Elevating her right hand to her head, Celia, who's burning gaze deeply looked inside of Asaki's, quickly scratched her crimson hair as her soft voice echoed inside of the house.
"I could. But how about the twins ? Leaving them alone don't seem like a good idea."
She was right... The two amethyst eyes of Asaki looked across the wooden surface of the ground during seconds, small particles of dust already recovering it. The twins were indeed, the man's main problem, since leaving so suddenly after being saved could start a conflict.
... Not that, with an Aurora on his side, Asaki was peculiarly afraid.
'But they still saved us...'
Slowly, the white-haired man sat on the wooden table near them, his gaze now lost into the white and dirty walls dressing in front of him.
"That's why we need to find a good reason to leave them for a day... I doubt that telling them the truth will help, you know the Letatras's reputation, right ?"
The girl nodded, also walking to the table in order to sit next to him. A warm and gentle smile formed at the exact moment Asaki moved a bit to give her some space.
"Thanks ! And, yeah. But... Why do you want to go so badly to a Letatras Church, you're one of its believer ?"
It felt so strange to have someone asking you this, without any hint of wrath or disgust inside of their voice. Truth be told, Celia surely was one of the only five persons Asaki had heard talking about The Letatras that way since he was born.
But nothing was astounding, after all, the girl herself used "By the gods." instead of "By Fate." so... She was surely one of its believer as well, although she wouldn't ever confess it.
"It's... Complicated."
"Hmmm..."
After the girl had slightly nodded in comprehension, both of the survivor's gaze got lost into the void once again, this time locked to a window.
"I could convince Naelle."
Finally, said Celia, turning her head to Asaki's direction. Now that the silence was broke, the man tried to answer as fast as he could to avoid its return, still looking at the dirty windows.
"And since Milas always try to be on his sister's side..."
A small laugh escaped from both's lips, being a mix of stress and joy.
"Exactly. It should be possible."
Now that they were finally alone, Asaki suddenly recalled that he wanted to ask the Aurora something. Something only affecting the two of them, which they still hadn't any responses to.
"How's your wound ?"
After all, if his had crystals which had formed over it, Celia's was... More complex, as it became as hard as iron itself, and also as sharp as.
"Oh... Hum, better I guess. It finally closed totally, so now, I just have a large scar slowly disappearing each day passing by. And you ?"
About Asaki... It was still a bit blurry, tiny transparent crystals were still recovering the scarlet mater, but they were so small that no one except for him could tell the difference.
"Fine too, thanks for asking."
This time, not another silence got time to fill the room, as the young man instantly continued.
"By the way... I've never got the right timing to tell you something, Celia."
Small spark of interrogation formed within the two burning stars turned to his direction, exploding in dozens of smaller sparks like some sparkling water.
"Which is ?"
In fact, this was something about the nature itself of their relation. The reason they met, were still alive, and talked right now, in this dusty house.
It concerned nothing but the unique kink which connected the two survivors.
"Thank you, Celia."
°°°
"Huh ? For what ?"
The scarlet figure was now moving way more than before, visibly surprised by such a sentence. Just by looking at how the Aurora carried herself, it was easy to guess that she wasn't expecting this one.
"For everything, in fact. You saved my life multiple times, still try to protect me and now... You're even willing to help myself without asking for anything in return."
Don't get the wrong idea. For Asaki too, this moment was nothing but embarrassing and awkward, it's not like he thanked someone for saving his life before. And... In this kind of situation...
"N-no problem haha ! I just acted by instinct you know, fleeing isn't in my..."
Celia stopped herself, suddenly recalling about something. Without even needing to analyze her or something, Asaki knew what instantly stopped her ; The fact that... She fled multiple times from death, sacrificing multiple lives in the process.
"I'll... I'll be going now, the quicker I tell Naelle about this, the faster we'll arrive to the church !"
Jumping off the table, small noises of steps slowly fading away echoed in the middle of the pristine house, the sound of a closing door ending the step's melody.
'We can't blame her for having fled away the first night, anyone would have do so...'
Asaki also wanted to come back to the cellar now, since a creature could maybe arrive at any moment. But he needed to let Celia and Naelle a bit alone now, or else... The "negotiation" could turn in the way Asaki didn't wanted to.
And so, spent the young-man some dozens of minutes looking at the blue and gray sky dressing above him ; His gaze lost in the clouds and birds passing by. There were gray birds, green, black, and even some...
'Blue-birds ?? Aren't they supposed to...'
Asaki surely had seen a green bird with some blue taint instead, sleeping almost only four hours per night because of the fear not really helping his brain that much.
"They should've finished now..."
Indeed, around twenty minutes had already passed since Celia left, fair enough to let the two girls discuss about the most important part. So, after he got off the table, the young man slowly walked to the entrance door, making sure to check through the windows that not a single monster was near it.
Once he got down the metallic and rusty ladder of the sewers, the young man walked less than a minute across the dark and concrete tunnel before already noticing the gray metallic door of the cellar, wide open.
In case, when he entered, the young man made sure to gently knock the hard surface before doing anything else than closing the door behind him, instantly welcomed by strange pairs of eyes.
Naelle, who was firmly holding Celia's between her arms, trying to stop her from leaving the cellar, and... Celia, gently patting the blondie's head as she waved at Asaki to come.
"You guys really need to go ??? I... We shouldn't separate !"
Celia continued to caress her friend's head, slightly amused by the situation.
" Relax, it's only for the rest of the day and the night, and really important, okay ? Nothing will happen to us, we'll use the sewers thanks to your map."
Even if the blondie wanted to sincerely nod, she still firmly gripped the Aurora's clothes, her arms slightly shaking and eyes gradually getting wet. She was really that afraid about them leaving for a day, even if they just met ?
"Y... You promise ?"
Celia nodded, slowly letting the girl go as she started to walk to Asaki.
"I... hum... Please, avoid getting found in the... River by the guys once again..."
"We won't, Naelle, I'll be there before the sun will even rise you'll see. Okay ?"
The blondie stay silent, visibly too scared to even talk, she wanted to be confident about Celia but... It wasn't enough to suppress the fear of letting two persons suddenly leaving to their death. And...
'What did she mean by...'
Once Asaki, lost in his thoughts passed through the door, Celia closed it behind them, after one last hug with Naelle. Leaving the same day as they organized their departure felt really strange, and even Asaki hadn't planned to go now, but now that Celia already did everything...
After all...
They needed to leave the quickest possible the cellar, before Milas would make his appearance again.
Because the last sentence of Naelle suddenly awoke a new idea inside of Asaki's mind, which was already germinating since a moment. And if this was true, then...
Monsters wouldn't be the last thing they'll have to care about.
