Chapter 41 - Quick Exit

*KEN'S POV*

Ken: "SKYNET, BRAINIAC, ULTRON, RED QUEEN, BROTHER EYE DO THOSE NAMES MEAN NOTHING TO YOU!"

Cane: "I-"

Ken: "Fuck! Like, come on man, at what point where you like "Oh YhEA LeTs Mak3 a FuCkIng Ai iN th3 Dc UnIv3rse." Like fuck! When has making an AI went well shit, even Cortana went rouge after a while."

Cane: "If you-"

Ken: "Ssssiiiiilllleeeennnnceee."

Cane: "Bu-"

Ken: "Silencio"

...

...

...

Cane: "Can I-"

Ken: "*SSSHHHH*"

...

...

...

Entity: "Ah this brings back memories."

Ken: "Zip it! Twenty words or less explain and if I don't like what I hear I'm going to use you for practice."

Cane: "OK! So, it started simple something to keep track of some things and alert me when other things appear. Simple...but, I kept on adding little things and before long she grew conscious."

...

...

Ken: "That was over twenty...and I didn't like what I heard. When you are done with the Justice League I'll deal with you."

Cane: "Wait, you saw my memories why did you bother asking?"

Ken: "Because I refuse to believe that my clone (which is me), is this fucking stupid!"

Cane: "Ah...well...I did...so."

Ken: *ARG! GAAA! EEERRRKKK!*

Entity: "Oh my, I think he'll have a brain aneurysm at this rate."

Cane: "You're not helping."

Entity: "I know."

Ken: "OK! So, this is what's going to happen! You are going to finish with the Justice League then you are going to ditch your group and dispel. No sidetracks or dragging this out."

Cane: "Alright...but how should I handle the Justice League?"

Ken: "For the love of God don't kill any of them, I don't have enough confidence that they at some point won't connect you to me, so don't. Just knock them out and book it just...just...(I know Ima regret this later) but just don't make things worse."

Entity: "You just jinxed yourself."

Ken: "*Sssshhhh* silence from you."

Cane: "Oh come on I can't fuck this up that bad right?"

...

...

...

"Right"

Ken: "Fuck you."

*CANE'S POV*

Alright, so the Justice League...how to do this without having them hunt me down afterward. Me and Batman are still I'm this awkward stalemate, so I still have time. Don't know how much time but I don't need much.

This won't be a violent altercation hopefully; this is Superman's family home after all. All I have to do is dip while not wanting them to hunt me down. Just leaving won't do I have their attention and I most likely won't completely lose it after this, but the goal here is to get them to dismiss me as a threat.

Batman: "What's your connection to the teleporter."

Oh, so he wants to plant doubt in them by accusing me of aiding a criminal, and that might have worked if they didn't know already. I find that some things should be kept secret and others should be out in the open no matter how damning it makes you look.

Cane: "Don't have one just repaying an old favor. By the way is it true that pink kryptonite makes the boy in blue well...you know."

Batman's eyes narrowed and Superman paled, and Wonder Woman turned and coughed hiding a laugh. I could feel Conner and Klay turn towards me confusion and suspension fighting for dominance.

Conner: "What does pink Kryptonite do?"

Cane: "I'm glad you asked! You see-"

Before I could finish a hand covered my mouth and as mortified Superman looked into the distance as if seeing a horror that he had long thought dead. "Don't, please...just don't."

Diversion successful I prepared to try to make a quick exit but was interrupted by Batman. "Hacking into the Justice League Network and CCTV just to delete recordings of someone who you just owe a favor to."

UUUGGGHHHH come on, leaving a friend's house shouldn't be this hard! But then again this is Batman! Still tho. "Yeah, well it may have been something big for you but not so much for me."

Acting arrogant will lead them to believe that I'm just some arrogant kid who's swimming in a pond that's too big for him, this will hopefully lead them to believe that I'm not a threat. We'll Superman and Wonder Woman, Batman will always think someone is a threat.

Superman: "Listen, you are extremely talented for someone your age, but it's the fact that you are so young that is the problem (that and the fact that you are a thief). Some of the people that you stole from are very dangerous and won't hesitate to come after you."

Cane: "Thanks for the concern but I've got it."

Giving a thumbs up to an unimpressed Superman I considered if I should just drop a smoke bomb and dispel. The only reason why I haven't is...wait a minute, Ken said don't piss them off didn't say I had to talk my way out, fuck this!

Turning towards my group I started speaking interrupting whatever Superman was saying. "Eh...you guys good?"

My three companions turned towards me two in confusion and one in understanding. Turning away Roy scoffed and answered. "We'll be fine, so go ahead and fuck off."

