Chereads / Tower of Babel: The Savior / Chapter 10 - Can't rest yet

Chapter 10 - Can't rest yet

The night sky gradually darkened, as a faint rumble of thunder could be heard from above.

The fair-haired lady with scarlet eyes suddenly knelt upon one knee in the middle of the road.

The quantity of onlookers steadily increased, with more and more people gathering near the group to stare.

Those individuals were interested in this scenario, eager to comprehend what would ensue, ignorant of the catastrophic calamity that was drawing near.

The pure white mask concealed behind Kaytlyn was pensive. She understood the enemy of Tower of Babel quite well... it was her adversary that would approach swiftly.

"Ah!"

A tear surprisingly manifested on the ground, with no clue regarding who initially made the discovery.

The surface begins to give way, as dark and flexible tentacles gradually extend and erupt from within.

It was an enormous black cube, with hideous emerald-colored mucus continuously dripping from every location. The Black Goat's powerful oar-like claws supported a large body of 5 meters in height, resembling a scattered collection. A beast emerged from the tree.

It roared in a manner incapable of description, its body expelling a noxious odor akin to a fetid grave.

Everyone surrounding the area seemed to have just experienced a genuine nightmare, and their thoughts swiftly grew disorganized. They even started to laugh and scream aloud.

Kaytlyn, who knelt down on the ground, gradually stood up.

"Count your sins carefully!"

She calmly removed the black cross from a slit in front of her chest. A black broad cross sword materializes in her grasp instantly.

The girl remains motionless in the midst of the crowd, struggling against the menacing black beast.

The people surrounding the area screamed loudly and proceeded to flee in diverse directions.

Black Cub roared fiercely, and raced towards an innocent passerby who was nearby. It extended its tentacles and wrapped around the closest unlucky fellow, stuffing his mouth with freshly spilled blood.

"Dark Blue · The World."

In the following instant, the world as seen by Kaytlyn's eyes became stationary.

Within a short time span of two seconds, her arm acquired a significant degree of usage, while her body proceeded to rapidly move in Black Cub's direction, similar to a wind-driven object.

Multiple cold rays radiated from mid-air, and swiftly sliced apart all of the tentacle-like threads.

Black Cub let out another hoarse scream as its robust tentacles wrapped around the vehicle and violently slammed towards Kaytlyn.

Kaytlyn's inner state was tense, even though she wasn't capable of controlling her own body at all.

However, it was as though there was one specific desire within her, which was akin to a thousand other times. Kaytlyn's body took a step forward and evaded towards the car!

The enormous black goat's hoof touched the ground, yet it still missed by a minor amount. In a split second, Kaytlyn unexpectedly leapt under Black Cub.

"Roar!"

Kaytlyn was now able to witness the blood-filled, ferocious, stench-ridden mouth hurtling towards her face.

At this precise moment, she wasn't scared in any way.

She became entirely focused on controlling her "Savior."

Kaytlyn firmly held the black broad claymore with two hands, generating a substantial amount of force, before suddenly attacking!

The gargantuan creature also made the greatsword vibrate greatly, and countless tentacles shuddered and writhed under the sword's blade.

Black Cub groaned, resisted death, and tried to initiate another assault, intending to obliterate this undeniably flimsy and frequently destructive human.

The black light was like the judge of Crime, perpetually deciding to move forward with every attack, continually striking down on accident.

"Roar!"

Black Cub basically lacked any means to fight back against this "true monster" human.

"Ooh!"

The titanic creature's body landed loudly on the ground.

She was drenched in jet-black blood, carrying the massive claymore in her grasp, and slowly rose to her feet.

"Mission Completed."

Countless number of passersby witnessed this sight and grew quiet as they were profoundly stunned. This moment would undoubtedly be recalled by their hearts forever.

All over again, the inky fog appears, dragging the monster's body into it.

Kaytlyn takes a look at the eyes scattered around her with some discomfiture. Before long, the enforcement body known as Night Watcher will hurry over, afraid that she cannot get away.

But the next moment, the black mist envelops Kaytlyn's figure, along with pulling her inside.

In an instant, she vanishes without a trace, never to be spotted again.

The pedestrians on the street didn't comprehend what to do, and they were stunned for quite a prolonged time.

