The atmosphere ate stillness for almost half an hour. It was sensible since they were in a very awkward situation. Gene, the commander who came with Mister Parker excused himself leaving
Mr. Parker in the room with Elish. Elish pretended as if he did not know they were there, his eyes on the sleeping girl who was not lying on her back. It may seem as if he was trying to avert his attention to something else but he wasn't.
For real, the girl's wounds were literally demanding his attention.
She had a one inch incision in left leg directly below her knee. It was a bit rough like at the point of piercing, there was a struggle.
However, that was not a big deal compared to the crevice running from slightly below her neck, down to her tail bone. The doctor had stitched it but it left a nasty look.
She will never take off her clothes in public for the rest of her Life. They said they would take her to somewhere called 'The Hospital' but they decided against it. It seemed to be a public place, he guessed.
Well, it would be rather difficult to explain to anyone why a girl who had bled out for a whole night was still alive and why her wounds were dry and showing slight healing.
He heaved and gave his hair a slight shove back. There was this uncomfortable feeling in his chest. This desire to help her. Like it was his fault.
Then this awfully familiar fact about her face. It was all messy in his head and he didn't want to think too much but still, he couldn't control the urge to stay and keep her safe.
He couldn't fight the inexplicable guilt eating into him while he sat next to her. He heaved again… she better wake up soon so this feeling can go away.
"Are you just going to sit there?" someone asked. He didn't even twitch.
"She is okay now. You could at least eat, take a bath, change and then return." Elish looked at Mr Parker who owned the voice.
'Damn it Elish, what is your problem. They know her, they treated her. She is will be safe. Stop worrying and take care of yourself too. You don't even know this girl'
Elish ran his eyes left and right.
'But she looks awfully familiar and even if I want to leave, I can't wave this feeling that keeps me sitting here'
He heaved.
…SHIT!...
She doesn't know me either. If she wakes up, she won't be so cool with me sitting next to her or following her around. I have to shake this feeling. Whatever it is, It's damn ridiculous and enslaving.
"Would it not be a bother?" Elish asked. He has no intention of being anyone's problem.
"No, not at all. I asked first, didn't I? We have some clothes you can wear too." Mr Parker rose from his seat and went to the door. He gestured to Elish to come, he did. Rising from the bed. He followed Mr. Parker out the door, the old man shutting the door behind them.
"Please can you wait a little," he beckoned on Elish.
"Sure, no problem," Elish agreed.
Mr. Parker made for the stairs by their left. Hopping down immediately. Elish pulled close to the reins, resting on it and looking down.
He spotted Mr. Parker, he was talking to that boy in whispers. The boy nodded a few times and when Mr. Parker turned to make his way back upstairs, the boy followed. Elish watched them move all the way to him. He left the reins to meet them standing straight.
"Leo will take care of her while you are gone. They are best friends so rest assured she is in good hands". Leo smiled at him.
Elish did not return the expression, he simply said, "Okay."
Mr. Parker smiled too, showing his relief to Elish's acceptance. The man made a gesture for Elish to follow him, as Elish did, Leo opened Anamay's door and went in.
Immediately he closed the door, he left out a scoff. I was practically getting my head stepped on a few hours ago.
Those men and dad were momentarily tyrannical lords. Bloody hunters that were going to pummel him for trying to save my friend than this guy comes out of nowhere and everyone is literally kissing his ass. I mean they are freaking asking his permission to touch Anamay, a girl who he knows nothing about. A girl who is ours.
*Huh*
Leo huffed.
I mean what was he expecting. A man who took a gunshot to the stomach and it left no scratch. Did you see those scars, like a butcher's knife's wounds and animal claw marks. What ever life he lived was not soft at all. Not to mention his size and physique.
But where the hell did he come from? Well, where ever it was, he better go back soon because as far as he, Leo, was concerned that man is no messiah. Which hero comes when everything is over.
Demetri is gone and that's when he comes flaunting those muscles like they are still necessary. For all we know, Anamay could have been dead too before he found her. And it's not like he was searching, he just stumbled on her by accident.
Leo breathed. He should just hurry and go. He heard the sound of sirens immediately. He slipped to the floor and covered his ears.
'Don't Think about it. Don't think about it'

I heard the blazing sound. I turned, eyes on the window.
"What's that," I asked the man. My gaze still on the window.
"It's the ambulance," the man replied faintly, feigning concentration on the sink, flashing around his hands like he was looking for something.
'Yeah I could tell he was avoiding paying attention to the sounds'
"What's an ambulance?" I asked.
"It a car that carries the wounded."
"So it's here for the dead boy." I remember being told about such and I didn't want to ask him why it came, I felt like he wouldn't give me a good answer.
"Yes," there's was sadness on his reply.
"Am sorry." The man paused. He looked at me.
"Your bath is ready."
He left immediately. I locked the door behind him and went to the window. I saw the other man and that doctor go inside with something and then come out with the object bearing some one on top of it.
They were unsteady, shaking with each step. Suddenly something slipped out of the sheets. It was a hand. It dangled, blood all over it. Instantly, that stench ran into my nose but I didn't even squint instead my stomach grumbled.
I smiled.
'That has got to be the weirdest thing ever. I left the window and went to the tub. I took off the trunks and slipped into the water.
…It's warm…
I liked that. It made me tingle in all the good places. My body sinking into it. I stayed in there for almost an hour before I sat up in the tub, looking around.
'I should do more here'
But I didn't know what. I continued looking around, trying to find something. I couldn't remember what I wanted to find but I knew I could be able to tell when I saw it.
My eyes went to the sink. I saw a greenish looking bar. I rose out of the tub, went over and grabbed it. It slipped out of my wet hands falling into the sink. The residue it left in my hand was what made me know it was what I was looking for. I picked it up but slowly this time.
You see it's not that I don't know what I am doing it just that I can't name what am doing and I don't remember neither was I familiar with everything. Somehow it felt like I had known them but when I did, they did not appear the way they do now, back them.
Unconsciously, I grin in self-mockery. Are you trying to say you lived in this world before but far into the past. Ridiculous.
I climbed back into the tub and made good use of the green bar. Rinsing my body after. Then I stepped out of the tub the last time. My eyes running around the room.
… Shit, no towel…
