"Yes~!" Several fae said together in unison. The voices sounded musical, like wind chimes jingling in the breeze.
"Married?" She repeated the word he'd said moments ago.
It sounded even stranger on her tongue than his.
"Yes, indeed." Merwyn replied with a nod and a smile, completely oblivious to her confusion and discomfort. "The terms were laid out plainly enough for you, you just need to pay closer attention in the future. Fae deals don't have takebacks~! What? Are you angry?"
"Um...well...not exactly?" She faltered. Merwyn didn't seem hostile, but he was still fae, and he definitely seemed to be the most powerful one present. Offending him seemed like a good way to trigger a horror movie plot.
"Just confused? It's not much of a marriage if the person getting married doesn't know it..."
Merwyn laughed again. "What do you mean? That's every marriage~! Nobody ever knows when they're going to be married! Fae marriage simply happens~!"