Giving another thumbs up I dropped a smoke bomb and dispelled as soon as the smoke covered my body. Before I dispelled, I could feel a rush of wind that I imagine was meant to get rid of the smoke, well either way it's no longer my problem.

*GENERAL POV*

A smoke cloud was dispersed almost twice as fast as it appeared, and in that split second Techno-Baby disappeared. It shouldn't have been possible...unless someone teleported him out.

This was the thought process of Batman, he shot a glance at Superman, whose eyes glowed white. After a moment he turned towards Batman shaking his head, turning slightly towards Wonder Woman, Batman looked to see if she had anything. She looked confused and gave him a look that stated that she had something, but it was something best said later.

Frowning he turned towards the trio one looked confused, the next looked angry, and the final resolute. "Where did he go."

It was Batman who began the questioning and Conner made to answer but was cut off by Roy. "Don't know, and even if we did, we wouldn't tell you." This was accompanied by a glare aimed towards the other two.

Both Conner and Klay looked confused and angry but waited for later to argue. Turning back towards the big three of the Justice League Roy decided to extend an olive branch. "We have my clone in the RV, if you want, we could bring him to a safe house where you can question him, under one condition."

Batman looked unimpressed and maybe a little agitated. "And that would be."

At this Roy closed his eyes and took a deep breath as if trying to calm himself down. "I want him to go free after, he did nothing wrong, so just.... just don't hurt or imprison him."

Both Conner and Klay smiled at this and was given and unreadable look from Superman. He kept an unwavering gaze on Batman not faltering in his resolve.

Their impromptu stare down was interrupted by a loud clap. Turning Mrs. Kent hands were clasped together, and she had a stern look on her face. "OK that's enough! I will not have this going on in my home anymore."

Turning towards Superman she gave him a look that promised a talking to later. "Now come on, dinner is ready, you can deal with all this later...away from our house."

*JAYDEN'S POV*

You ever realize that someone is fucking with you and after the fact you start to put pieces together that should have been red flags. Obvious red flags that should have let you know something was wrong, but for some bullshit reason you ignored them.

Three weeks, I've been here for three weeks and the princess of Vlatava considers me a big brother, that shouldn't be possible. A friend perhaps, but a big brother? No, a connection like that shouldn't have been formed so fast, shit Eri took longer to see me or Ken as a brother.

It made me feel like shit, I was definitely going to have to be more cautious when interacting with people. I don't like the thought of being manipulated, and the thought of a kid being manipulated with me only makes me even madder.

Perdita: "Hey Jayden! Can we watch cartoons again! Pleeeeaaaaassssseeee!"

Jayden: "*sigh* did you finish all of your homework?"

The blonde child quickly averted her eyes and mumbled out a maybe. I could understand, I or Ken hated homework in his first life and hated when he gave Eri homework and I hate making this kid who also had to run a country do homework, but she needs education the circles that she will run in will require education.

Jayden: "Tell you what if you finish your homework, I'll get you some snacks...the good kind for the movie."

She shot me a beaming smile before rushing off to complete her task. Letting my smile fade into a frown I began to think about my actions so far. I had planned on being a supporter of her rule and maybe help out here and there, but...well a conversation about politics quickly turned to what our favorite foods were then I was making promises of making junk food and watching cartoons.

Honestly, I'm still baffled on how that conversation turned out. Making my way towards a store because apparently nobody knows where to get good junk food I was stopped by a butler. Never saw the dude before but I put on the kind smile I was known for.

Butler: "Pardon the interruption sir, there is someone who wishes to see you."

Jayden: "May I know who wishes to see me?"

Butler: "The person wishes to remain anonymous for the moment, but they insist on a meeting."

Towards the end he showed me the tip of a gun, and I'd be lying if I said that my grin didn't broaden upon realizing who most likely wanted to meet with me. This person is someone I really wanted to meet, after all they not only tried to kill a kid repeatedly, but they also pose a threat to our return back to the MHA world.

I made my way out of the building and towards a shady black car. Before I could enter a black fabric, bag was placed on my head, and I was harshly pushed into the car. Yeah, this dude is going to die.

For a couple of minutes, we just drove around, I'm pretty sure this dude just drove in circles, but whatever. After we stopped, I was yet again ruffly dragged out of the car damn did this guy have a grudge or something?

I was practically dragged towards a building a warehouse if I had to guess, such talks happen in such places after all. After some more walking I was pushed into a metal chair and had the bag over my head roughly pulled off.

A naked bulb hung overhead swaying softly and barely illuminating the area around me leaving everything else in the darkness...my darkness. I was surrounded by a few meta-humans but mostly regular soldiers, but there was only one that truly held my attention.

Jayden: "Greetings Count Vertigo I've been waiting to meet you."
