Haze was supposedly the first person from Zenith to possess mental resonance. As the second rarest type of resonance, it was expected that no one in Zenith had it before. However, this meant that Haze had no one to properly mentor him on his abilities.
Rogan and Claire provided whatever knowledge they could, but most of the abilities Haze had mastered were from his own personal training and self-discovery. Despite this disadvantage, Haze's growth was still regarded as extremely rapid.
Mind control, especially hypnosis and illusions, was one of the most challenging aspects of mental resonance. These techniques were difficult to master or control. In fact, Haze had only been able to use such techniques on Infected, as their mental capacity was severely disoriented. Even then, he could only put one Infected under hypnosis at a time. It was almost impossible to do the same on a human for any considerable amount of time.
