"And likewise for you, little Valkyrie. Let's see if you were worth my time," replied Old Man Pond, readying his spear for his last attack.
As the two Mages' Elemental Aura blossomed, the Poisoned Pond called out to the Valkyrie again.
"Riddle me this: why do you always get involved in small matters? You should have better things to do than meddle with minor feuds like these. After all, it isn't outright war yet, so why not focus on something else first?" questioned the ex-commander.
"It may be small to you, but for those who lost their homes and relatives, they mean everything to them. Humans shouldn't suffer from the affairs of Magecraft. They were innocent."
"If a group of Mages were randomly attacking humans for no reason, then I won't hesitate to eradicate them," explained the Valkyrie.
"Then what happens if it was the other way around? Would you switch sides? What happens if it was someone you knew who got Corrupted? Would you kill that person as well?"
Mavislin widened eyes as she remembered how painful it was to kill Minwoo. And as she heard the word 'Corrupted' come out of Old Man Pond's mouth, her mind flashed back to when she saw Wald's leg. She was reminded of what Wald said...
That he'd rather be killed than turn into the Husks. Deep down, Mavislin knew that it was wrong. Killing for the sake of stopping killing would only result in more bloodshed. But in these kinds of situations, with the Tribe already taking innocent lives...
How could she not get rid of them? And yet... She was the one who proposed to her adopted parents to build a haven for all Mages to rest and live in. Should she shelter these killers as well? The Valkyrie's heart was starting to waver.
And why is she having difficulty replying to Old Man Pond's question?
Old Man Pond shook his head as he spun his spear around himself, gathering up Poison Elemental Energy. He then holds his weapon in a jousting position, getting ready to fire at Mavislin, who is losing control of her emotions.
The Poisoned Pond twists his foot and slams it into the ground, causing a purple and green cloud to emerge from around him.
"Glow, the evergreen of the growing vines. Rise, the tides of the shore. Bright as the fire that burned from the Sun. Let the braided river of Isle Skye run majestically for all to see..." chanted Mavislin.
With closed eyes and a confused heart, Mavislin allowed all her fiery red Elemental Streams to turn into bright shimmering rainbow colors that were converging into her body.
"Oi... I thought Gillian stopped her from using that technique since she kept fainting from it?!" asked Baldwin, nearly soiling his pants.
Once upon a time, little Mavislin and Gillian made a promise that she'd never use Oasis of the Elements. However, they didn't know that Mavislin went on to learn an upgraded version of the spell that she wouldn't faint from.
The more confusing fact was that Mavislin could still pull this off despite not knowing how to answer Old Man Pond's question.
"Achlys' Misery; Mistfall's Nightshade Demise!" shouted Old Man Pond, throwing his spear towards Mavislin at full power.
"Myriad Of Elements," finished Mavislin as she let her blade fall onto the ground.
She opened her palm toward the spear and created a sphere of shining Elements. It took only a Tick and a massive bang for the spear to disintegrate completely. Old Man Pond was at a loss for words while Mavislin mustered up a small smile.
"No matter what... I believe my judgment will always be proper as I see every being as equal. If your sins and ill intentions outweigh the good, you will receive judgment from me. If you're the opposite, then you will be healed."
"It doesn't matter if you are human or Mage. Everyone will be judged equal in my eyes, for I am the very essence of judgment. I am the last of the mighty Valkyries, the ones born with the power to judge anyone!" shouted Mavislin as her Elemental Aura and Energy switched.
Old Man Pond seemed shocked as he quickly conjured up another attack and waited for the next of the Valkyrie. The Angry Man nearly fainted as the Valokian Emblem appeared beneath them.
"Let the Light flow... Let the dark fade... Divine punishment descends from the heavens. Unleash this spell for this land to strive and flourish once again," chanted Mavislin as her hair and eyes morphed into shining gold.
For the first time in a long time, Baldwin could see that Old Man Pond was starting to fear for his life.
"Cease to exist!" cried the Poisoned Pond, destroying his own spell and raising his hands.
