Emily's POV
Father was really angry at me at the moment and it is very understandable but this is not entirely my fault.
"Emily, tell me this didn't just happen." He spoke. His voice shaking in anger.
This is the first time I have seen my father this angry. He was shaking and his eyes were so dark with anger. I wanted to be afraid but I couldn't. I made a decision and I have to stand by it.
"Father…" I chair was thrown across the room shutting me up immediately.
Father came in front of me; our nose almost touching and asked again, this time, slowly. "What just happened?"
I wanted to explain everything to him but he was clearly very angry to understand anything. I looked at the chair he threw at me.
"Why was there another bride on the altar? Why did Leo marry another woman?" he asked yelling.
"Who helped you with this? Is it Amelia?" he asked. I shook my head in disapproval immediately. I can't get her in trouble. Never!
"Do you know how hard it was to convince him about this marriage?" he came closer to me. "Do you know how hard it was to arrange this marriage?" he yelled at me.
"Do you know the kind of shame you have brought to our pack? Do you? If you didn't want this marriage, why didn't you just tell me!!" yelled at me and left frustrated.
At this point, I don't even know if I should tell him the truth. Telling him this will surely break his heart and I don't want that that Leo was planning on doing and how he was planning on trapping my father using me.
Yes! I did change the bride. The bride was supposed to be me but I switched with his long-term girlfriend who was pregnant he wanted to dump and marry me. I know I did the right thing. My wolf Lylia told me so.
My father is obsessed with me getting married. Well, I don't blame him. I am 26 years old with no mate. Most she-wolves get married at 18 or 19 but mine is different. At this rate, I think I am meant to be without a mate but I could care less. All I want to do is work on my pack and the family business since I will one day take over as alpha.
Father doesn't want me to take over and even if I do, I have to have a wolf by my side – a beta or an omega or even better, an alpha. I could understand his fear. After my mother died, I was the only one he had and I knew if would die if he lost me.
I looked at the chair across the room again. What my dad needs now is space I would give him that. He was very angry and he had every right to be after all his only daughter just betrayed him.
I went upstairs to my room planning on skipping dinner tonight since I am sure he didn't want to see my face. I was about to call Amelia and tell her everything when I got a knock on my door.
"Come in."
It was one of the servants who came in. "Your father has requested you come down for dinner." She said and left.
I went downstairs and sat at the dining table. It was so awkward and weirdly quiet. You could hear the cutlery.
When we were almost done, I heard my father speak.
"Tomorrow we are throwing our traditional Cresent party. I invited every alpha and wolf I could find. Find your mate there."
"And if I don't?" I asked
He looked up and gave me a serious face. "You don't want to know."
