Was he really... That kid?! The one that they...
"You were the one who kicked me out of the Tribe," grinned Wald as he tilted his head to the side, with pure malice in his voice.
Before Scarlet could retaliate, a familiar sniper shot rings out and lands a bullet into her wrist, destroying her tendon and forcing her to release the axe.
"What in the?!" yelled the redhead as she gripped her bleeding arm.
"Don't forget that while you stand victorious, you are alone. Unlike you, I work with people," said Wald proudly as he vanished from his spot.
He reappeared on Scarlet's left, where her injured arm was, and grabbed his axe with his right hand. Scarlet believed Wald was going for another slash again and smirked as she drew out her whip to coil around his right arm.
"You really are only a one-trick pony, huh? Are the Arks this pitiful?" taunted Scarlet as she tugged on the whip.
Instead of Wald flying towards her, he switched posture and forced his left ground to slam into the foot, allowing his body to lower. With a quick spin, Wald delivered an almighty kick toward Scarlet's abdomen.
"For the last time, I'm not from the Arks!" roared Wald.
The female Mage hardly had enough to process what had happened; by the time she did, she had another problem. Scarlet was flying through the area with Wald attached to her whip.
But the male Mage wasn't dumb enough to allow this minor issue to backfire on him. Nope, Wald grabbed the whip and yanked it hard so Scarlet could fly towards his hand. The whip's flames grew even more extensive, but Wald seemed unfazed.
With another mighty yank, Wald could grip Scarlet's neck. Right as he seized her neck, Wald slammed Scarlet into a large wall, allowing him a cushioned impact. Both the wall and his enemy gave out, collapsing under the rubble.
Without missing a heartbeat, Wald untangled himself and wanted to look for Phanm. Wald scanned the area; it was similar to a barren wasteland. It seems like Phanm got rid of all the Tribe people in the place, thought Wald as he sighed.
But before stepping away from the deserted place, Wald sensed something was off. The rubble exploded with bright red flames as Scarlet wouldn't back down. Wald jumped out and gripped his axe tightly.
And she was determined to put whatever she had left into this final attack. Wald thanked his buddy silently as he could finally use his Original Spell without hurting anyone else.
"Why must you hurt us so?! Why can't you leave us alone?!" yelled Scarlet as crimson streams of Elemental Energy danced around her crippled figure.
Wald remained expressionless as he slowly raised the axe above his head. The weapon and the flame grew more prominent as the male Mage focused on his spell.
How could he leave those freaks alone?! To carry on, knowing that they were harming innocents and they were the ones responsible for his terrible youth. The purple flame head was too young to realize what happened on his 16th birthday...
"You tossed me out like I was nothing! Aren't I the same as you?! Yet... You exiled me when I have done nothing wrong! I was forced to steal... Work until my legs hurt... All so I could get some stale bread while everyone in your camp drank your days away!"
"It wasn't my fault that you were so weak!"
Wald started fuming as he dug back into the memories.
'Keep your feelings in check. If not, you might pass out.'
Mavislin's words rang in his mind as the Mage remembered what happened the last time and forced himself to calm down and grip his axe again instantly. At that point, Wald felt the Corruption speeding up from his leg to his torso.
It's not looking good... If he doesn't pull this off now, Wald will surely die and might become a Husk... He was praying that he could keep the Corruption at bay, but...
Inhaling a deep breath, the purple flame head shifted his position and got ready to aim an attack toward Scarlet, who was also about to fire her next move.
"Scarlet Bond: Blazing Tango, Crimson Shock!" yelled Scarlet as she slashed her whip in every direction, causing the arena to get damaged with explosive fire.
With the pain slowing him down and the result of the explosive fire, Wald was stuck and started to panic. However, after a rain of bullets by his partner, the purple flame head knew he could try to pull that one trick off.
"Find a spell that can get rid of this whore of Babylon while I try to keep her at bay!" yelled Phanm as he appeared from the side while running with his guns.
