Chapter 23: Sun Of The Sun Town (3)
If rumors were correct, Benjamin would soon see Sun in person.
In fact, he didn't doubt them as aspiring soldiers were all enamored by their leader's strength and beauty, continuously murmuring about their plans to make an impression on her, making Benjamin an oddity of the queue as he was the only one to not speak aloud about his goals.
When asked about that with a hint of suspicion, Benjamin casually said, "I don't want to repeat what's been already said."
"Hehe! You're right!" replied an unknown young man, no longer having Benjamin in his wary eyes and returning to converse about Sun's appealing looks.
In no time, Benjamin received an invitation to the building in which he'd show his strength and potential. The two-flat mansion stood before him, and thanks to the vast sliding doors being opened, he could peek inside the first floor without getting his attention stolen by the woman on everyone's tongues.
The first floor entirely lacked walls, and it sprawled in all four directions, appearing like a dojo. It was bright inside, and some light sparkled on the wooden floor. If there were walls inside, the first floor would have comfortably housed at least ten families—it was this vast.
Benjamin entered inside, becoming the center of everyone's attention.
Off to his right were weapons of all kinds—swords, spears, axes, shields, bows, all of every kind—resting on the long shelf stretching across the room. Those weapons had snatched his attention first, as Benjamin was naturally interested in fighting.
A cough from the left drew his attention.
Craning his neck in this direction, Benjamin spotted a few men and women clad in dark green kimonos. Their clothes were tightly fixed on them and stuck to their skin so as to their military emblems would never be covered by their cloth.
Benjamin offered them curtly greetings before finally having all his attention snatched by the woman perched in the middle of the first floor, whose eyes were clearly interested in him.
It must have been rare to see a man who would first look at the weapons instead of anyone else in this room.
Nonetheless, Sun's charm had finally smitten Benjamin. Though he had seen her back in real life, she was sick and weakened by the foreign existence, so he couldn't have had grasped her entire beauty.
But now that she stood before him and showered him with a smile and interest, Benjamin could only curve his lips up and reciprocate her feelings of interest. His eyes went from her head to toe.
Sun had her hair appear short, but it was only because of the messy ponytail being quite high up behind her. Unlike her younger sisters, her hair was of a pink hue, like the lovely sunset. Her eyes blazed in the same color.
Perhaps it was because of those eyes shining with ambition that Benjamin couldn't have found any blemish on her face and believed her to be sculpted perfectly. He lowered his gaze only for a second, but that was enough to see that she was indeed the eldest of the sisters and in her prime as the curve of her chest could store a few treasures.
Funnily enough, the way she wore her kimono was between Estelle's and Moon's styles. Her left shoulder wasn't bare and clearly covered by the cloth, yet the right shoulder was naked, and some of it had slipped down her right arm, giving a peek into that abundant treasury.
There was also naturally a tantalizing slit on the hem of her kimono.
Benjamin's experience looked past that appealing spot, and he could infer that this slit allowed Sun to stretch her legs without any problems, meaning she could move fast and kick well.
Sun was taller than Moon, let alone Estelle, so she must have shamed a few men already with just her height, as most men preferred women to be smaller than them. In Benjamin's case, however, such problems would never occur.
He smiled and greeted Miss Sun, "It's my pleasure to be able to cross my path with you, Miss Sun. I'm Benjamin. I will not waste my time here and have our paths intertwined for as long as possible."
"Quite an eloquence," Sun's smile melted, "Pleasure is on my side."
It seemed she must have seen through Benjamin's strength and potential from the way he carried himself. Even if he were faking things, all would soon be unveiled before her as an invitation to the battle dance was just around the corner.
Before the test began, however, Sun added a few words that shocked the people at the table.
"I'm bad with names, and it takes a lot to have me remember others. Should your efforts to impress me suffice, I'll remember your name for at least a month," Sun's smile deepened.
Whether she knew her charms and the rumors about her beauty or told it to him from the bottom of her heart, Benjamin was determined to have her remember his name.
"I'll not re-introduce myself," Benjamin sneered, "You'd better repeat it now."
"My memory is not so short-lived," Sun chuckled.
With his hands still in his pockets, Benjamin strode toward Sun. She had also pushed herself slowly toward him…
Once she was about to enter his range, Benjamin twisted his waist and extended his leg, only to see Sun doing the same move as she had noticed that he was about to kick her.
Their legs crossed.
Both had seen through their strength in less than one second. Benjamin also cast his eyes on her long leg, getting more impressed by her.
The exchange was against him, however, and he quickly slipped away from Sun.
"It makes me wonder how it would have gone had I met you first," Benjamin whispered while taking hands out of his pocket.
Sun didn't comment on his words.
She nodded with acknowledgment after he raised his hands at her, "No longer limiting yourself?"
"Yeah," Benjamin nodded.
