The hail of bullets abruptly evaporated, reducing his spells to a harmless gust of wind.
"Enough for now!" he exclaimed as he straightened his spear.
Hearing him with a puzzled expression, I also canceled my spell.
"You are really interesting to fight, and the last move you did was something I've never seen in my life. But you need more experience to face stronger opponents. So, don't hold it against me. Considering the fight against you, I want to see how you develop your way through the rank I'm going to give you. Good job, mister shorty!" he remarked, maintaining his stride without turning his back. "Gladius Agroth, B-rank."
B-rank, huh? Well, I guess that's not bad considering what he just said.
Leonard turned his head and looked me in the eyes as his spear's tip was dulled, just before disappearing into the passageway he had come from. "You are strong...but that is insufficient! Take care, kid! Grow stronger!" he said with a hesitant yet fulfilled smile. As he walked away, he also took a slight gaze at my father and nodded, well more like a slight bow.
I simply nodded in agreement as I watched him go away down the corridor.
"That concluded today's testing! Please proceed to the front desk to obtain your adventurer's ID. The others all failed!" Another examiner yelled as he and the examiner next to him went out of sight down the corridor.

At the front desk, the same receptionist who had taken us to the examination site handed me my bronze-colored adventurer's license. It is also called an Adventurer's ID for some reason.
From E-rank to B-rank, the ID was bronze, but from A-rank onwards it was silver, then gold for S-rank.
"What do you think of my fight, father?" I asked my father as I put my adventurer's license card away.
"As expected, son, you were great out there!" With a smile, he said.
After leaving the Adventurer's guild as we met the guild master Reynold before we left. We took our time making our way to the teleportation portal.
I took of my mask as my father and I strolled throughout the city walking without using the carriage now as we only got some time to spend together before I leave for my adventuring starting today.
I am certainly sad about not being able to be with my father, but my growth is something my father is proud of, and to grow well and make him proud, I accepted the fate's way by getting myself excited for my upcoming adventures.
Walking through the city, there are numerous stores of various types and varieties on the side of the road. I really want to go look for what kinds of new weaponry and things are available as always.
Seems like most of the folks here know my father and seem to be greeting him on seeing.
"Ryan. Do you want something before you go for adventuring?" My father asked with a worried smile on his face. I can clearly sense his sad feeling of parting with me.
"Whatever I want?" I asked cheerfully without giving him any sense of sad memories while I go.
"Yeah. Whatever You want, my son!" he replied with a smile.
As he said, I just held his hands and pulled him into a magical supply store.
"Wow, There are a variety of magical items inside!" I said to myself in surprise. There are magic robes, low-tier magic gems, magic wears and gears, weapons, and also magical beast eggs.
Most mages have a magical beast, but one's own magical beast must be fostered. All of the magical beast eggs in this location have a seal on them.
To incubate them, blood must be used as a medium. When a magical beast hatches, it places the greatest value on the first human it sees. Because high-level magical beast eggs are so expensive, there are just a few lower-level magical beast eggs in this type of ordinary store. Even the affluent cannot afford high-level magical beast eggs; obtaining a high-level egg requires luck.
And, taming these magical Beasts and forming Contract, the mages are all known as Tamers.
"Ryan, come on. choose something you like. Father will buy it for you as a present." My father said as I started to look around in the magical beast egg's section.
Looking around the Magic Beast eggs, I reinforced mana into my eyes to clearly see which one had a good mana flow within. And as I took time to see each and every egg of each and every size and variations, I noticed a Pearl White Magical Beast egg sitting in the middle of a bunch of colorful eggs, constantly absorbing the elemental mana from the atmosphere inside. With what I noticed, it was as if the magical beast inside the egg is cultivating.
Weird. I thought the magical beast could only cultivate after hatching from its egg. This must be some kind of rare cause. Let's see.
"Father! I want that one!" I asked my father as I pointed my hands towards the pearl white magical beast egg I was noticing.
"Show that Magical beast egg, please!" My father asked the shopkeeper to take the magical beast egg for us and show us before we make a decision to buy it. As my father being a great mage, he is most certain to get me something that isn't being faked by any of the phony sellers in the market.
As the Shopkeeper handed the magical beast egg to my father's hands, my father looked around and checked for any fake issues with doubt.
"Haha. Seems like the Magic Guild master want to be thorough. I assure you, sir, My shop doesn't have any fake items getting imported from the market and we only give satisfaction to our customers!" The shopkeeper said with a smile of pride.
"Haha. It seems so, sir. You are really trustworthy. I have checked it and it's not a fake magical beast egg!" My father replied with a smile.
"Are you sure you want this, son?" Father asked me once again to confirm our purchase.
