CHAPTER 23
"Richard, it's driving. Even fourteen-year-olds drive with their learner's permit in Iowa. You are just making a fuss out of nothing." I argued, dropping my purse on the bed.
"You didn't tell me you were going to. Imagine my astonishment when I saw you on the screen getting into the driver's seat." He looked out the window wanting to look elsewhere.
"Would you have allowed me to?" I asked deadpan. He gasped and turned to face me and I almost laughed at the horror on his face.
"Absolutely not." He replied and I couldn't hold the laugh anymore as I bursted out in giggles.
"You are so dramatic. Come on Richard, driving isn't that hard. I've gotten a hang of it even Pierre said I'm a natural." he shrugged, his mouth forming a thin line.
"I called several times, you didn't pick up." crap! I left my phone behind.
"I didn't take it along with me." he nodded curtly.
