Angel stood right there, in front of the mirror as she blushed and admired her beautiful flower stewed dress. Her legs are noodles and she could feel her insides tangling.
"You have to look extraordinary today, my daughter's finally getting married" Rita, her mum, said as she gingerly brushed her ruby- coloured hair, with a strand of black
"Oh Romeo, Romeo! however shall I find thou Romeo....." Delta twirled in a tease. " You're only fifteen. Too young for marriage"
Her mum said. "Now help your sister get ready".
Angel finally has her dream fulfilled, to marry her one true love. Indeed it was a special day for her, one she could sing about if she was a Disney princess.
" What's taking Ron so long? She should've been here by now. I can't go through this without her" Angel seemed somewhat disappointed.
"Maybe her flight's been delayed, but don't let it bring you down... You're ruining the mascara!" Delta said.
"Alright, Alright! Wrap it up. It's time to move out" Rita pointed out. "The song's your queue to come out, Angel ".
She holds her bouquet of flowers as she walked gracefully towards her future husband. Love filled the atmosphere as Authniel stared at her looking so goddess-like. It was like he was bewitched by her beauty. Angel blushes beneath her red veil as she walks in sync to the song, which made people whisper: why wear red in your wedding day.
Red hair, red dress, red veil, red shoes, and red roses. Everything about her.....was just red.
On getting to the altar, Authniel slightly held her hand and gave a brief smile which lasted for about a second.
"You look like the witch of despair, dressed in total red. She gives people high hopes for a long time only so she could later take their souls and drink their blood....The devil's embodiment" He whispered into her ears, leaving her puzzled. "You're looking breathtaking, that's what I meant" He giggled.
"Oh ... Thanks..." Angel replied, forcing a smile on her face.
Angel and Authniel were lost in each other's eyes as the priest read out the wedding ceremony script.
"Something doesn't feel right" Delta whispered, as she squinted her eyes looking at Authniel.
" What do you mean?" Her mum asked.
"Something doesn't seem right with Authniel....I have a bad feeling about this" She replied. " Well, let's just hope I'm wrong ".
"Do you, Angel Varles, take Authniel Carano to be your lawfully wedded husband, to be faithful to him, in good times and bad, sickness and in health, and honour him for the rest of your life till death do you apart?"
"I do" She smiled.
"And do you, Authniel Carano, take Angel Varles to be your lawfully wedded wife, to be faithful to her, for better for worse, in good and in bad, sickness and in health, for the rest of your life till death do you apart?"
Absolute silence broke out. Authniel didn't say anything, leaving Angel utterly confused. The audience soon began their side talks.
"Uhhh..... Mr Authniel?" The priest called out. "I said...."
" I'm not sure I do" He finally spoke out. " Angel, you owe me an explanation".
Everywhere was ghost- quiet, not even the sound of crickets were heard. The priest's jaw had fallen while both parents were left in shock.
Releasing her bouquet and veil into the air, Angel forcefully grabbed him by the hands.
"You've always been quite the joker, but I want you to know this isn't the time for it. Please, don't do this... I'm begging you" Angel pleaded, almost about to burst into tears. "Priest, you may continue...."
" I don't think you understand, Angel. I said I won't marry you till you answer my questions. You and I both know you've been cheating on me with your ex- boyfriend".
Soon, everyone could hear the sound of a slap filling the hall.
" YOU SON OF A BASTARD!!!". Delta was filled with intense rage which didn't let her stop at one slap.
As she raised her hand to hit him a third time, he grabbed her and squeezed it so badly.
" Some nerve you've got there, little brat" Authniel scoffed. " I shall return the lovely gesture".
Just as he was about to lay hands on her, a firm and sturdy grip got hold of his hands and sent him tumbling with a painful smack.
It was Rita, the martial artist.
"Don't mess with my daughter!".
Along flew the golden kickboxer who finished it off with a jump, using his jagged elbows to Pierce his tummy.
" And no one messes with my family". Her father warned.
The crowd goes Wild.
In not more than a few minutes, everywhere become awfully hot. Their gazes travelled through the hall to detect the problem, only to find Angel sitting on the floor. She didn't say anything, she just stared lifeless at the ground as she started emitting smoke from her body.
"ANGEL!!".
Veronica burst through the doors and ran towards Angel.
"Ron,...is that you?". Angel cried out. " I can't see..... I can't see anything, Ron.....I can't see. Turn on the lights...please...".
"Angel, you're overheating again" Veronica's held back her tears. "Just think of happy moments...or everyone here won't see the next daylight..."
" No Angel, don't try to control it" Delta interrupted. "Burn him to ashes ...burn it all away".
