Iode went straight to the library as the day break, sitting alone in a wooden chair and a table in front of him. On the table before him was Igor's legacy, the book the clone gave Iode. He opened the book just to glance through, not for in-depth studying.
He saw a lot of spells, most of it that can be archiveable only at the high level stage of sorcery. Iode was mesmerized with the names of the spells and how they can be done. Time magic, pocket space, space magic, Mass teleportation, weather manipulation magic, Mass casting and many more.
Iode would have loved to try them out but even if he is able to grasp and understand the process of their casting, he couldn't perform them due to his star level. So he turned his attention to Igor's life experiences recorded in the book.
"Hmm, blah blah blah from a wretched background, blah blah, parents died at a young age, urgh i already know all these, who cares about autobiography that everyone knows ". Iode groaned as he skimmed through the book.
Then he saw something that grabbed his attention, it was the phrase "the life changing event ". Iode presumes this to be when the portal to the underworld opened. He decides to read it.
The book reads:
"After the huge sift of magical dust spewed to the heavens, i and my sister saw a gateway that leads to another realm, it seems only i and my sister could see it. From within, a voice said in a dreadful tune that first caused fear in our hearts".
"The voice called "come, for i shall solve thy problems"".
"The voice sounded very demonic, we were so frightened we froze on the spot, our bodies was numb just hearing the rasping voice sounding from within the gate. But it gets calling on to us like it was appealing us to come meet it disregarding the demon-like voice".
"My sister decides to put on the garment of courage and asked the voice a question. " Who are you, why are you calling unto us". The voice answered, " I am Baran Valier, i am calling unto you because I can see your predicament"".
""You two have been left to die on the streets after the deaths your parents, you were striving to get means for survival but it all turned avail. Your society recognize only the powerful and the rich and they are always pushing down poverty drenched children like you further down the line. I can help you change that fate if you are willing to come to me "".
"My sister and I looked at each other, what the voice said was true, nobody seems to glance by our side and always look at us with distain and disgust. We have longed prayed, if there is any god to take us out of our misery, but we do not expect it to come from a demon. After a bit of hesitation i said to the voice:"
""You demons as we know of, will request for something very great in return for your assistance, so what will it be "".
"The voice answered: come here to me and we shall negotiate"".
"I and my sister looked at each other again, we hesitated a bit but after some time we decide to enter the gate, at least we have nothing to loose ".
"As we entered the gate, we became unconscious and do not know what was happening to us or our surroundings. We both woke up in a grand breathtaking castle ".
"The place was dark, the castle walls were black, pitch black. There were large windows showing a near desolate red land of the outside. We woke up in a place that seems to be the throne room of the castle and we were at the aisle together with three others on a red carpet ".
"By our left and right were frightful looking demons clad in red and black armor, shining ruby eyes visible from their helmet visor. On their armor was a symbol of a forward facing dagger with a star shape surrounding it".
"The symbol was everywhere from the windows to red carpet in the aisle. In the grand room sat a very menacing figure. He spoke and his voice shook the entire room to the foundation".
"He said: I am Baran Valier, the duke and ruler of the Valier duchy".
