again, "Your Highness, what are you doing?"

"Where did you go without permission this afternoon?"

"I just went out for a casual stroll. Do I need to report such trivial matters as well? Aren't you afraid of being accused of mistreating servaints and facing criticism from others?"

Bailey smiled calmly, "It doesn't matter. After all, I have long been notorious. Do I still fear this additional "charge"? As a maid in the mansion, you left without my permission, not to mention secretly following me and sneaking into Noel's Manor, am I right?"

Daisy was shocked that she knew everything. Her eyes widened from the shock
