Chereads / Tower of Babel: The Savior / Chapter 8 - Wishing Magic Lamp

Chapter 8 - Wishing Magic Lamp

Kaytlyn had extremely sharp hearing and eyesight.

Immediately, she recognized that the source of the voice was positioned in the classroom, or more exactly, behind two gentlemen sitting in the back row.

The presence of the two males captured her curiosity.

She could confirm that the voice did not come from the man with blonde hair, but instead from another young man with black hair.

He sported short black hair, a white jacket, and a white shirt, and radiated elegance and handsomeness. He had a smile on the corner of his lips.

It's Him!

Within a short moment, Kaytlyn recognized one fact. That man standing there was certainly her "Savior."

She was forced to kneel down and address him as her "Master!"

That was unacceptable! She could not think of him this way. The more she resisted, the more difficult it became for her to control her thoughts. Kaytlyn grew more and more terrified that "Savior" would punish her as a result of her complaints.

Standing still, Kaytlyn gazed at Enko and Aoi for an extended period.

Students present at that moment were momentarily stunned, upon seeing the goddess in each individual's heart staring intently at the two male second-year university students seated in the corner.

There was speculation that the goddess Kaytlyn was inspecting Enko.

People knew that he was an individual with many girlfriends, and wondered whether even the new goddess found herself with an infatuation towards him. This guy was a sleazeball, how could this be? People's tempers ignited with rage.

With regards to Aoi, most people simply ignored him. His existence in school was somewhat obscure, and nobody grasped his predicament.

She quickly realized her actions weren't typical, and thus, found a seat in the front row before settling down.

'Stay alert' she mentally urged herself.

"Savior" couldn't have appeared there by sheer happenstance.

It was most probable that he was covertly observing her.

Yet, it was also feasible that he was just observing her from afar.

That sound, she recognized it without question. It was so well-known to her, she simply couldn't forget it.

Kaytlyn's heart was thrown into a tizzy. Contemplating it all, she could not fathom why "Savior" had suddenly materialized.

He could alter the world at his discretion... And she herself was simply a member of the Tower of Babel, without ever having met other notable, important characters. He absolutely possessed the power to control every movement and utterance of hers.

If he desired, he could issue commands in her mind and manipulate her body, as well.

Why did he turn up without any outside instigation? Was it simply his wish to encounter her in person, merely once?

Aoi never would have presumed that Kaytlyn was entertaining thoughts about him from inside her head.

"She truly is beautiful, isn't it?" Enko smiled.

Aoi softly nodded, responding to him: "Yes, nevertheless, the sound we analyzed before was too loud for her to hear."

Enko was taken aback, and then uttered in surprise: "It would appear that her hearing is vastly more formidable than average humans, but you could be correct. She actually seemed to be looking in our direction only now."

"The reason that i was stared at is most likely due to the fact that i'm excessively handsome, Aoi." He ruminated for half a day and stated.

"Ha ha" Aoi simply grinned, offering an indication that his contempt wasn't being concealed at all.

He made no further utterances. Instead, he simply withdrew his cell phone and considered how to continue control "Nightblade."

Although the goddess of the school was truly stunning in the real world, they had no connection and it was unlikely that they will ever become acquainted in this life.

Thus, 2D was preferable. You could make her do whatever you desired. If you weren't inclined, you could simply allow her to manage it herself. Huh? Speaking of which, the appearance of the one known as Kaytlyn and the pixel "Nightblade" were extremely comparable.

The class begins.

The elderly teacher sitting behind the podium proceeded to enlighten the class. "In the realm of Noah, there are three great forces of Civilization, namely Aether, Luminous, and Elysium. Melthis is an independent city situated within Aether."

"Our city houses 30 million people, possesses a specialized area of agriculture and livestock, and is thus, self-sufficient," the wise teacher educated.

While situated in the first row, Kaytlyn was in a state of having her mind instantly burning out.

The idea of diverting her attention away from "that man" was one that she couldn't even entertain for the slightest bit.

Occasionally glancing over, Kaytlyn perceived that the other person was not paying attention to her, and rather, was engaging with a cell phone while in a tranquil state.

The circumstance was one of a nature which prompted confusion from Kaytlyn herself.

Enko expressed the thought quietly to himself: "I have this odd feeling that she's always observing us, or something. More than once."

