"Aaaaagg, it hurts! It's painful." A young man felt his body being scrubbed with sponges of thorns, screamed while rolling on the floor of a forest with an ugly facial expression.
"Nexacore, initiate healing phase!" he shouted in his mind. When he heard the emotionless voice, he was relieved.
"Scanning host... Host body is badly damaged due to the failure of the teleportation device... Initiating healing phase... 1%... 2%... 59%... 100% healing is successful." Alex finally became relaxed. He looked at his surroundings and was confused. "Where am I? Howling sounds can be heard everywhere in the forest."
"Nexacore, scan the area and give me the data."
"HOST, PLEASE WAIT. SCANNING IN PROGRESS... SCANNING 50M AROUND THE HOST... SCANNING COMPLETE."
Alex saw the data sent by the system and found out he wasn't in his original world. He was excited because, in his former world, he was a mad scientist, one of the best in the field, sought after by wealthy and influential figures. He was sad because there wasn't any challenge in his world and no new resources for him. But here, he was excited because there are many places for him to explore and things to create to help him in this new world. Although he has Nexacore with him, it was one of his inventions, NEXA-LINK, which brought him to fame. Now, his Nexacore connection to Nexalink is broken because he wasn't in his original world. So, the scanning report is very poor. All he knows is that there are dangerous animals around, and he is inside a thick forest.
"Hmmm, first of all, I need to find a weapon to protect myself." Alex checked his surroundings and found his backpack, which was shredded. He went over to check if there are any important things to create any weapon but found a weird rock. Alex created a simple hammer by breaking a branch off a tree and using the rock with his shredded backpack pieces. "This will do for now. Next is to find shelter and food."
Just as Alex was thinking about his next move, his thought was interrupted by Nexacore. "[DANGER] [RECOMMEND HOST TO RUN]." Before he could even think about running, "ROOOOOOAR," he heard a roar that nearly shattered his eardrums. He looked up and saw a wolf taller than three school buses combined staring at him. He was instantly petrified, shocked, and filled with fear that came from the depth of his soul.
He didn't know when his body started running, but with a single leap, the wolf blocked his path. Alex, devoid of all hope of surviving, swung his hammer at the wolf in the hope that he intimidated the beast. But he was shocked when the wolf bit off his right hand and the hammer together, clean off his body with playfulness in its eyes. "AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHH," a blood-curdling scream left his mouth, and he fainted. But he woke up instantly because of the pain, and a strong stench hit him. Difficulty in breathing, he realized that he was in the stomach of the beast.
He told Nexacore in his mind to start healing, and he got an error due to no materials to grow back his hand is not available. But Nexacore stopped his hand from bleeding, which reduced the pain a lot. Everywhere is still dark, and he couldn't see anything. Nexacore scanned the area and found the way out. Nexacore scanned and sent the data into his mind. He found his hammer and hand, which was bitten by the beast. He collected the hammer with his left hand and, with the help of Nexacore, activated his night vision sight, which made it easier to see.
But he was all out of options because Nexacore couldn't find any way out. He was almost out of breath and started hitting the stomach of the beast. Nothing happened. But when he resigned himself to his fate, when all hope was lost, he saw a deep claw tear through the stomach of the wolf. He took a deep breath of fresh air and found out the wolf was fighting another beast, which looked like a lion with wings. But he couldn't stay and watch the battle because this is the only time to escape before the fight ended.
Alex took the opportunity of the bleeding stomach to escape and ran toward a cave nearby, just wide enough to allow him to pass through. He couldn't outrun any beast he saw in the forest, so all he could do was hide and pray that both beasts kill each other and give him a chance to escape. Alex hid and witnessed the brutal fight of the beasts, which went on for a long time. Finally, both beasts were weakened and on the point of death but still struggling to kill the other. Finally, the flying lion was killed by the wolf, and the wolf beast was exhausted and died because of its injuries.
Alex could finally breathe out in peace. His next plan was to find food and treat his injuries, as he could use the cave as shelter for the moment. Without any good equipment, he couldn't go far out of the cave and relied on the beast meat, which he ate raw because of no fire. He did this for three days before the meat began to spoil.
Alex noticed something protruding out of the winged lion's chest and saw a white ball. He tried to remove the white ball with his left hand, but he was not successful. Later, the ball came right out, but what was strange was that after his blood touched the white ball, it turned into smoke, which entered his body. He quickly asked Nexacore to scan his body.
"[STRANGE ENERGY FOUND IN THE HOST] [HOST UNABLE TO ABSORB UNKNOWN ENERGY] [EXPELLING UNKNOWN ENERGY FROM HOST] [EXPELLING OF UNKNOWN ENERGY FAILED] [ABSORBING UNKNOWN ENERGY] [1%... 57%... 100%]"
Alex was confused about what just happened when he asked Nexacore about what happened. But he found out Nexacore was upgrading.
