Chapter 39 - Unwanted Attention PT.2

AN: Sorry for not uploading last week but the end of the school year is upon me, so I won't be able to upload for a few weeks, and this chapter might be a bit short.

Again, sorry for the interruption and for wait. I hope you all have a wonderful week.

*CANE'S POV*

As we walked into the Kent's house I wondered if this would come to violence...I mean it probably will but it's nice to dream. Door swinging open we saw baby Tea getting scolded with a half-eaten cookie in hand.

Before we could be greeted by anyone, I was by Tea's side asking her what happened. The man suspiciously dressed as a bat was in the corner glaring and the two other heroes were at a table watching the child be scolded.

Superman tensed as did Wonder Woman, they however didn't stop me. She looked at me then at the ground.

Tea: "I took cookie."

Frowning I put my hands on my hips and looked at her disappointedly. We may have not known each other long but I taught her better than this. While young she was extremely intelligent, and she is maturing faster than a normal child, so I knew she understood.

Cane: "Do you know what you did wrong?"

I could feel all eyes on me curious about how I, a thief would handle this.

Tea: "I sto-"

Cane: "That's right you got caught!"

Before I could continue a foot slammed into my face.

Conner: "WHAT KIND OF ADVICE IS THAT?!?!"

Cane: "*groan* what the hell man?"

Conner: "What the hell you! You told a child that the only thing they did wrong was getting caught! Who the hell tells a kid to steal better!?"

Cane: "That's great advice! Stealing saved you ungrateful bitches! What do you think I was doing in that Cadmus facility I was stealing, and do you know what? I. WASN'T. CAUGHT."

Turning around I faced Tea. My cheek began to swell but that was a mere inconvenience. Thievery was the bread and butter of Ken's survival when he was thrown into a different world.

It was the same thing that Ken realized was absolutely necessary for anybody to learn. It was something that they or Ken and his clones taught Eri.

Taking her hands into mine I began to explain that since her hands were small, she would be able to get into smaller places, but she had less dexterity. Mid rant Martha put Tea behind her and asked me to stop trying to teach her how to steal better.

Nobody appreciates good advice anymore. Like come on I'm 99.99% sure Batman steals, and does anyone say anything...no, no they don't. Whatever I'm not really here for me.

I mean I kinda am, like alien spaceship in the barn so like yeah. As Batman stepped forth and began to make demands. I didn't listen and couldn't help but think. Think about...think about...

Why am I here?

Eyes narrowing, I scanned the house, I don't need to be here...this has nothing to do with our goals. The clones were alright and to be honest didn't need me...they never needed me or Ken...so why was I traveling with them?

To help Ken?

No.

We rarely ever met with Ken, and now that I think about it all my efforts to get back to MHA world has become a forethought. Even the scientists I recruited had little to no knowledge on other universes let alone the omniverse.

As I thought about it a feeling of depression and deep sorrow came over me. Looking around I saw that nobody else seemed effected, but as I scanned the room, I saw someone. Someone that I or rather Ken hadn't seen since his first life.

Mom.

*KEN'S POV*

Dodging a slash that was aimed at my neck I retaliated with slash at Deathstroke's torso, he of course dodged. My improved fighting abilities were only sharpened by this conflict.

I already had a strong foundation from the MHA world, but as you can imagine it paled to the skill that the fighters in the DC universe had. Dodging a downward slash, I was about to retaliate, but my mind and vision split.

My pause let Deathstroke strike again but I was able to block and retaliate. While my body fought, I was paying attention to my clone and even reviewed the memories that led to his situation.

His realization that something was up with actions and the appearance of the entity, and the form it took.

I understandably was pissed but didn't take over my clone just watched though his eyes. She smiled and spoke. "Oh. Ken is watching as well, it's for the best I suppose."

Cane didn't speak and neither did I she or it smiled warmly despite the depression it made us feel and continued. "Cane here broke first. He realized that you weren't acting like you usually do."

It walked behind us and began to run warm fingers through our hair. It was something she did when I visited and eventually passed out in a seat next to her hospital bed.

"They tried to erase you at first, but that entity marked you and they were smart enough to know that messing with you would end in their death.

So, they turned to manipulation.

They couldn't get rid of you, so they decided to integrate you into the universe. Surely you noticed. Deathstroke, Starfire, Conner, Klay, Tea, Ted, Bronze Tiger, The Justice League.

Right now, as we speak, Hashirama is talking to Richard Dragon about life, and Jayden is playing with the queen of Latva. Ryu spends most of his free time hanging out with Ted, Cane...well you can see how he spends his time.

Honestly I'm surprised that he was the one who noticed it first, but Ken you did put up the biggest fight."

Conner had stepped up in front of Batman saying something through gritted teeth. Klay had stepped up next to him followed by Roy showing their support on something.

As they continued to argue she...it spoke again. "You are probably wondering why I'm helping you. You aren't the first, and you won't be the last, but you are definitely one of the most interesting.

Not in your goals, wanting to go back to where you originally came from isn't that unique, but the powers you were given...what that entity did its either a work of art or torture. I suppose it depends on who is looking at your soul."

That was a weird thing to say. A very weird and concerning thing to say. While my body fought Deathstroke almost on auto pilot Cane was being forced back into the conversation with the Justice League and his group.

Conner: "Cane! Aren't you going to say anything."

Clasping his hands together and leaning forward Cane gained a serious expression. "I'm not going to lie...I wasn't paying attention."

Groans and sighs were plentiful as Conner recapped the conversation. Basically, it was the Justice League (mainly Batman) wanting to take in and watch over (spy on) them.

Eyes closed Cane listened, I also listened in somewhat. My main focus went back to my fight with Deathstroke. That entity that looks like my mom was still there just...waiting so we could continue our conversation.

My thoughts on the matter were expressed by my clone in a blunter manner. "Fuck no."

This of course led to a one-sided argument which consisted of Batman saying that the clones were a danger to themselves, and those around them. Batman glared at my clone daring him to speak against him.

Unfortunately for him my clone was very much like me and didn't really give a shit. "My answer isn't going to change. Their lives are their own as is mine, I can't speak for them, but I refuse any "offer" you have."

Another staring contest ensued.

Ken: "Is he just going to keep on doing that until my clone gives up or...?"

Entity: "Maybe, I'm not sure, most break by now."

Cane: "Ken can you knock him out or something this is taking too long."

Ken: "Do it yourself you lazy fuck!"

Cane: "UUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! That's sooooooo muuuuuch woooork tho!"

Ken: "I'll dispel your ass."

Entity: "Boys act your age and settle down."

We both mentally turned towards the entity. Me and my clone just looked at it, it still looked like my Mom, it looked ahead not bothered by us.
