Tyler's POV
Oliver knew I was having second thoughts about going to this party so he told Mother and of course, she made sure I went. According to her, it would be a great opportunity for me to find a bride which I wasn't interested in.
"Let this party end quickly." I groaned inside the car.
I looked out the window throughout the journey. I wasn't really ready for all this. I knew immediately I got to that party, every alpha, luna, and their daughter would flock around me and I couldn't even lose my temper—I had to be nice.
By the time I got there, the introduction was over. I felt kind of sad because I really wanted to see the alpha and his daughter before I introduced myself just to know what I was dealing with beforehand. I looked around and I could see all the ladies staring at me.
"Is it just me or all the ladies staring at me?" I asked Oliver who was behind me.
"Alpha of course they will stare. You are quite the catch this mating seasoning."
Right, which mother would not want their daughter to marry a young alpha from a very influential pack?
"If you want alpha, I can tell them not to come close," Oliver suggested.
"No, that wouldn't be necessary." I don't want to make a bad impression since it is my first time. One or two small talks won't hurt, right?
I knew this would be a tough night so it wouldn't be bad to start it with a drink. If I am a bit tipsy, I wouldn't get so worked up. I was going to the bar to get a drink when someone bumped into me. from the looks of it, it was a girl. Her body was so soft. I am sure this is one of the tactics they will use to get close to me.
"Watch where you are going," I told her. I didn't really see her face because she bent down to pick up her phone.
She stood up and said, "You watch where you are going. You bumped into me."
I looked at her I couldn't believe this girl. "You were the one so fixed on your phone that you couldn't see. Maybe next time don't text and walk since you can't do both." I told her and left. I know she wanted to say more. She seemed like a talkative but I didn't let her. this isn't the time or the place. But why did she look so familiar?
I got to the bar and got myself a glass of whiskey, observing everyone trying to find out who exactly is the alpha- that's who I came here for in the first place. I went over to a group of men talking, just know what exactly till all about.
"Did you hear about the alpha's daughter's failed marriage?" one of them said.
"It wasn't actually failed. The brides were just exchanged." Another corrected.
"It still failed since she is not the one that got married. I heard she exchanged the bride." The other one said.
I just stood there quietly trying to listen. This was an interesting topic and I wanted to know it in full detail. Why would a girl go to the extent of changing the bride just to get out of a marriage? I sipped my whiskey and kept on listening.
"What is her name again?"
"What do you mean what is her name? don't you know Emily Waston-King? She is the most feared she wolf. No wonder no one talks about that incident. If it was a normal she-wolf, she would be ruined by now." The other said with a chuckle and sipped his wine.
"Emily Watson-King." The name was at the tip of my tongue. I remember that name but from where? My mind was moving a hundred miles an hour just to find that name and I finally did. it was the same girl from high school. Although I can't remember her face because that was years ago, I can't forget that name. She was the most annoying girl I have ever seen. What did I expect? Only she can do something like that.
I excited myself from the conservation and went to look for Oliver. Before I could get to him, someone came up to me. A man in his early sixties.
"Tyler, so nice to have you at my party. I thought you wouldn't come."
His party? So, this is the alpha.
"Thank you alpha for inviting me. it is a pleasure." I said with a little smile. That is all I can give.
"Come, let me introduce you to some of my guests." He told me and grabbed me before I could say no. he took me to a group of men who I think are all alphas and introduced me. I was happy, at least I could make relations for the betterment of my pack. as always, they sympathized with me on the death of my father. I just gave a little small smile. I could care less if they cared.
"Darling, would you come here for a second? There is someone I would like you to meet." The alpha called out to someone.
I looked up, ready to give my little smile and try not to make things awkward but what I saw startled me. It was the same girl from earlier. The same girl that bumped into me.
"Tyler, this is my daughter, Emily Watson-King. Emily, this is the alpha of the Red Dawn pack, Tyler Bay."
Did he just say Emily Watson-King? So, this is her. how did I forget her face?
"Nice to meet you." She said with her hand stretched out.
"The pleasure is mine." I covered my hand with hers.
We both looked at each other. She kept on looking at me and it became awkward. I am sure she was still pissed from earlier but she didn't want to say it.
"Tyler, Emily, why don't you both dance." The alpha suggested. I think this night just got way better- note the sarcasm.
