Chapter 17 - Hero to the Rescue

Uncle George and Mr. Durden left as we spoke, sorting out my admission into the Central Academy after I turned twelve.

Of course, father was quite happy with my decision, but I still feel I have to talk to him soon about everything I want to do while growing up. And not to mention, I have to hear his stories as well.

It would be awkward if I were to meet my adoptive mother without knowing anything about when I enter the Central Academy.

My father gave me full support in becoming an adventurer first and getting my license soon. He would use his connections, I presume, but I don't know what the adventurer's guild would have to say about that.

As for graduating from here, the magic guild, I'm confident I will graduate with the highest possible grades. I just have to become a yellow-staged mage in four years; that's the targeted rank I have set up now that I have my growth plan in place.

So, now that was settled, it was already evening, and I had to check in on the dorms as Leon and Helen would be waiting for me. I'm pretty sure they would be arguing until now.

The boys' and girls' dorms were on opposite sides, but we could still meet each other in the gathering place located in the center of both dorms.

"Yo, little cutie. Become my girl; I would treat you well. How about it, huh?"

A familiar voice rang out from the gathering place. It was the same voice that makes me pissed off.

"Just let them both go,"

I walked faster as I heard another familiar voice from there.

"Yeah. Just wait till Ryan shows up!"

"You are gonna be done for!"

As soon as I got there, I saw Silva Hart and his lackeys rounding up my dorm mates, along with Leon and Helen who were tied up and kept as hostages.

And, I saw the pretty ice princess, Evana, standing there opposing them all while holding a note in her hands.

"Wait... is that my note?" it seems like I left the note with her in the classes.

But that aside, this is bad. Should I see what Evana is going to do?

As I was thinking, her cold expression unwavering, "Seems like I have to teach you a lesson!" Evana spoke out as she put the note inside while drawing her staff out from the dimension ring on her pinky.

"Woah. She has a spatial storage ring too?" I said to myself as I remembered the first time seeing my father's spatial ring.

"You want to teach me a lesson...haha," Silva said as he jumped off Leon's back and got to his position, taking out his wooden sword that was tied to his waist as he continued, "Teach me well, cutie-pie!" his fire mana igniting his wooden sword.

"You teach this little loli, Silva!"

"She is done for!" "Hahaha"

As Silva's lackeys started to mock Evana, without a word, Evana lifted her sky blue staff. Before Silva had a chance to unleash his attack, two javelins of ice formed around Evana.

"You get them, girl!"

"Go, go Evana!"

Leon and Helen started to cheer for her as soon as they saw there is some hope for them all. And as they both continued, the others from my dorm also joined in.

"Shoot," Evana said silently as the javelins fired towards Silva.

"That was a great attack. She is an ice mage huh. Cool," I said to myself as I stood away and watched the fight.

A faint smirk crept up on Silva's face as he lifted his hands that were still aflame, ready to block the ice spears.

As soon as the ice javelins touched the fire on his wooden sword, they instantly melted, disappearing slowly as a sharp hiss resounded.

"Ice Javelin," she muttered again, and this time, instead of two, five spinning javelins formed near Evana.

"Shoot," her expression remained icy, like a coiled serpent ready to spring.

"Haha! Impressive! As expected of someone who is mocking my noble persona!" Silva showed his arrogant grin, his lackeys ran away and stayed at Silva's back at this intense battle.

I saw Silva willing his mana to some kind of concentrated attack as the five ice spears shot toward him, ready to pierce through if not countered.

"Take this!" As Silva evaded Evana's attacks, he swung his sword from above with fire engulfing the wooden blade.

This is bad. Evana is talented enough to attack the prick with attacks directly, but she is at a disadvantage in that spot where the sword will strike. It would be her head.

As I was thinking fast, I started to will mana to my legs to utilize my wind mana to increase my speed. A few steps from where Evana was standing, I took a leap while enforcing my feet with mana and enforcing my hands with fire mana to counter his sword because I didn't have any weapon on me now.

As I turned my direction in mid-air, I pulled Evana in and jumped at Silva's strike as I blocked his sword engulfed in fire with my hands enforced with my flames.

"You little shit. Why are you always picking fights with my friends?" I said as I was blocking Silva's sword.

"Well, well, well. The hero to the rescue!" Silva said with a creepy face.

"Why? Because I'm bored. Hahaha!" He replied like a lunatic as he willed more mana to his sword, and his flames grew larger.

I clenched my teeth. I'm already running low on mana after the fight with my Uncle George, and now this is happening.

"Evana, use your mana to enforce my body!" I said as I covered her with my right hand while stopping Silva with my left.

"..." Evana was constantly glaring at me with her face bright red.

Does she have a fever or something?

"Hey look. This isn't the time for glaring at me. Just do as I say!" I repeated my words.
