Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1: The 2 snakes

And here I am: back on Earth, blind, powerless and with a human body... If I hadn't known how to locate myself without the need of my sight, I would have been lost and dead in the middle of nowhere. "But Chía..." - you might be asking - "How can you do that?"... I have no idea. Maybe it's because gods have a deeper conection with this planet that we don't really need to depend on our senses to know what's happening around us. We just... "know"... you know? Huh. Come to think about it, I might be a simple human right now, but seems like Bochica left me this ability as a little consolation prize.

Oh, Bochica, You still care about me despite of how bitch I was with everyone, especially with you. But I have to admit that it would be nicer if you were there to receive me. Are you still mad at me after all these centuries? I mean, I wouldn't blame you, but then why did you free me? Are you ok? did you forgive me? Will you give me my powers back? Damn it, So many questions! But since you're not here to answer them, then I guess Bachué and Sugunsua will do the trick. Well, The Iguaque Lake is not far from here. I can feel Bachué's presence. Better hurry up.

Hours later, in the cold forest...

I didn't remember The Iguaque Lake was this far. I feel like I'm getting closer, but I can barely move anymore. I'm cold, tired and hungry... or at least I think this is hunger. When I was a goddess, I never felt the need to eat, and neither did Bochica. However, everytime that we arrived to a new town, their inhabitants were so happy to being visited by gods that they always gave us their bests dishes. That enfuriated me a lot. I always thought that they saw us as exotic animals or something who needed to be feed in order to do magic tricks or something. But Bochica always said: "There, there Chía. They're just being nice with us. Stop being so grumpy". right before start eating like there was no tomorrow... Hehehe, I still remember that food: Chicha, corn, bread, meat, beans... I would do anything to eat some of that right now... Chía, ungrateful bitch... *yawns* I need to sleep now. I'm sure I'll arrive tomorrow.

The next day...

Huh? Smells like water, and I can hear it too. Wait a minute. Am I already at The lake?! But how?! Yesterday I was still far from it!

*Runs to the lake and starts drinking water*

It's not food, but at least I'll full my stomach with something! *slurps*... am I a sleepwalker? *slurps*... was I so tired last night that I didn't notice that I was here already? *slurps*... I don't care *slurps* ... right now I just wanna get full.

- "Maybe a "Thank you" first?" - says a voice from the lake.

That voice...

- "Please, Bachué," - says another voice - "let her finish first. That poor girl hasn't eaten or drunk anything since her return"

- "Hmph! The nerve..." - answers the first voice.

- "Wait a minute" - I say - "Bachué! Sugunsua! Did you bring me here?! It's me, Chía!! I-I don't know what happened, but I'm back to Earth and I'm a mortal now! Please come here! I need you to answer my questions!"

- "I KNOW IT'S YOU, CHÍA! WE ALL KNOW YOU'RE BACK!!" - yells Bachué - "AND DON'T YOU DARE TO TALK TO ME WITH SUCH AN DISRESPECTFUL MANNERS! DON'T YOU THINK I FORGAVE YOU AFTER WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO MY BABIES!"

I can feel 2 gigantic presences coming out the lake. No doubt about it. After all these centuries, Bachué and Sugunsua are still the strongest gods.

- "Bachué, please" - says Sugunsua with a calm voice - "don't let the anger takes the best of you".

- "QUIET, YOU!" - replies Bachué - "YOU KNOW WHAT SHE DID TO THE WORLD, TO OUR CHILDREN! AND YOU STILL DARE TO BRING HER HERE?!"

- "She could have died, Bachué! if Bochica set Chía free, it would have been for a good reason! Are you questioning his doings?"

- "ARE YOU QUESTIONING MINE?!"

- "Umm... " - I say timidly - "should I come later and let the lovely couple arguing?"

- "Hush, kiddo..." - answers Sugunsua - "... don't make her angrier".

Bachué calms herself and lowers the tone of her voice.

- "Fine, Sugunsua... I don't trust Chía, but I trust you and Bochica. Deal with this situation and make her leave as soon as possible. I'll be waiting for you".

Bachué returns to the deeps of the lake, leaving Sugunsua and me alone.

- "Alright, kiddo, we need to talk" - Says Sugunsua.

  1. Chicha: A typical Latin-american alcoholic beverage made from fermented vegetables and grains. Here in Colombia is made just with fermented corn and sugar.
