Chapter 6 - WHO IS HE

 Author's Pov

Seb followed after Domain's footsteps and in no time a small village came into view, the houses were grass-tached and it was lucky for them that it barely rained.

Domain had not seen any signs of rain ever since her first stay in the area. She pointed towards a certain house that would fall anytime and Seb looked at her disappointed.

He hoped it would be something to guarantee a peaceful night's sleep which is all he'd wanted.

"Is that the place you expect me to bribe my way in?" He asked disappointed. According to him, sleeping outside was ten times better than being in such a place.

"If you find it absurd then find somewhere else to stay." Domain answered coldly raising the small rag that acted as a passage for them. Sebastian smirked disappointedly but it's not like he had a choice.

Slowly he followed inside and the figure of an old woman came into view. The woman looked tired and deprived of so many necessary basic needs.

"Who is he?" She asked hitting slightly at Domain.

"He can speak for himself." Domain said moving away and Seb's brows furrowed. How could such an old woman be her mother?

"Hey nobody, meet my grandma." Domain said looking at her grandma and vice versa to Sebastian who opened his eyes widely. He forgot to say his name and maybe that's why the girl referred to him as a nobody.

"I thought you said you lived with your mother young lady," Seb whispered slightly freaked, for some reason, the woman looked scary to him. Her skin was rough and completely wrinkled something he'd never witnessed before.

His grandmother was old but well kept, she resembled him even at an old age. Seb held Domain's hand nervously as scenes from a certain horror movie began to display in his mind. The zombie in the movie resembled the old woman right before him.

"She'll leave when my mom comes." Domain who figured out Seb's condition whispered and he relaxed a bit.

Sebastian's heart shattered at the sight of the place the girl called home. Did people suffer that much? He had a comparison of the place with his room and he had to agree that he'd been born a lucky guy.

His bathroom alone was bigger than the place someone called home. His shoe rack alone occupied a space bigger than the entire place Domain called home.

Sebastian Yates gave thought to his fancy bed, the luxurious life he initially had, and everything he left behind. His luxurious tuxedo suits, the several fancy golden, silver, and several other watches he had.

Seb was sure the price of his shoe back in his country was enough to purchase land and build a house that would be better than the one he stepped foot on.

In an hour, a woman in her forties entered the house with a basket in her hands. Her eyes landed on Sebastian who was first asleep.

"Who is this?" She asked placing her stuff on the Stony ground.

"A nobody." Domain said taking the basket from her colleague. It was so pointless to still keep the pretense before a sleeping body. She was sure the guy was extremely tired and that he'd be snoring any time soon.

"I've noticed something strange about the guys sent here with us my lady." The lady assigned to offer protection to Seb as a mother whispered peeping outside.

"I know that." Domain said preparing some stuff for dinner. Everything about her own family sending her off to such an area was fishy, to begin with so it was only natural that she'd have her secret investigation aside from her mission to protect Sebastian.

"Just be careful Mom." Domain said maintaining the pretense as she'd noticed Seb's body move slightly.

"I will." She answered as a matter of fact. She equally found everything suspicious. Why would they be sent to such a place with zero supply?

The last time they'd received a supply from Domain's father was long ago before Seb's arrival. Seeing his current reaction rose something within her that she suspected.

It was time to be alert and reason with the mind more than the heart. With the heart, she'll risk her life for the state whenever it is needed but with the brain, she'll do everything possible in her power to save her precious self.
