Chapter 24 - Rijin Tamer of Beast (Part 2)

The party looked around at each other. Rijin rolled his eyes. "To be honest we figured something like that would be the case," Rijin said. The other members of the party nodded.

"So are they using a spell? Like a disguise?" Lia asked.

"No…they were the best mask possible, Helena's body," Telluides said.

"So someone is controlling her," Fuju said.

"Yes," He answered, "I do not know much about the person who is controlling her but they have infiltrated the whole of the Blessing of Love. Down to the infrastructure itself."

"So basically we are screwed in trying to get help from the government," Qrow said.

"While this is all riveting conversation it's a lot of doom and gloom: what is the goal? What do they want? What does it have to do with us?" Garus asked.

"That I do not know…when I got here I started to blend in but they have a system set up. Not everyone knows the whole truth…" Telluides started to say.

"So that no one can spill the whole plan, typical," Rijin interrupted.

"Then do you know anything about the reavers?" Garus asked.

"Only that they were created by the person controlling Helena," He answered.

"So as far as I can tell, you don't know who is controlling Helena, why they are, what they want or how they are doing whatever they are doing?" Garus said.

"Yea this was definitely worth being teleported for, we have learned nothing," Qrow said.

"Just wait, it gets good," Varithorn piped up, "tell them what you told us."

"I do know one of the people who is behind this," Telluides said, "the owner of LES."

"Goshiki?" Qrow asked, "I started to investigate him earlier. I couldn't find anything in his office."

"That is because he has a secret office that is underneath LES," Telluides said.

"Of course there is," Qrow said, "how original."

"How do we get in?" Lia asked.

"That is the tricky part. They use some sort of device that I have not been trusted with yet, it allows them to teleport in and out," Telluides answered.

"Just give me a general location and I can get us there," Fuju said. He pulled out a small gem and began to levitate it in the air. Runes began to appear around it.

"If only it was that simple. The lair is covered in many enchantments. No one can get inside without one, even the people who made the enchantments," Telluides said.

"So basically we need one of these devices and then we need to what? Does it just instantly teleport us there?" Garus asked.

"No, you need to activate it at a certain location within LES," Telluides answered.

"What is the location?" Garus asked.

"He doesn't know," Qrow snarked.

"That I do know. The lift, if you have it on and get on the lift, then it will teleport you into the lair," Telluides replied.

"Ok so simple enough then. We steal some devices and then get on the lift in LES, easy," Qrow said.

"Not easy," Telluides replied, "only a few high ranking officials have them. I do not know everyone who has one."

"The list grows longer," Qrow says.

"So we need to find these devices, or at least find 7 for us," Rijin said, "who do you know that has one?

"Helena is an obvious choice, the head druid has one as well, Goshiki as well as his Oiran at his brothel as well, Helena's advisor, the treasurer of the Blessing…those are the only ones I know of, but I will try to find out others in the meantime," Telluides said.

"Good, Telluides will find out who has the devices and then we will carry out a plan from there," Fuju said.

"Wait," Prometheus piped up, "there are more issues than that unfortunately."

Rijin felt an uneasy anger rise up inside him. The strategist in him was beginning to grow restless and angry. The way the party had carried orders out was terrible. No one had learned anything, any information that had been obtained had been handed to them on a silver platter…

Rijin froze, something was wrong. But he had to play along for now. "What is this news?" Rijin asked.

"We ran into…a familiar face…" Qrow said, looking at Prometheus awkwardly.

"A familiar face? Who could possibly be familiar with the Blessing of Love?" Varithorn asked.

"The Oiran," Qrow said.

Rijin rolled his eyes, "are we really talking about prostitutes again?"

"With purpose this time," Prometheus said, " the Oiran would like to meet with us. I do not know if there is any information to be received from her, but it is in our best interest to go."

"If she wants to meet with us, then we should go!" Garus said, "then we can take her device without a problem!"

"I agree meeting with her is a good choice but this is entirely up to Lia," Qrow said. Prometheus pulled a small black metal disc with a rune engraved into it from his bag. He placed a small rock on top of it and set it on the ground. The disc began to expand, glowing a slight brown color as it grew. The rock began to dissolve into sediment as it happened. The sediment began to take form and shape, growing taller and taller until it was as tall as Lia. Then it began to form itself, shaping and compacting until it formed the visage of a woman, one Rijin had never seen before. She was beautiful, and vaguely familiar in the way that she appeared.

Lia and Adonis looked at each other astonished, "is that mom?" Lia asked.
