Chapter 10 - First day at Prodigy Academy

After Fajar time, the Headmaster opens Ariel's room's door. He was sitting on the chair reading a book. "How's it going?" Ariel closes the book and takes a long breath. "Not easy, but I am holding up." The headmaster closes the door and sits right next to Ariel. "Prodigy Selection Exam will be starting soon and I want you to participate in it."

"I am ready."

"I thought you would ask questions or decline the offer."

"I have accepted this life, I can't go back. This is my life now. I never liked living a life where I was better than others. I wanted a challenge and people who can understand me."

"Master Ihaan will teach you how to use your physical prodigies."

"Physical prodigies, but I already know martial arts basics. I want to learn other things like Time manipulation or teleportation." Headmaster laughs and while laughing he says; "You can't learn them. Your prodigy comes from the House of Augmentum. And Augmentum prodigy can only increase or decrease. You will learn everything, one step at a time."

"What does that mean?" Headmaster stands up; he walks towards the door "In 2 hours come to class 2A. Ask anyone they will tell you where it is situated." After the Headmaster leaves, Ariel stands up and goes out. He starts running around in the academy looking for class 2A. After 1 hour and 40 minutes of running around the academy. It was so huge that it took him 1 and a half hours to find the class. Its door was humongous and some kids were standing in front of that door. They were trying to open it one by one. They were standing in a line, and trying to open the gate if they failed they would go back in line and wait for their turn. Ariel looked carefully towards the girl that was trying to open this time, she tried to her hardest but couldn't even move it an inch. After failing and being booed she went back in line. She was standing at the end of the line. Ariel approached her and asked; "What's going on here? What are they doing?" That girl bowed her head down and didn't answer. Ariel again asked but no answer. She was blonde and her eyes were unusually golden and sparkling. Her hair was trimmed to her shoulders. Ariel thought that she was afraid of him; "Are you afraid of me?" He asks but she doesn't answer. "She isn't afraid of you, she just can't speak." A voice from behind says. Ariel turned back, it was a man with black hair and a beard, in his late twenties. Ariel looks at him and asks; "And who you might be? You are not a student and I was told that our teacher will be Master Ihaan."

"Quite perspective, I am Rameel Zoraiz from the House of Inventum, Master of Squad 5." Ariel's face filled with curiosity. But before he could ask anything, "You were told to be here after 2 hours, but I saw you running around to find your way here, why is that?"

"Because I knew it was a test. I've seen hundreds of movies and anime to know that much." Rameel's face expiration changed. "What is this 'movies and anime thing'?" He asks.

"You don't know? That means you don't know everything about our world?"

"Of course, we don't. We already have our hands full."

"So, what are they trying to do?" Ariel asks by pointing his finger to the door. "It's an exercise, it's for strength. That door's weight is 800 kg."

"OH, I get it it's a lesson that we should work together to overcome hardships. They can't open it. If they go one by one, they will have to work together to open it."

"What the hell are you talking about? If they push all together, what's the point of this exercise? And even if they all push together, they won't be able to open that door, because it's locked from inside." Ariel was shocked to know that this world doesn't work the same as his. "Locked? So, what's the point of even trying?" Rameel looked at the door, a glimmer of wisdom in his. "If they apply power to something moveable, then what would be the point? They are nobles from great houses and families. They have lived like kings and queens. Thinking they are the strongest and mightiest. If one of them can do it, the others will be motivated by it or disheartened. But now on this door, nobles can see that they are nothing more than the kid standing behind them. They are equal in power, at the moment at least. There is no such thing as equality but we are born equal, are we not? This is when they will start a new life and evolve one will win the other lose. So, to show them that none of them is 'Extraordinary', we conducted this little test." Ariel was lost in thought; "Strange but it makes sense for some reason. But wouldn't it break them?"

"We are breaking them so we can mold them." The headmaster answers as he walks near Ariel and Master Rameel. All the kids stop doing whatever they are doing and face the Headmaster. "You saw through the first test."

"You told me everything about this test that would make me feel extraordinary." The headmaster goes near the door and with just one hand pushes it. The door slams open. "Come in. Master Ihaan is waiting for you all." After Ariel and others went into the room, the Headmaster and Master Rameel left. It was a huge room with white paint in all directions; it was the same as the room the Headmaster was standing in when he first heard the news that they had found Ariel's location but now it had 18 chairs lined up on the opposite side of which Master Ihaan was standing. "There are a total of 43 of you that saw through the test out of one thousand." The whole class was shocked to know that in just the first test total of nine hundred fifty-seven candidates failed. But Ariel was the one most shocked not just because only 33 passed but, to know that there were one thousand candidates. "And the second test was opening the door." The whole class seemed depressed and disheartens but confused because no one was able to open it. A kid with gray hair walks forward; "The first test was finding the classroom. It was too simple for a noble such as myself, but no one succeeded in the second test. Does that mean all of us failed?"

"We never said the one who fails to the door will be out. You all are from the House of Augmentum. Many commoners tried but none passed, but we have a guest with us today. He isn't a noble or commoner." Ariel knew it was going to be about him. Master Ihaan pointed his finger towards Ariel "I know you all have heard the rumor about the kid who was brought here from the human realm. There he stands." The gray-haired kid advances again, "Humans joining Prodigy Academy, how the mighty have fallen. We know he doesn't belong here. He isn't a commoner or noble he is our enemy. Humans are monsters and I have heard they eat other species." The whole class diverted their attention towards Ariel, their eyes filled with anger and revenge. "Your kind killed my ancestors." A girl from the crowd said. Others started talking about how much they hate humans. Ariel was confused because, according to the story, he knew Aurians were the monsters.
