Chapter 7 - Encounter

In the middle of the night.....

"WHAT?!!!!". Angel screamed in shock. "I expected something like this from Delta, not you, Ron!.I can't believe you guys got Authniel arrested.....by framing him. Despicable!".

Delta looks at Ron in disgust. "Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Oh Ron, so innocent.....yet so foolish. How could you tell Angel?".

"Who are you calling foolish?! I'm older than you, Delta!!". Ron shouted while pulling Delta's hair.

"Good grief!". Angel took a deep breath and sighed, "You'll both be in trouble if the police gets to the bottom of it. And when they do, I won't help".

************Next morning****

He walks fiercely emitting a strong aura as he was guarded by bodyguards who shielded him from the people.

Lights flashing, the noises of desperate reporters, and the crowd of screaming fans.

Who could it be? Who was so famous enough to gather the attention of everyone by just a glimpse? Whose face is it? Many people wondered.

As he took his first step into the police station, everyone surrounded with a stunned look in their eyes. His presence was unexpected, yet graceful as they basked in the sight of beauty.

"What took you so long? You let me spend my night in prison". He heard Authniel speak behind bars.

"W..what brings you h..here, Mr Carano?". Cole asked.

Seeing as so many people were gathered, both in and out, it was the perfect time to make an announcement.

"This man right here in prison...is my younger brother, Authniel Carano. Let him go, he was framed". Roland turned to Authniel, "A night behind bars isn't enough for you, I could've let you rot here but we made a deal. Consider yourself lucky this time ".

Biggest and most shocking news headline. Famous rich bachelor actually had a sibling. What was this? What did they just hear? How could he have concealed that fact for years? Was it shame, or because of fame? They had so many questions to ask him right there in front of cameras.

"I'm sure you all have a lot of questions to ask me regarding this news, but rest assured.....I promise I won't answer any so don't waste both our times". Roland said firmly.

Wow! So arrogant, yet intriguing. His cold attitude was admired by all, probably because they didn't know his true beastly nature.

Just with a single phone call to the chief, Authniel was released from prison.

"Sorry for the misunderstanding, it was our mistake ". Cole apologized sincerely.

"People who makes mistakes should be punished. So tell me,.....how should I punish you?". Roland walked up to him, looking down on him with a look of superiority which made Cole tremble. "Speak. Should I remove you from your post? Should I get you transferred? Or should I do worse than that which would painfully affect your family?".

"I....I ...I..who...." Cole swallowed down his saliva. "I'll make sure I catch the person behind it. Mr Authniel, do you have anyone in mind?".

Authniel smiled, "Of course I do,...and I guess I need to pay them a little visit".

The Varles family talked and laughed as usual in the dining room, having breakfast. Angel is tapping on her phone, chatting her friends on WeChat, Delta is spreading maple syrup on pancakes, Ron is giving her parents the puppy dog eyes as they sip their cups of coffee to ignore her.

"I just need to buy some things, I need the money". Ron begged. "I know your cups are empty".

"Use your money, dear, you're not a child anymore " Michael smiled as Rita nodded in agreement.

"I can't use my own money when my parents are here. It's your job to....." Ron took a pause when they heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it". Delta stood up and walked to the door.

As she opened it, they all barged in.

"How have you been,.... My dear Angel?". Authniel smirked .

Angel was shocked and her knees felt like they could break any second, but she concealed her feelings, putting on a straight face. "You got out of prison?".

Authniel's face was filled with happiness, he turned to Delta. "I've missed you, Delta. Did you miss me?".

"...."

"No response, huh? Oh well! I come bearing gifts, say your goodbyes now because you're going to jail for framing me".

"I framed noone, I'm innocent. Clearly, you can't touch me without evidence ...." Delta suddenly couldn't breathe properly. She squeezed her chest tightly, like she was stopping her heart from jumping out. All these because Roland suddenly walked up close to her, giving her a very intimidating look which gave her the feeling of fear.

Fear? What was that? Delta knew no fear. She had always been free with her words regardless of what might happen, but today,.....she crossed path with the devil himself.

"IT WAS ME! I framed Authniel because he ruined my sister's wedding! I hate him so much!!". Her eyes were wide open in shock. Why was she so scared? Who was this man who made her feel this way? "It was just me, noone else is involved. Don't touch my family".

"You shall be punished. Take her away". Roland ordered.

"Not so fast. I won't let you touch my sister". Angel said, pulling Delta back. "I'll take her punishment, I'm responsible for her after all".

Roland turned around, only to just notice the most beautiful girl he had ever come across. But then again, it didn't move him.

"So you're Angel, not such a delight meeting you. As for the punishment, I'll be the one to pass my judgement....and trust me, you won't be able to handle it".

"He's not even all that cute. His face is too plain, his eyes are not very charming. He's too tall and he's way out of my league. Why does he have a few strands of white hair? Is he already an old man?....."

They sadly listened to Angel's loud whispers. What she was saying didn't rhyme with the way she acted. To top it all, she got a bleeding nose as his looks were too much for her to handle.

"No amount of pain you bring me can actually hurt me. I'm already living in hell". She said, looking at him in the eyes.

Standing face to face with each other, eyes colliding as the atmosphere became very comfortably warm, but they were too lost to realise it.

It was like they finally met each other after a very long time, the feeling of longing.
