Chapter 25 - Let's hope that she isn't the person I am thinking

It was a warm, sunny day. The students of the academy were in high spirits and full of energy.

But that wasn't the case for me.

"I shouldn't have become the advisor..."

Yes, I already became the advisor of the damn club and was regretting it deeply.

'How did I not notice it? The club couldn't find an advisor, not because the Academy was short on professors or the professors were too busy, but because they were reluctant— no, reluctant would be a weak word. They were outright refusing to become their advisor.'

After all, who would want to be the advisors of a club whose members were princes, princesses, and high nobles of other kingdoms?

Certainly not me or other professors who were pretty normal.

Yes, the club had almost every target I needed to watch over. What a rotten luck was to become the advisor of this club!

You can ask "Hey lazy ass Caelum, isn't your job to take care of those high-ranking people? Why are you fussing over this?" and you would be completely right.

Yes, my job was to take care of them before they became hostile to each other, but who would think that all of them would join the same club?

I was just planning to watch over them from afar and don't intervene unless they were about to make a move on each other.

I was going to be an observer, a viewer but after becoming their advisor, I was no different than a participant.

With being their advisor, I needed to interact with them daily and prevent them from being hostile to each other every single day.

I lost my chance to pretend to not see their actions.

As the nobles and royals of different kingdoms, they were going to hold negative thoughts of each other. They were all like barrels of gunpowders, only a small spark of fire was needed before the explosion— a full-blown war broke out.

Bang!

"But no! Those bastards joined a flimsy club called reading and drawing!" I grumbled as I subconsciously slammed my hand into the table.

"It is Drawing and Reading Club."

Sharply, I turned my eyes to the pale girl who was studying on the other side of the room and sighed.

"Sigh..."

Seeing Estrid, who was always a gloomy, depressive girl, had a slight smile made me angry. She was the one who baited me to become the advisor of the damn club. Damn bastard!

[It is kind of nice to see him like this.]

'...Fuck.'

My hand, which was holding a cup of tea trembled with fury and shame.

I could see that my superior, the Minister of Inspection, and gloomy Estrid laughing their ass off to my pitiful self.

'Fuck... hallucinations.'

I instantly noticed that it was a hallucination. Even though the Minister was an insufferable bastard who would laugh at me like a first-class clown, he wouldn't appear here to just laugh at me.

My stress levels were high because of the club and the appearance of Lars, so I expected the hallucinations. The hallucinations weren't even serious problems, my mind was strong enough to discern most of the hallucinations.

Soon, enough, the hallucinations blurred and disappeared when I noticed them.

"Estrid,"

"Yes?"

"Lead the way to the club."

"Alright." Estrid obediently nodded and stood up.

Clank!

The cup in my hand broke into pieces when I put it on the table.

'...fuck.'

Sometimes you swear a lot to decrease your stress levels, it was the same case for me. Though, it didn't work even once.

*****

"Here?"

"Yes," Estrid answered my question.

"Really? Here? Like really?"

"Yes."

"..."

"..."

'What the fuck is the principal thinking?'

In front of me was a wooden door, shabbier than most of fhs commoner houses'. I hesitated to touch its handle, fearing that I would break the door completely and my second-month pay would also be cut.

"Open the door," I said to Estrid.

"Why?"

"What why? Just open it. I don't want to touch this filthy door."

"..."

"..."

Estrid opened her mouth and closed it afterward without uttering any word. It was apparent that she decided to not voice her opinion. She was a good, obedient girl.

Creak!

The door opened and dusty air blew to my face. My nose itched with irritation.

'...Fuck.'

I was suddenly curious about the principal and his balls. It was scientific curiosity. After all, I didn't swing that way and didn't fancy old people either.

'His balls must be made of steel to give this room to a bunch of royals.'

The blue spiritual mana moved with my call and the wind surged inside the room.

Swoosh!

I hated dust the most. Cleaning the dust before stepping inside was the priority. Wind magic was the best choice for this matter.

"Hiyaaaaa!"

A girlish scream came out from the room as the magically created wind stormed inside.

'Fuck, was there a maid to clean inside?'

Cursing for the umpteenth time, I stopped supplying mana to the magic and held my breath before stepping inside.

The wind died down in an instant.

Creak!

The weak floor creaked under my feet as I removed my jacket and threw it toward the 'maid' who was sitting on the floor with messed-up clothes.

As a gentleman and the cause of her state, I needed to at least cover the maid while some of her parts that shouldn't be seen were exposed to my eyes.

"I am sorry, I was careless. Are you hurt?" I asked while looking around to see if there was something that could have hurt her. Fortunately, there was not.

'She must be in shock. Even if she is a maid of this prestigious academy, she shouldn't have experienced this kind of event. How should I need to compensate her?'

"Umm..." The maid didn't say anything but merely covered her head with the jacket.

But before she covered her head, I finally noticed something.

'Green hair... Don't tell me!?'

Because of the suddenness, I couldn't have a good look before I confirmed if she was injured or not.

'No, let's confirm first. I need to see her eyes.'

With this thought in mind, I waited, yet the 'maid' didn't let out any sound or show her face.

'Fuck.'

"Estrid," I called out while searching my pockets.

"Yes?"

"I'm going out. Take care of her." I said while giving her two small gold coins.

"One of them is yours, the other one is hers," I whispered into her ear as she trembled when I got closer to her.

Then I exited without waiting for her reply.

If my guess were correct, then that girl was acting like a maid and hiding her face to not embarrass herself because of her status. So, I needed to act like I wasn't suspicious of her and treat her like a maid.

And if my guess were wrong, I would lose nothing other than two small gold coins and gain a maid over to my side. At best, I could make her collect information in the academy.

'It is a bit too much money but...anyway. Let's hope that she is just a commoner maid instead of the person I'm guessing.'