The incredible scene from this day would stay permanently embedded in the thoughts of everyone.

A black coat, a white mask... she was like an ancient demon hunter, utilizing the exquisite and unparalleled force of the monster inside her grasp to protect others.

No casualties.

The moment Kaytlyn regained conscious awareness, she had already returned to the villa. Her garments were still spattered with bloodstain residue.

"Sigh."

She became exhausted.

With tremendous difficulty, she raised her face towards the heavens and drew a breath.

It was exceedingly tough for her control over her body to return to its regular state.

However, it was all worth it.

Had she not been present in the middle of the road at the time, she afraid that a lot of people will die.

At this moment, Kaytlyn finally began to regard Tower of Babel as a paranormal entity and a praiseworthy group.

"It's just that the ways that Savior utilizes are somewhat extreme."

She inadvertently began to exonerate "Savior", by implying that she was manipulated into performing these acts. This was also worthwhile.

In any event, if she hadn't been able to continue after such an awful encounter, Kaytlyn's facial expression unexpectedly altered.

[Nightblade, next will conduct Educational Adjustments, Simulation Combat Training for you.]

"Wait! Wait! I just concluded the battle a short while ago! Please! I beg of you, allow me to take a brief break!"

She humbly appealed with her pleading.

It's only beneficial for a short period, she truly requires a break.

Yet, begging for clemency and whining were pointless, as the simulation of Black Cub quickly appeared.

Intending to be forced into accomplishing several bloodsheds, Kaytlyn's visage gradually sunk into despair, withdrawing from her idea of "whitewashing" Savior.

"Savior" is undoubtedly mentally unstable!

————

"I did not expect that following the conclusion of the mission this time, both the Nightblade Mood and Loyalty will grow, allowing me to swiftly engage in training."

Aoi was resting in the library, and maintained a tranquil demeanor as he played on his phone.

It's clear that Nightblade is mentally very strong. Her Mood won't be lowered anytime soon, so I can still save some points.

Nightblade, you cannot have a break quite yet.

Daily Quest · Training can award 20 points per day, and can fulfill it four times within the timeframe of three and a half days, earning a total of 80 points.

Weekly Quest · Real battle can yield 30 points each session, therefore this week's total is 90 points if 3 rounds of battle are fought. This gives an overall figure of 170 points.

After accounting for exchanged Reputation points and deducted costs associated with Nightblade's training, Source Force right now is 430.

X1 requires 50 points, whereas X10 needs 500 points.

Therefore, 70 more points are required to make an attempt at drawing X10!

Honestly, Aoi was anxious to utilize the Gacha once more!

What is the best site for enjoyment while playing the game? Is it defeating the rival? Completing the mission? Solving a puzzle? Or is it still the rookie diligently cultivating their character until they reach the summit?

Not at all!

For Aoi, the one and singular instance where they truly feel tranquil is when they haven't earned any tangible results yet in the Gacha, while simultaneously being filled with hope.

Ah, once the training was finished, the "Nightblade" Mood diminished.

Upon examination, the "Nightblade" data turned out to be in the following way:

Description: This sword belongs to a Legendary Hunter Family heir, who was born with a heavy responsibility on her shoulders. The Family's consciousness was extremely strong, and she sought revenge and a path to restore the family's glory.

At the initial glance, Aoi perceived the "Nightblade" Technique attribute rising from 27 to 41, hence ascertaining that the duration of this training proved to be worthwhile.

It's acknowledged that when Loyalty rises to 6, additional information regarding "Core Operators" can get revealed.

Actually, Loyalty is a snowball of information, but the more it grows, the more challenging it gets to sustain it.

However, there was some negative news: "Nightblade's" Mood had now dropped to 1, meaning she was in a state of near collapse.

Aoi nodded his head, understanding that she was being squeezed to her utmost limits.

He was planning to let "Nightblade" into the hot spring, yet suddenly struck the screen unintentionally.

He found the commercial advertisements that popped up whilst playing games to be truly upsetting.

"What's this about?"

Aoi frowned gently, observing an online video that had been circulating not too long ago.

Since that game had been released because of this, it immediately drew his interest.

Currently, the headline read:

"Gasp! The center of the path within the scene! The beatiful girl and the monster fighting crazy!"
