The mall was GIGANTIC. Amy wished she had a dozen more eyes. It was filled with all sorts of incredible and interesting stores filled with stuff she had never even dreamed about. She looked around trying to take it all in and she saw that her brother was moving his head around so much, it looked as if it would fly off. "Do you really own this entire mall, Caleb?" Alex asked. "Grandpa Caleb," Sera said with a hint of severity. Caleb looked at her as if she just told him to flush his head into a toilet. "How about Uncle Caleb?" Amy suggested. "That works," Sera said. Caleb flashed me a grateful wink before turning his attention back to Alex.
"It's one of many, this one is on the smaller side of them though." He said, the blush reappearing again but fainter this time. "On the smaller side?" She wondered looking around the absolute mammoth she was in, "Well, It's not as if that's the most surprising thing that happened this week." "There are an average of a hundred in each country, but the number increases or decreases depending on the monster hunter percentage." Caleb continued without blushing this time. Amy stopped in her tracks. THAT was surprising. "Woah! How many do you own in total?" Alex said awed. "I lost count." He said yawning, "It does get boring, You guys will definitely brighten this place up though.
Looking at the cacophony of lights, music, and chatter, I asked, "How so?" Caleb laughed. "You're Esty's Grandchildren! Of course, you're gonna bring chaos and destruction wherever you go!" He said as if he were introducing a demon lord as the final boss in a video game. "I remember when Kate First came here. Still one of the best days ever." He finished as a nostalgic look came over his face while my mom's entire face and neck turned bright red." "What happened?" Amy asked, "Mom's always so neat." "Oh Boy! If you said that to anyone in the academy in her time they'd send you to the healer's office and tell you to ask for essence of sanity!" He said laughing now. Something told Amy he wasn't joking when he used those terms. "What happened?" Amy asked impatiently. "When your mother first came here she set an entire rage of manticores loose in the mall because she slipped in her robes and fell headfirst onto the orb containing them... It was totally awesome!" Uncle Caleb said. "Wow!" Alex said softly. "What's a rage? And did anyone get hurt?" Amy asked. "A rage is a flock of manticores and no, everyone who enters this mall knows that you need to be prepared to run out at any moment." "Yet they still come?" Amy asked wondering what else would surprise her. "Of course! It's the best and only chain of malls where you can find everything, No one else is as good at finding and crafting things as I am." Uncle Caleb said with a hint of pride.
"No one has the lineage of the best alchemists either," Sera said as Uncle Caleb grinned at her. "Ok! Shopping! All the basic equipment and books are done and now we just need to get a weapon and summon a familiar!" Uncle Caleb said, "Weapons first!" They entered an elevator and he typed
"Weapons" on the keyboard where the list of floors should have been. "How many floors are in this thing?" Alex asked. "Enough to make one nervous" Sera replied.
The elevator doors opened immediately. They entered a dimly lit and extremely large chamber which had a large twilight star on the wall with a gleaming twilight star in the middle. It could hold about three to four castles and looked as if it covered a large underground part of the mall."Ok let's hurry it up. Touch the pearl and get the weapon destined for you." Uncle Caleb said excitedly. Alex ran and touched it and stiffened. His entire body was engulfed in blinding pink light. When the light faded Amy saw that his eyes had turned pink and his nails had turned sharp and looked like press-ons .They were clear but had a pink glow. An elegant voice announced "Eyes that blind the victim with beauty and nails so venomous that the slightest touch melts all metals."
"SOO COOL!" Alex screamed. "Careful with those nails. Didn't you hear the announcement?" Sera said to Alex who was waving his hands in the air. "Your turn Amy." Gramma said.
Amy stepped up to the star and took a deep breath, and touched it. Nothing happened. Then suddenly the entire room glowed so white that she couldn't see. When she opened her eyes she wished she didn't have them. She was at the edge of the room and in front of her were about fifty white dragons each the size of a large house. They were pure white and looked very cramped. They seemed to be surprised at what just happened and seemed to be taking a moment to adjust.
Beside her Uncle Caleb whistled and said, "Loads better than manticores." The voice announced indifferently, "A tribe of celestial dragons, the strongest kind there is. Ready to be tamed by their mistress, Amy Glimmers." Amy gulped, "Oh boy…"
