Already Used
Despite her burning desire for revenge, Lorain found herself spellbound in the clutches of persistent agony. Weary from the constant onslaught of tears, she hunted comfort on the balcony, where she unleashed a haunting melody. Though Lorain was gifted with a beautiful voice, she rarely sang, she only sang facing overwhelming emotions.
After refreshing herself with a bath, she went downstairs the familiar path to the kitchen, only to stumble upon her parents showing love and support. The warmth between them mirrored the happiness Lorain had once wished her and Chris will share when they are married, now covered by a shadow of despair. As she turned away, ready to back to her sadness and loneliness, her mother's voice beckoned her.
"Lory, dear, you've finally came out of your room. I was starting to worry. Have you eaten? Don't worry, dear, all will be fine. Come to mommy, give mommy a hug," her mother implored. "Sit down next to your father. Marry, my love, please prepare our princess her favourite dish."
"Lorain, my child, know that our house is your house. You don't need to depend on a man for your happiness. You have people who love you here," her father added, remorse clouding his voice. "I'm sorry that my sickness made me a mere spectator, unable to protect you from the harsh, cruel world and what that two did to you."
"I am done preparing food now eat my dear child".
The weight of her parents' pain bore down on Lorain's heart. Attempting to reassure them with a strained smile." Mom, Dad relax I am fine." she excused herself, promising to take some proper rest. As she retreated to her room, the pain intensified at the realization that her family suffered because of her. She always had hated it when people carry her pain for themselves.
"I wonder how long she will lock herself up" Marry couldn't hide the pain in her eyes.
In an effort to honor her promise, Lorain began by the removal her digital world. Chats, photos, memories of Jane and Chris—all deleted in a bid to start anew. Yet also the internet seemed unwilling to grant her peace. The power couple's images flooded social media, and the world continued to adore them, Their favourite couple. Seeing all the love and affection. All the things her and Chris used to do. The park and the spot they took pictures at were their favourite stop too. Does Jane feel special?. If she knew it's already used.
Her mind was going crazy seeing how they are all over each other and how people are loving them. This absolutely nonsense to how they just forget about her as if they just didn't betray a person they have known for years. Or to them it's like they just got rid of a pest. In annoyance she blocked and unfollowed the worlds power couple. Within her cleansing, Lorain stumbled upon a picture of a handsome man on Chris's Instagram. A familiar face appeared but where she had seen it was a mystery.
It seems like all the attempts for Lorain to start afresh are to vain. Lorain joined her family for dinner, hoping for a nice family meal together with her family. Instead, she was confronted with yet another shocking revelation—Jane, in a ruthless move, was buying stocks in her family's businesses, threatening to push them to the brink of bankruptcy.
Unable to endure the pain her dad and the whole family was in. Lorain couldn't take this anymore it was fine whilst Jane was targeting now, she had the nerves to include her family into this. Lorain stormed into what was once her home, her fury unleashed as she slapped Jane across the face. "How dare you?"
