Chapter 27: Sun Of The Sun Town (7)
Miss Sun's office was gone.
All because Sun and the foreign existence within her fought with their techniques, putting everything around them in flames as their bodies drowned in heat.
Sun's spear produced flickers of flame while she thrust it against her foe. Her body produced so much heat that her moves were hidden in a haze, and the same naturally applied to her enemy.
With just a touch alone, they put wooden desks in flames, even though their bodies didn't really produce any flame.
Meaning that a few moves in the office had filled the room with fire, and these two were forced to jump out of the building and drop onto the roof of another one.
While Benjamin had some room to help Sun back in the office, the current him couldn't seamlessly follow them and fight alongside his teammate in such disadvantageous conditions.
The weapon these two wielded—a spear—had too long of a range with an addition of their arms, and the steep roofs on which these two were dancing were terrible to move on for Benjamin, who didn't have much skills yet.
For a moment, therefore, he gazed at Sun's battle dance, in which she stressed her muscles to the extent that she took out most of her strength and skills as she wielded the spear.
'She's good at taking advantage of her weapon, and her style is exactly the same she'd used on me,' Benjamin whispered.
Benjamin's style could be explained with one word—patience.
He fought people while patiently picking up on their strength, habits, and pros and cons, and waited for a perfect moment to usher more of his strength to perform a deadly combo in which he'd either defeat his opponent or at least severely wound him.
Back in the mansion where he fought Sun, he could see that her style was the opposite of his.
It wasn't the impatience that her younger sister had that formed her style, but rather a confidence in her role and strength.
Sun, therefore, used most of her strength in combat. Her movement was fluid, and her attacks were heavy, with her betting on her stamina and experience.
It was for that reason that she decided to abruptly stop her sparring with Benjamin as their styles clashed and could only be put to the test in a real battle to the death.
The more she fought with the foreign soul, the more Benjamin thought of her as a reckless warrior. It was quite a charm to him as he heard her disposition was different from it, and it was quite a pleasure to learn this first-hand.
"Oh? Right, we aren't alone in this world," Benjamin smiled as he noticed that military officials had come out from their dwellings, alerted by the battle's flames, whistles, and bangs.
What was a few officials soon turned into a crowd of soldiers and every other military personnel. They gawked at the scene unfolding before them, clearly wishing to support their mistress.
Alas, something hindered them from the inside. Their bodies didn't respond to their feelings, and instead, they could only grit their teeth in disappointment.
Benjamin sneered and descended into the shadows.
A few minutes later, the residents of Sun Town flooded the range of the military grounds. Their expressions varied as they weren't soldiers or anyone who could really help their mistress. However, they wanted to come to see her fight against the demon that had infiltrated her home and threatened her life.
Their case was the same as the military officials—they could only show their feelings on their faces.
That was when the voice that had told all residents to come here resounded amidst the whistles and booms of the raging battle above them.
"The demon sent here by the marquis of Demanti Town to impersonate Miss Sun and snatch the Sun Town for himself had been lured out by our mistress! Don't just watch and be disappointed at your powerlessness, for you are not as useless as you think! You're her residents, her people, her pride! Show Miss Sun that you have come here to support her! Shout her name to replace the moon hanging in the sky with the sun!" Benjamin screamed.
A second later, the screams of military officials and the town's residents billowed throughout the world. Their voice swallowed up the battle above them, momentarily stunning two fighting women.
Both looked to the side from the burning roof, taking in the sight of people cheering on their mistress.
The foreign existence clenched her teeth and threw her eyes around to find that bastard who had wounded her temple. It must have been him who had orchestrated all of it.
Just as she thought, Benjamin casually leaned onto the wall, sneering.
That sneer would never leave her mind.
Sun had also noticed Benjamin and instantly caught his scheme. The sneer he had sent toward her foe had a much different effect on her, and her heart was squeezed by it.
Her feelings, however, were cast aside as the encouragement of the population took Sun off the roof and lifted her to the skies—the effect that even Benjamin was surprised by.
Had his words turned into a reality? Was that the power of the side character?
Benjamin asked himself as he stared at Sun floating toward the moon. He leaned forward and arched his head back, not wanting to miss the final move he fabricated.
Before long, Sun hung in front of the moon, and her protagonist's presence and role devoured it, turning it into the heating star that cast away all darkness of the world. Donned though she may have been in the black kimono, that color was far from the stain. As she glowed in her pinkish hue with her hair undulating like lovely waves of sun, her outfit made her presence and desires clear—she owned that sun, and it was her power.
Sun lowered her spear, smirked at the foreign soul, and lowered the sun alongside her weapon.
The world ceased to exist.
Before the rough awakening, Benjamin shoved his hands into his shorts' pockets and sighed. It wasn't because he was a side character and that the main, the coolest role had been away from him. He had long since come to terms with his powers and role, and it wasn't like he couldn't defeat Sun.
The reason for his sigh was that he had developed a yearning to own everything that had just occurred.
To own Sun, he didn't have to be a hero, heroine, antagonist, protagonist, or whatever else.
He could make her his, just like he had done with Estelle.
"I'm really an asshole," Benjamin clicked his tongue. There was an extent and boundaries of his morals that he didn't want to cross, even when he deemed himself an asshole.
It seemed he'd push forward those boundaries a little. Nothing could stop him as Estelle's father had various wives and children, so even the world and its communities were against him.
His train of thoughts halted, for his eyes became blinded by the sun.
The warmth devoured him…
Unlike the heat that defeated the foreign soul, Benjamin and the residents of the Sun Town received a proper ending to this arc, bathing in warmth and thanks from Miss Sun before leaving the imaginary world.
Her feelings were conveyed through the temporary might she had grasped.
Benjamin, however, soon felt something more than anyone else in this world.
The softness so real that he thought he had already woken up in real life had squeezed him. His lips were surprised by something wet and shy, too.
It lasted for a few seconds.
Benjamin then woke up.
"You're back!" Estelle loomed over him.
He now could recognize the softness wrapping the back of his head. Her supple and soft thighs, which she had begun sculpting into weapons, were his pillows during his mission.
"I'm back," Benjamin smiled and extended his hand to scratch Estelle's soft cheeks.
Off to his right side, Moon's voice rang out, "Elder sister! You're so red and hot! What has that bitch done to you?!"
"You're not supposed to shout to someone who had just woken up from the coma, Moon," Sun chided her younger sister in a serious and familiar tone to every woman here.
Estelle straightened her back and became rigid! Tears also crumbled down on her face as she realized that her elder sister had returned, and all of them were finally reunited.
Those feelings got the better of her, and she rushed in her direction, leaving Benjamin in the cold summoning circle.
He smiled and raised himself up, "Don't complain when my feelings come over me, Estelle."
Benjamin, however, quickly realized that his words were wrong and told himself off for already searching for excuses.
