After helping Emma descend the giant deactivated robot. Max, Josh, and Emma stand beside one of the arms. Both Josh and Max in complete disbelief at the recent event that just took place.
Civilians surrounding the robot and others.
"How did you do that?!" Josh asked as he was examining the robots damage.
"D-Did what? W-What did I do?!"
Max pointed at the robot as Emma timidly looked at.
"D-Did I break it? W-Who's was it?! I-I need to apologize!"
"T-There's no need, the person who sent it was after me."
Emma looked concerned as she looked at Max. Before he could continue speaking Josh shouts at Max. Causing Emma to shyly look away again.
"Max! I think this hand just moved!"
"Then get away from it, her inventions most of the time are usually defective."
"Yeah I know, remember that one time when she-!"
Suddenly the robot claw clasped around Josh holding him tightly. Causing Josh to scream loudly for help.
"M-Max! A little help please!"
Suddenly an evil grin appeared on Max's face.
"Hey Josh! Fight back already!" Max shouted with an evil laugh following right after.
Max reached for Emma's hand and grabbed it.
"Lets get out of here, we've got work to do! I had an idea!"
As Max took a few steps Emma stopped him in his tracks.
"W-Wait my bag!"
Max let go of Emma as she ran over to grab her bag from the robot. While Josh was still screaming for help from Max.
"Max! Max! Max!!"
*Lee Park*
Max and Emma are found sitting on a bench in Arcadias well known park. In awkward silence as kids are heard screaming and having fun on the playgrounds around them.
Its just like the meeting room, but I know if I speak she'll get up and walk away again. I'll just wait for her to speak to-.
Emma suddenly got up and started shuffling away quickly.
"Again! Really?!"
Max slouched into the bench with a hefty sigh.
"I'll never finish the rest of my work with all these distractions."
As Max sat by himself, the breeze started blowing through the nice summer sun and gentle caressing of the wind. Helped his brain begin thinking.
What about some sort of time travel relation for the main character so he can fix his mistakes from the beginning of the game?
"No, that's too lame and its already been done by other games. Bleh..."
Suddenly as Max leans his head back more, he finds himself being stared at by Emma who appears to be holding a drink in each hand.
Max immediately jumped off the bench in shock as he wasn't expecting her to be there.
"E-Emma! How long were you there?! You scared me!"
Emma's face went bright red as her eyes widened in surprise.
"I-I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean t-t-to scare you! I just thought I-I should get us some drinks! T-To thank you for earlier."
"Thank me? For what, you saved my life. Shouldn't I be thanking you?"
Emma forcefully and timidly held out one of the drinks while shyly looking away from Max. Her long auburn hair covering her turned face. Max looked at the drink and looked up. Then looked back down at the drink.
"Grape soda huh, I'm not much of a fan for-."
Suddenly the soda Emma held out to Max was launched at his face.
"GAH!"
The can hitting Max directly in the face causing his nose to bleed as he fell onto his back.
*Two hours Later*
Taking a drink from his grape soda, Max continues working with Emma as she continues sketching out details for the designs.
"L-Like this?"
Emma had sketched out an entire two phase final boss design within the time they've been in the park.
"Yeah that's looking really good, great work Emma!"
Emma's face lit up as Max's compliment got to her. She hid her face with her sketchpad in an instant.
Noticing this Max continued writing out the story while she readjusted.
"O-Oh I wanted to a-ask. How did you know that robot was attacking?"
Max instantly stopped writing.
"I-It's complicated."
"Does it have to do with you nose bleeding?"
Max closed his eyes then closed his laptop.
"I think we've got enough done today. I'm going home for the rest of the day."
As Max packed up he quickly began walking away leaving his grape soda on the bench with Emma.
*Max's House*
Max found himself laying on his couch scrolling through social media on his phone, beyond bored out of his mind.
"I could go get some milk."
Max looked at the time on his phone.
"Its ten o'clock... Never mind then the milks gonna have to wait longer."
Max threw himself off the couch and walked to the kitchen. Opening the fridge to find what seems to be a gallon of 2% milk in the fridge.
"Okay... First off ew, 2%? Second off how'd that get in here?"
Then through the front door come the one and only Josh.
"Oh good! You're here! Hey so funny thing I need a place to live for a-."
"No."
"Oh come on just give me a chance."
"No."
"You left me trapped in a robot claw!"
"No."
"Would you stop saying-!"
"No."
Josh throws his jacket onto the coat rack before walking over to the couch and plopping onto it.
"So how'd the rest of the day go? Did you have fun while I was trapped in that robot claw?"
"I worked, you should've done the same."
Max said as he closed the fridge and walked over to the couch to sit with Josh who turned on the television.
"Right why didn't I think of that... Oh wait."
"Fine, fine. I get it but I got to ask. 2%? Really?"
"What? 2% is the only milk that doesn't destroy my system."
"Are you telling me you already planned to stay here?"
"I saw you were missing milk and had a bunch of cereal. Figured we could call it a equal exchange."
"Right you buy milk and eat my cereal and I let you stay with me."
"Exactly."
Josh flicked his eyebrows up with a smirk as he got up and went to the kitchen for a bowl of cereal.
"You want some?"
"..."
Max sat contemplating in silence, wondering if he should kick Josh out or let him stay.
"Going once! Going twice!"
"Yeah get me some cookie crisps."
"Ah good choice my friend, good choice."
