Dashiell stood by the window, a troubled look on his face.
He couldn't believe what he had just heard. Gwen had practically pushed Trisha towards him. But did she even like him? Or was it just the elder woman's meddling?
He hated the fact that now another person was trying to matchmake him with a woman. It was frustrating, and he couldn't shake the feeling of being manipulated. He let out a sigh, rubbing his temples as he tried to process everything. Why did everyone think they knew what was best for him?
Dashiell clenched his jaw, his emotions roiling. He had always thought his mother was the only person who meddled in his love life. But now it seemed like Gwen had the same penchant.
"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive," he murmured under his breath.