Aoi, disbelievingly voiced: "You're overthinking it. Your imagination is way too active, do you desire to flirt with her?"

"It is inconceivable. I gave up on that level a long time ago, and still comprehend that for myself" Came the response from Enko.

Aoi didn't utter a word. As he observed his cell phone screen, a message suddenly popped up: "Sudden Mission."

Simply put, "Sudden Mission" acts like a randomly appearing mission, and it can show up at any moment. Typically, unexpected mission rewards are a bit higher than normal ones and weekly ones.

In line with his objective, Aoi, who had a desire to perfectly complete the "Tower of Babel", needed all the resources he could possibly acquire, and as such, he would never consider ignoring such a situation.

"I apologize, teacher, I shall be more focused in the next class," said Aoi, as his will to study waned further after entering college, while his addiction to games grew more difficult to manage.

He selected Nightblade as the only available character. The new mission was one comprised of combat, located in the middle of the city where folks came and went. There was a condition imposed: there could not be any innocent casualties, and it was essential to fight swiftly, as well as to win quickly. The fight began immediately as Nightblade entered the arena.

The terrain on the road split open as if in response, as a massive monster suddenly surfaced, resembling a giant, black brick, with countless tentacles sprouting forth all around. The monster's body was dripping with a green liquid, which was not dry.

It relied on its horns, similar to a goat's, allowing it to remain stable. "Black Cub" it exclaimed, and began using its tentacles to ensnare passersby and pull them into its gargantuan, bloody mouth.

Pixels, which were replete with people milling back and forth, were now packed with chaos.

"Nightblade" came the pixelated coronation, which declared, "count your sins carefully!"

Controlling "Nightblade," Aoi surged ahead, toppling the Black Cub again and again. However, due to the fatalities of innocent individuals, it returned.

He sought a perfect mission completion. The key was to swiftly dodge the series of attacks to maintain the flow of "Nightblade," preventing Black Cub from harming the other pedestrians.

As Aoi skillfully guided "Nightblade" in this operation, his mind remained tranquil as calm water.

He continued playing games throughout the hours of school, finally achieving victory over Black Cub in a situation which did not result in any deaths.

"First time fighting publicly, Tower of Babel Reputation +200."

"The corpse of the new monster 'Black Cub' has been completely acquired, allowing for the utilization of its materials in order to advance Catabolism technology."

"Reward: Relic Fragments: Wishing Magic Lamp ×1 has been obtained."

"Save game"

Aoi was aware that the "Wishing Magic Lamp" was temporarily unavailable, but as long as enough Fragments were collected to complete its exchange, he could grant three wishes!

Indeed, the power was incredibly potent! This impressive Relic was indispensable for perfect completion, and could only be secured via accumulating Fragments. The earlier the accumulation of Fragments began, the better.

"Finally passed it" Aoi uttered with a hint of a smile as he extended his fatigued back, whilst holding the cell phone.

Suddenly, he noticed that the stern-gazing eyes... Which emerged while the seventy-year-old old teacher was standing at the podium, were rapid.

Immediately, Aoi slipped away the cell phone while displaying a slightly uncomfortable yet courteous smile.

Sitting at the forefront, Kaytlyn was not focusing on the lesson, but grappling with her thoughts deep inside, vacillating to and fro with uncertainty.

Should she make the initial move to approach him, and inquire about why he had appeared in this location? What were his objectives at the end of this path?

Even so, Kaytlyn's inherent apprehensions caused her to refrain from interacting directly with the other individual.

These three entire days were a form of anguish for her.

On occasion, at the time in which she intended to head to the bathroom, she was required to take the reins and flee to the other side of the city to commence slaughtering creatures.

Once control was relinquished, her body wouldn't even notice, relaxing comfortably.

Considering this, Kaytlyn's appearance grew uglier, her thighs slightly coming together.

"Savior" lacked any traces of humanity!

How would Aoi know what was going on in Kaytlyn's thoughts? After school, while Enko and the others ventured ahead, he continued to sit, contemplating the "Tower of Babel".

In a rush, he lifted his head to behold a young lady with snow-white hair and violet and crimson eyes approaching him without his awareness of the timing.

Kaytlyn stood still, with her hands by her sides and her eyes slightly lowered.

She attempted to start speaking but ended up delaying, yet, eventually, she still spoke. "Sir, why have you come here?"
