Chapter 5 - Puppet and master

In the principal's office, someone knocked on the principal's door.

"Come in," the principal said while petting a cat with one hand and doing paperwork with the other.

"Principal," Mr. Reverie said as he opened and closed the wooden door after him.

"Yes, Mr. Reverie? What did you want, Mr. Reverie?" the principal said with a respectful tone.

"I just have a question," Mr. Reverie said.

"Go on."

"Why did you let those boys go so easily? The other three I can understand, but the blond one…"

"I understand your perspective."

"But I can't go against the rules, Mr. Reverie."

"It is stated in Chapter 6, page 3: In the event that a student experiences gains or losses due to luck, the school shall not be held responsible, and no liability shall be attributed to the school for any outcomes resulting from such luck-related incidents."

"So I can't intervene."

"But that doesn't mean the blond student will be left alone. The villagers also have the right to take revenge."

"It is stated in Chapter 1, page 2…"

"In the case of a student causing harm or damage to village property, villagers, along with their representatives, are authorized to seek compensation from the student, which may involve financial restitution or other suitable forms of reparation. If the student lacks the means to provide compensation, they may be required to participate in the repair or rebuilding of the affected property. In the unfortunate event of a student causing harm leading to the loss of life, immediate expulsion from the school shall be enforced," Mr. Reverie interrupted the principal.

"I know this already, principal," Mr. Reverie said.

The principal only gave a small smile.

"But what would happen if the student does something again with his luck?" Mr. Reverie asked.

"That, I don't know, since it hasn't happened. And I hope it doesn't," the principal said while looking at the amount of complaints he got from the villagers.

"Shit, shit, shit!!!!" Lucian cursed while running with all his might.

"Roar!!!!!!" His potion teacher gave out a monster-like roar while running after Lucian.

The distance between Lucian and the potion teacher was actually quite big.

But the distance got shorter and shorter until Lucian could feel the breath of his now monstrous potion teacher.

Lucian looked back a split second and saw that his teacher was trying to throw a punch at him.

Lucian dodged with a hair's breadth.

"Fuck," Lucian cursed.

"What did I do?!!!" Lucian asked his teacher.

"Roar!!!" His teacher only roared.

'Fuck, he's getting closer. What should I do?!!!!' Lucian thought as his mind raced.

"Roar!!!" His teacher roared and jumped with his hands up and prepared to slam Lucian down.

While his teacher was in the air, Lucian activated his skill, Light Vision.

Time slowed down, and everything lost its color for Lucian.

Lucian couldn't move but observed something interesting with his teacher.

'All of his mana is focused on his arms,' Lucian thought.

This was a stupid thing to do of his teacher. Mana serves as both a shield and a sword for the body.

If all of the mana is focused on one point, not only can that part of the body explode because of there being too much mana,

But the rest of the body is also left defenseless.

And Lucian, seeing this chance, didn't intend to let it slip.

Lucian opened his palm, hoping for his sword to appear fast enough.

And it appears it did. The sword shined with a dim light and underwent rapid enlargement.

This all seemed to have happened in a second for Lucian.

But, in reality, the sword's enlargement happened in the blink of an eye.

Lucian gripped his sword and tried to move his body as fast as possible and take a stance.

Lucian could only see time go in slow motion. He could not move in it.

"Step." After what seemed like an eternity, Lucian took a step back and readied his stance.

Lucian took a deep breath and turned off light vision since it took too much mana to maintain it.

"Roar!!!" Lucian was welcomed with his teacher's roar.

Once Lucian heard that roar, demeanour subtly shifted. His eyes locked onto his teacher.

A quiet intensity settled over him.

Lucian unsheathed his sword in less than a second and began to swing it.

Lucian effortlessly guided his sword to the path that he had chosen for it.

Lucian's sword cut the potion teacher right in half.

Blood squirted everywhere as the potion teacher's body began to return to its small, stick-like figure.

"Haaaaa." Lucian exhaled and swung his sword to get rid of any blood stains on it and then sheathed it again.

"Click." His sword made a clicking sound as he sheathed it.

Lucian didn't even bother to look back at the horrifying mess behind him.

He just simply walked away from there as if nothing happened.

Once Lucian left the scene, a silver-haired man with a white robe and glasses was walking by when he noticed the dead body of the potion teacher.

The silver-haired man stopped in his tracks once he saw it.

The silver-haired man walked over to the dead body and crouched down to examine it more.

"Hmm, who killed my puppet?" The silver-haired man asked.

"Haha, looks like this year's students are a bit hot-headed, aye?"

"Seems like I need to discipline them."

Once the silver-haired man said that, he walked away from the corpse and to the direction of the potion classroom.

"Oh yeah, almost forgot, Luminis Purificare." The silver-haired man casted a spell.

The body of the dead man suddenly became cleaner and purer. The blood also dried up and evaporated.

"Necro Marionette," the silver-haired man cast another spell.

This time, the dead body now reconnected with its other half.

The puppet now revived and stood with its own two legs.

"Go back to the lab." The silver-haired man ordered.

The puppet merely nodded and walked away.

"Now, let's discipline some people." The silver-haired man said as he continued on his way to the potion class.
